I've talked to a guy from another thread and he said he's been able to get over 1lb from one auto plant before. You think there's any truth to this

Hi @Quagmire and @Seraphim19 i want to say thanks for the info you have given. I'm new to growing and currently 19days into growing 3 heavyweights fast and vast. One of them was hard to germinate but she popped in the end but is a little behind her sisters. @Quagmire please can I ask you this, one of my plants has pistils showing all over (female) but the other has just started showing the white hairs on new growth, BUT on the whole of the plant there is 2 balls near the main stem that hasn't grown or changed at all (could these be male) I knocked one of them off by accident with jewellers loupe. is it possible to have lots of female pistols and only one or 2 male balls?

I hope your feeling better now with what's happened with your dog. My dog is my world as well as my shadow haha.

Here is a pic of one of my fast and vast plants at 19days she is so short and bushy I hope she gains some height in the coming weeks the smell is quite nice too surprisingly

Hi guys.. Just an update..
Another heavy defol about 10 days ago and now...
Taking her time but I reckon another 2 weeks or so hopefully should see a result one way or another. These photos are almost 10 weeks of a 60-day Bubble gum auto..

Hi do you find defoling your plants slows its growth at all?? I've just been tucking and tucking and more tucking.

I asked myself the same question a few times now?

Where is @Seraphim19?

I have no idea where he's been.. I know he's in the UK and has disappeared before, but usually only for a week or 2.. this time however it's been quite some time and why I kind of took over the thread and helping others with questions on their autos as best as I can.. although I have over 10yrs experience growing I've only been doing Auto's for the past few months, but feel I have quite the nack for them.. I'm also on another reputable site where I get help if needed but turns out I'm also helping others over there now too... lol. I just have a passion for what I do and do plenty of research.

I find this very hard to believe.. it's difficult enough to harvest a pound from a photo period plant, even growing in vegetative state for 3-4 months and allowing it to really fill out it's hard to pull a lb.. Auto's usually don't have a long enough veg time to pull this much weight dry or wet. So, even though I don't like to call someone a liar, I'm calling bullshit.. I have a buddy who grows his autos outside and are some of the largest I've ever seen and he's lucky to pull a 1/4lb.. ask him what strain exactly, if it was outside and for godsake, where can you get some seeds... LOL

Absolutely love your style of LST= Low stress training.. Excellent work.. may I ask you what Bubblegum you have, I've been looking for a pure auto Bubblegum and I just don't believe in buying seeds.. but I do have a strain called Sour60 which is BOG's Sour Bubble (a very strong bubblegum of his) turned into an auto that finishes in 60 days, thus the name. If you've got more and are up for a swap, shoot me a message.

I'm getting ready to start my next grow and do some breeding with my AK47 x Sour60 crossing it to a Canadian friends Sour60 x SuperFreak and then adding in Assassin which has AK47 in it also so they all compliment one another making stabilizing them very easy.. Thinking of calling it Sniper 107

Hi do you find defoling your plants slows its growth at all?? I've just been tucking and tucking and more tucking.

It seems as though it has... 00 breeder notes say 60 days, and this plant is getting close to 70. Assuming I haven't stunted her in a bad way, it looks like it'll go for at least another 10 days or so. It's been cold here by our standards (but my tiny ghetto grow box is about 40C with no ventilation and really low humidity), and I have defoliated heavily 3-4 times. Despite my aggressive training and less than perfect environment, the plant is pretty healthy looking. As a noob to weed growing, I started with an auto just to see what would happen in winter... This strain seems very strong, so I reckon in summer outdoors it will really do well, and probably finish on time. I might even FIM the next one early, then defol a bit to slow it down. As I said earlier, I accidentally broke a couple of branchs of and almost supercropped the main stem during training but she seemed to love this treatment. I think Quagmire (giggity) FIMs his autos; mine could've handled it I reckon..
The training is pretty hard also. Shes laid over flat, touching the soil in many places!
My guess on the slow growth is as good as yours at the moment! I don't plan on any more trimming unless needed.
My hope is the the defol did slow it down but not stunt it too badly. Colas are small but hoping they really fatten up in next week or 2..

Hi do you find defoling your plants slows its growth at all?? I've just been tucking and tucking and more tucking.

Cutting them back to much can cause stress and hermie situations.. remember, the leaf's have a job to do and that is photosynthesis.. leaving the leafs on and tucking them is actually better. Don't get me wrong, I cut one every once in a while to get better line of sight to a bud, but learned over the years to tuck or tie them back.
when I do remove a bunch of leaf material is around week 8 of a 10wk grow.. stress at this point is not an issue and it gets light to the entire plant..but to each his own.. One thing I've learned is to stop chasing the next best thing.. if your doing something different, be it technique or nutrients others don't agree with, stick to your guns..
If it works for you keep doing it..
One thing I do regarding trimming plants is, at week #8 of a 10 week strain I remove all the leaf trim because at this point stressing the plant is not going to cause any issues..

Hi (giggity) Quags..
Yeah she is a 00 Bubblegum Fem auto. Chosen at random based on potential potency. Bought from Bonza seedbank. Would love to try breeding some seeds but thats a bit down the road for me.. Need more experience! And more room!! Got some Barneys Farm LSD and Liberty Haze that I am desparate to grow, chosen for same reason - 20-25% THC!!! Wouldn't mind crossing the LSD with say a Berry Bomb or Grandaddy Purp..try and get the potency with the colour..
My LST style is completely self taught... i just bend 'em! Funny reading forums I learn after the fact that I should do it gradually; this auto I just laid it over 90 degrees in one go..it loved it!
So no special insight I'm sorry! Wish I was an expert!!

PS Not sure if I'm allowed to mention other forums so google: Light Addict Flux if you wanna see some HEAVY defol/training with MASSIVE yeilds!!!
This guy is the king....

There are a couple of examples of close to 1 pound..350grams plus.. Google Dutch Passion record breaking auto; I think Auto Mazar and Think Different have achieved 350g+ yields...
I think these grows were under "perfect conditions" though..

Well what about gorilla seeds Auto Pounder? Their claim if done correctly the name speaks for itself!!!

These are one of the only reason I have been lurking here. I have never had alot of luck with quantity or quality with autos as I do with true breeds, but this one is very intriguing considering that we have come a long way in ruderails plants since their popularity increase in recent years (tho we have a long way to go) i figured that I would run a full set of these babies in a large hydro unit and see what happens????? What do you think I'm on the fence about it as I said never had any luck with autos ever some smoke nicely that's about it
