back in around 1980 the old school roadkill skunk hit the scene in B.C. and it was the undisputed #1 best. If it was still around i wonder if it still would hold that title, too bad its been over a decade since it been in circulation. I think it didnt survive the many clonings properly.
I dont think I ever tried true RKS but like everyone else I would dearly love to get hold of some seeds with the possibility of finding a similar pheno with a similar stench .

*Thank god for stoners popping bag seed eh? :)

Still... One can only imagine what the world of cannabis would be like if chem had kept that male he found in the original ounce. Other than the occasional sterile banana that chems throw late in flower, they're pretty damn stable & pretty true breeding- atleast compared to all the loose canon OG's today that herm like clockwork.

So does anyone know the lineage further back- what was the 2 ounces of pot that produced the seeds? What was in the room/outside that pollinated it?
I'm guessing only pbud or joeB would know for sure, I just didn't know if it's been spoken of before.
I dunno... Sometimes I think...do I really want to know? I kind of like it being a mystery- "just some seeds found in a bag of pot from a grateful dead show" has a nice ring to it. It's pretty romantic that way :)

"In ’89, ’90 this pot came in called Dog Bud. We were getting a lot of it. We were told it was coming from the California-Oregon border. We were getting pounds of it. It was some of the most incredible indoor that we had ever seen. The smell? You walked into a grocery store with a tiny bit in your pocket and the clerk was like, “did someone hit a skunk?” So we were getting this Dog Bud and we couldn’t believe the looks of it, we’d never seen anything like it. From what I heard, it was called Dog Bud because after you smoked it, it made you roll over like a dog. And “d-o-g,” not “d-a-w-g.” This was back when it was organic, don’t panic, but we were thinking they must have pumped so much chemicals into this pot. We just started calling it “Chem Weed,” just as a joke. So Chem Dog, he put those two together and that’s where it came from."

That's a quote from P-Bud on the subject (). As far as I've been able to find, no one has been able find any additional info on Dog Bud unless you count Dave Richards who basically claimed that all good cannabis in America was coming from the bunker grows that he talks about on that series of Adam Dunn Show podcasts. They're a good listen if you've got the time. They're Season 1 Episodes 43, 44, and 46.

Listening to Dave Richards, I firmly believe the man.

I actually got the exact opposite vibe. Listening to him sounded like someone who was definitely around and involved in that scene, but laying it on super thick at the same time. Like his friend having the chance to walk on his sentence because the government wanted his strains that bad? Ha...riiiiiiiight. I feel like a solid amount of the stuff he was saying true, or based in truth, but I just got that feeling that he was dropping a decent amount of bullshit too. The timing of him just happening to be listening, and commenting in the chat, and then eventually calling in all seems like a plant as well. Not saying it is, that's totally plausible that he's a regular listener, especially if him and Adam are friends, but with all they're building to for the OGenome project, and fleshing out Chem/Diesel, and now OG, and suddenly Richards just happens to pop in unexpectedly and dominate the cast that sets the internet on fire. Then there's the Todd McCormick claiming Richards' snitchery issue as well. I really want to hear his side of the story fully fleshed out. Fuck, I'm sure there are various reasons why no one's bringing it up on something so open like that, but I'd love to get something beyond speculation on the Rez ordeal.

I don't know man, this is all some serious WWE storyline type shit. I feel like a kid watching Monday Night Raw listening to and reading all of this. Like, the long standing story that a Chemdog cut in Cali led to to OG and Bubba Kush (through various crosses), and suddenly "Bubba" and these other dudes grab the mic and walk down ramp claiming that it's Florida bag seed that lead to OG (before getting the OG moniker), and then a bag of seeds for a Northern Lights cross from Humboldt County leading to a strain they named Bubba, which through a hermied OG lead to Bubba Kush. Meanwhile Adam Dunn and those dudes are the announcers hyping this shit up like mad. Putz and those dudes from Cali, Chem Fam, and the Bubba's Florida boys are all going to meet on the podcast for a straight up he said she said hardcore showdown.

I'm gonna shit myself when all of this and the OGenome project leads to Dave Richards and Adam Dunn announcing a breeding project with Dave's supposed seed stash that starts with legends being given cuts for public test runs that are the most fire thing of all time, and leads to 10-50k cut/seed auctions, and we realize it was all one massive guerrilla marketing campaign from the start.

Being a Christian (what 80% of people imagine when I say that is NOT what I represent), I know that majority of people do NOT want to even hear the mention of God. It is not something you bring up to give yourself credibility in a setting like the Adam Dunn show.

What made me believe this guy was that he made a very bold statement that be firmly believed it was God's will to preserve the strains and that the potency and qualities had NOTHING to do with his breeding and he was ONLY preserving what God had put here.

If he wanted the credit or to push some seed company he would of surely left God out of the equation.

Also, majority of what he says one can verify by simple google search, he even told us how to spell the people's names correctly.

@GuyMontag go to the og kush thread for Todd's side it's all in there

Had a feeling. I had hit that thread and started working my way from back to front to find him sometime around then, but only made it to the tail end of his posts at the time and lost my place, so now I'm working from the front on, and it is a serious task at this point, heh. Thanks for the tip man.

That is some extremely poor logic. Oh wait, that is the disease, and you have it.

Hi everyone i just have some history that i and my fellow Vermonters would like to add to all this Soma lived in VT before he lived in NYC and the Orig . Diesel cutting my crew and a few other Vermonters have is from 95' and the strain was around pre 95' so idk if Soma should be changing anything and no one but us and Somas crew know this so i don't blame anyone for not knowing and for the record its called Original Diesel aka Soma Diesel Or Original- VT Diesel

Growgod I'm not sure what your issue is and i do not care to argue with you.I mean your asking for pictures of plants pre 96' not too many VT Deadheads taking pics of their grows back then even if i had a picture of a plant with Soma standing behind it with a newspaper dated 1995 It still wouldn't prove what the plant is come on now
