You know im would like to see a babysiter type business or nanny if you will. Perhaps some elderly mom home. Somewhere to get babies going or take care of the mommas if you needed.

Yeah, pretty much, only money needs to change hands to pay for the babysitter's time and effort- and risk.

This would eliminate the customers' need for a veg zone at all.

I think it's a great idea. Selling flower ready clones to people who want to grow their own at home could be a nice niche. One of the big money makers is legal agriculture is selling clones and seedlings. A well run nursery can make a hell of a lot more money than the farm that grows those same plants to production. I suspect this will be the trend in place like CO where it has become legal. People growing commercially will only see prices decrease and overhead increase as time goes on. Hate to say it but most farmers get screwed and you can bet this will happen to cannabis farmers as well as more and more states go legal. I've seen the effects here in Mendo, even though it isn't legal here anymore. There are a lot of growers out there that aren't doing so well anymore because the prices have dropped so much and the market has been flooded by a tremendous amount of medium to low grade outdoor. The only people making much money at it anymore are those who run it like a real business and produce top notch product.

Bingo! I am not looking to vend to clubs (cant stand most of the assholes that run those places anyway, a lot of them just rip off "patients") or start some massive clone production business. I've got more than I need for the season and would like to re-coup some of the cost. I spent quite a bit of time and money this last year constructing a 10 x 12 building just for maintaining mothers, breeding, and producing clones so I don't have to rely on anyone else for genetics ever again. I don't want to give them out for free like I've usually done in the past, especially since I have people that want not just one or two but 50 or more. Like I said, these will be for friends and neighbors, so I don't want to charge them unfairly high prices either.

Thanks for the different perspectives I think I have a good idea what would be a fair price now.

I haven't sold any clones, but I have bought some and they are at the $20 mark, I have seen people requesting $25. I would pay itif it was a Good Strain or one I wanted badly.

Each situation varies, but if the clones are going to other growers in your community, folks you consider peers or neighbors perhaps, I would just look to cover your costs. I helped a friend get started and set him up with 6 clones for $20 total. I thought that was pretty fair.

This is called 'helping a buddy out', which needs to be followed by 'returning the favor'. Sad how we don't see much of that second part happening much anymore- which might be why the first part is getting less common!

i surround myself with real people and only real people can count them on one hand that includes fam too... super tight circle...like a virgin!!!

whatever UK cut I got back in March. is total s***. about 7 weeks of flower now. and I'm ready to throw it away.

A good friend once proposed a business model that went something like this;
Rooted clones, $15
8" tall bushes, $45
12" tall shrubs, $75
16" tall plants, $125 each.
These prices would assume pre-paid terms, and a regular refill schedule and attendant repeat business.

Basically, the customer orders the bloom ready size of their choice, on the schedule that works for them, and this guy's business model would ensure the supply of plants would always be ready- and this is where the grower gets his value- for him, there is now NO VEG REQUIRED.

It's a good model and will definitely work, as evidenced by the success of PO here in SoCal. Not as easy as it sounds though, esp pest control. The biggest challenge, like anything in the quasi-legal MJ business world, is balancing your exposure to legal risk.

When I hand out spare cuts/meds to my circle I simply ask for what ever they think its worth. It's almost always enough to cover costs and it avoids putting someone in a bind trying to balance finances.

So what would you guys think is a fair price for a 3' tall plant in a 5 gallon smart pot? Looks like I will have some extras here. I was thinking like $50-$100 each.

They are big enough that they would probably yield a good half lb if they were flowered right now in an indoor room or light dep.
