Yeah its a little cold up north and they just won't survive the trip in anything colder then 40 it seems.. :( Learning that the hard way my self.. poor worms.. I had so many! lol

I have a manufactured worm farm thats intended for indoor use. Also this time of year through big jims if you buy 1k of worms you get another 1k for free. Im trying to motivate u joe
no but i only got anothe rmonth to wait or so before the temps are stable above freezing, so ill wait

lol cool well maybe ill order this weekend if he is willing to ship with a garantee that the worms will be live....thats the issue with other places, either they just wont ship, or they wont garantee the worms live...all because of the cold
Yep sorry uncle jims. He is a big guy though lol

Hada feed the new bin so heres a few more pics :D

peeled back the bedding, Dumped the rotten food, sprinkled sand then dolomite then covered it back up.

If they dont offer the bogo thing it might be worth a phone call. Theres a nice young lady at reception who if you mention g gnome she might hook it up lol just kidding but you could mention you know a guy who got that deal. See what she says. It must be the niece heh heh

No worries there brother they def assured me that if any at all were dead to call and they would gladly replace.

Thats exactly why i started makin my own. So its as diverse as possible and as biologically available.

5KG brick of coir 11$
3 Cubic feet of Peat moss 9$
3 Cubic feet of perlite 18.95
dolomite 4lb's 8.95$

total cost to raise tons of worms for a year ^^^

Add 20$ for a 50lb bag of worm food if you want a population boom in a hurry.. if not . totally optional.

If i spent that much on the bagged stuff it would go very far. God only knows how long its been on the shelf

Gettin started.. its cool enough outside there not very active atm plus at least 1/2 that pile is dead so .. not worried bout them crawling away anytime soon lol

More pics as the day goes on!

Careful they might be playin possum. ..maybe not

Im more worried about the actual posssum finding them ... Sum bitch hangs around eating all the fruit from my grape vine in the fall..

And some of them are yeah i checked a few and they started movin in my hand after a min or so.. so whatever don't fry in the sun is still alive lol
