I'm a 3G guy myself, I love that super tight root ball, and them drinking every day or 2. I feel like I have more control that way, rather than them being in 5-10 and sometimes taking 3-4 days to drink and then if something shows up you can't do anything to correct it for potentially over half a week. Just my reasoning behind it
I also enjoy the control a 3.5 gallon gives me. I'm now moving to square pots and I'll tell u I love them. I've recently killed two males and when I pulled them out the roots were incredible. They had only been in the square pot for about four days. Maybe it was the strain maybe it was my awesome mix(jk) or maybe it was the depth of the pot but I'm giving all the credit to the pot.lol. Love the way they are growing. Not sure if u can tell by my bloom tent photo from the other day but I have three plants in there in squares. I believe they are 3 gallons as well. Also started adding hydroton to the tops of my soil pots. Using it as a mulch I guess. What it is doing though is shading the grokashi and its blooming out of control. I love it. I suppose I could've used perlite or whatever but getting the top layer of soil dark got my little fungal factory running at full capacity. Sorry I'm rambling but I'm very happy with the state of my garden right now. @TurtleTree i think u will hit a home run with those beans.

Same here man, you can't beat the level of control when your plants drink everyday or 2. And in my experience, besides a couple phenos that are extra sensitive, the only negative when they get root bound in the 3's is they drink literally every day. But I don't mind, because then root rot is never an issue because they drink so fast, and you can get them what they need as soon as they need it. I got root rot flushing once in 5's, and since then I went down to 3's n haven't turned back

Keep those Bennie populations heavy and happy and root rot will never shoe it's ugly face. Since really getting into bacterias and fungi about 3 years ago my plants have reaped the rewards.

Just seems I get impatient waiting for 5 s to full up with roots. So I much prefer the 3s and just rock like 16/20 of them
Only sometimes the roots will force their way to the top of the containers on certain strains mostly sativa dominate ones.

@Tnelz when the garden is rocking my spirits seem much higher and boring everyday shit gets tolerable :D It's been quite awhile for me but the last 2 weeks have me inspired again
Im a never gonna fuck with my soil again , pro mix xp forever
I'm never gonna take a clone directly in the room no matter what
I'm gonna hate mites and kill em all forever

And I'm gonna continue to grow dank ass weed
Off to plant my peppers .... Then shower before :)

Edit and as much as I hate to admit it those damn ogbiowar products rock and I'm gonna be increasing caps retirement funds regularly

I couldn't agree more bro. I'm using Humboldt earth for soil and coco loco for coco. I am going to switch to all coco loco at some point. Amazing stuff. Very much like soil with all the benefits of coco. Even water between 6 and 6.3. Love the stuff and it works just as good using organics or synthetics. Anyway I don't hate to admit how amazing caps bennies are. Been using the nute and foliar packs for a couple years now. Don't use the root pack anymore though. Instead I use og special sauce. It could actually replace the nute pack as well but the nute pack is just so amazing I'd never stop using it. Those little n fixers keep ur ladies green even with little food. And the foliar pack is just a special unique item. Has things in it that are in other items at 10 times the cost. Def a mainstay in my ipm. I think people use it wrong though. It's great as a preventative really keeps bugs away. It's not always a cure though and to me it isn't supposed to be. But anyway my moto is get ya bennies up. Lol. Love the little critters.

@waayne and @ShroomKing pleasure to have u bros here. Bro u don't sound like a creep at all. I also agree with Wayne on being in th very least pissed at ur boy. The person who gave me aphids is no longer around. Lol. Also feel Wayne gave u the same advice I would. U did a good job of decontamination imo. I've never had them thank God. However I spray with mighty wash around once a month just to be safe and a weekly dose of caps foliar. I kind of double dose the foliar pack though. Water it in and spray. I'll tell you u can't ever be to careful!
Well I know that SMs are just Grr . I had a seizure in my room and injured a couple in flower I was devistated. They worked out and have that fear just as much. Try to make sure my grow room is safe. And the wife and son (20) year old help me out. Very lucky I am .

