Thanks for the awesome thread prime c! I just recently switched to coco and was wondering how it would effect my yields, I run mainly 3-5 gal pots so this thread was right on time cause I was about to spend money on upgrading to 7's but now I know I don't have to and with the extra added bonus info from symboite420, ( watering), I will actually achieve even better yields!! Thanks a bunch to both of you!!!!

I just crushed a run of Chemdog #4 in the yield department in 2 gal perfect pots (11 3/4 potatoes off 6 lights but I'm still in the trim process approximately 75% done and I'm expecting 15-16 total) this run I'm in 5 gals but with 50% coco chips so I hope to get to water the same amount as last run. Really want to try out beds though... I'm setting up a buddies room and it's going to have a 5x18' tables with 3 nanolux my curiosity wants to just set it up as a 12" raised bed and do 4x4 plant layout per light or 48 a table. I'd be trying to water 4x a day by the end of week two with that system (70/30 coco/perlite) so if anyone wants to try and talk me off a ledge nows the time!

hmmm... but its 1 3gal plant vs 9 1gal plants, so 9plants/9gal of roots vs 1plant/3gal basically...idk if thaat matters or not lol

I've been in beds for almost a year now. I veg in 1gal smart pots then transplant into the beds for flower. I've had great results but after this thread made me change my mind on the whole bed idea. So what I've done is from clone they go into 1gal pots for 3 weeks then into 5gal for another 3 weeks for veg. I flower in the 5gal smart pots and no more beds witch uped my yield, lowered plant count and less work. My conclusion, beds are great only if you can veg in them before flipping into flower. Otherwise stay in pots..

Brilliant thread man what a read and some nice skills on show....I feel like I've wasted my whole growing period on big pots..now I've made the switch to 5litre pots which is about a gallon I think? (UK) I can't feed multiple times a day but I'm giving them 1-2 litres a day keeping the coco moist and they're loving it. This has been a great read I'll be back later on whack a few pic up when they're a bit later on in flower :) happy growing