Flavor was Suttle. Tasted like weed. Lol. However it was just picked off the stem totally uncured. I do believe the taste will improve. Always does. However even if it were lacking I'd eat that. I literally paid very little attention to her. Have a second in bloom now and I'm glad. I'll be able to treat her very nice and care for her like I should. I'll redress this strain after cure.
I been trimmin and got a lil piece and ate it . Tasted like smell . Chocolate coffee . Test nug chopped up and it's goin in bong . Cheers

Yea well soil is not readily accessible around here and the one hydro store in the area. They only stock like 3 bags of roots organic and sun shine #4 and I swear that it was giving me bugs.
Thought I would switch up and went perlite / verm / ewc but that stayed to wet. Then added some cheap fluffy organic 12 dollar Home Depot shit and that was horrible.
Finally found promix hp on line with no delivery fee at 54$ for 107 lb bag , so I ordered 5 and I have soil for awhile now. Each bag made 4 /18 l totes
Think the mail man hates me thou ( well not me but my buddy) as those bags were pretty beat upon arrival and heavy.
Never used coco or og special sauce ( but I'm gonna google it) kinda don't like the name og special sauce thou and if my Tahoe doesn't reveg I'm down to one or two og's :)

I hear you on the bio it's just I feel like a slave to a couple hundred dollar bags of white powder AGAIN :p

The soil situation sux bro. And I feel u on being a slave to the bags of bennies. Lol. There are many cheaper products out there that give u the same benefits as caps stuff. His products are special due to his spore counts. I'm not going to say that's the only thing that sets his stuff apart but it's the most glaring strength of his product. Now the og special sauce is really really amazing stuff. You get alot more for less money. But that's where spore count comes in cuz are u really getting more of what actually matters. I believe only a scope could determine that and I don't have 1.lol. So 1 thing u could try is making ur own lacto bacteria and not have to buy any bennies at all. It's extremely effective and only costs u a little bit of rice and milk. Easy enough to make. Obviously it doesn't contain all the different bacteria and fungi that a bag of this or that product does but it Def does what it's supposed to and it basically costs a couple bucks to make. Just a thought. Another thought if u felt like doing it is growing in straight perlite. I've done it many times in hemp buckets and it's crazy effective but time consuming due to the fact u have to water it a couple times a day from about week 2 of bloom on. Just some thoughts off the top of my head. Ur a g so I'm sure u already know this stuff anyway. The promix is good stuff so it seems like ur fine either way. Anything I can ever do for ya let me know.

Well said Tnelz!

For me caps bennies end too expensive because of the shipping so I found another source that comes at least close to caps root product:

Might not completely understand what's writte but I'm sure you'll figure out those numbers. This, EWC and molases brewed together and areated works like a charm :)

@Toaster79 no shipping when you buy all 3 packs. If you only need say 2 packs 2.2 lbs or 16z might as well grab a 8z of the one you don't need. Your gonna pay for it in shipping anyways FYI

@Tnelz can't do the perlite in summer I'm away most weekends and I'm a self waterer. Promix xp is gonna be my medium of choice for the time being I believe the stuff is real soft and porous especially with added perlite.

Ditto on the help if needed

Peace y'all ......

Awesome bro. There are a million other things out there that will perform just as well. All a matter of preference. I've used literally everything under the sun. Mykos is a very inexpensive choice for fungi that works amazing. Root blooms is another that comes to mind. Currently in using greenstone nutrients mycorhize spelled wrong I know. Lol. I add it to every single water. I think the most important thing is to make sure u use something because it's better than nothing. Lol. Respect and good vibes yall.

I think that's a very solid choice bro. I'm Def a fan of premix. Peat Def harbors bacteria well so I'm sure ur medium is crawling with all types of microbeasties.
