Think I heard of it for outdoor grow also. Maybe the cat hair helps keep moisture. ?lol everyone has their own way. Hey if my plants would shoot up and have nugs like watermelon I'd be shaving the cats and pissin in the pots.lolI heard of piss for nitrogen but not cat hair
I must be outta the loop on this whole deal. But I'm sorry about you're cat bro. I had to put my dog down a couple years ago and it tore me up inside for the longest time. Still miss that dog everyday. Beautiful plant by the way, looks very healthy!Hey guys just wanted to come here and say sorry to everyone. I know some of you don't like me and I get that and respect that but I want to apologize to all. I never meant to wrong anyone or tried to deceive anyone. I just wanted to be accepted and take care of my wife. I'm not near to give a sob story or anything just been doing lots of thinking and this morning I had to put my cat down and just wanted to vent. Sorry guys. Hope everyone has a good weekend and to the ones that don't like me I'm sorry it ended the way it did. I've got my faults and I messed up and hope someday we can meet again. You know who you are. One love and respect guys. Keep your head up and love unconditionally cause you never know what tomorrow will bring.
This isn't meant to start any drama or fights I just wanted this in the open.
Here's a lil Kushdr to make me smile. Thanks for those who have accepted me. Those who haven't I respect that but I'll prove to you I'm not what they say I am.

Have a great weekend guys!
Man I love this thread. Lots of brainstorming, love rolling through the farm just to see what's cracking in the thread. Anyways, went and picked up a bale of coco Loco for next run. I'm going to throw the rest of my coco in my soil mix I made and run them side by side. Just got a nice sample from Greenstone nutrients yesterday and I think those are the nutrients I'm going to run this round. Decided to try them out instead of the nectar since I already know how it does.

Hey bro. I used to kill it with all perlite hempys. Very simple way to grow. But u really have to stay on top of it in bloom. Can dry out very easy however if u have the time it's an amazing way to grow. Hydro rules and results. Respect bro.Never heard of cat hair or piss.lmafo ☺. But maybe it works for him. Wouldn't like the smell or piss flies.
But the perlite for medium I have heard of. Sounds cool do u have a pic of the results? Be cool to see. I'm still trying to get the zone best for the ladies. Love the info from all the fellow farmers ☺. Good vibes
@Max Frost im not sure if it was you but I saw a bog grow one time and never could find it again. It was sour bubble sour grape and I think sour strawberry logged from seed to bud. If that was your grow could you put down a link so I could go to that thread.

@Max Frost Well shoot, I probably should have taken more time to phrase that / phrased that poorly. I did not state or intend to convey that perlite, hydroton etc, are not mediums. You bring up a good point with 100% perlite and I've even done flood drain with 100% hydroton I suppose. Though I would consider those situations more into "hydro" and less as a "soiless" (semantics grr) type medium. I totally agree they are mediums. I believe the root mass in the hydroton flood drain was some of my highest, though half or more was on the flood tray and not "in" the container.
I suppose you have to watch with me, I like to look at things from all sorts of perspectives. I guess, I setup with relating medium as being adhered to or grown into and later mentioned penetration. The perspective I was relating there is if we have a volume of 1 gallon to root in and that volume is filled with, say peat or coir; (in a perfect world) there is a higher total space for roots to grow than if that same space is cut with perlite or hydroton. Hmmm, maybe another way; there is a large percentage of the physical structure of perlite that does not / cannot hold roots (internally). Whereas with peat or coir there is virtually no percentage of the physical structure that cannot hold roots. (Basically now, in my mind the only thing I do different is say "I want to run 50% perlite....cool I'll grab a 2 gallon pot instead of a 1 gallon)
I'm not intending to be "Dogging" on perlite or other, either. Just more of how I look at it now. I run 1 gallon containers and single waterings per day (also airpots), so weighing all the root masses I found ; dry weight root mass was inversely proportional to perlite percentage (*yields were similar in these tests despite root mass change). Though I was running hourly waterings with the higher perlite tests.
I suppose higher perlite levels also created a larger number of thicker branch roots and less total fine hair laterals. Whereas this new medium (with various particle sizes all penetrable) produces masses of fine laterals along with the branches. The fine laterals are almost like holding moss, when you break it up.
I suppose that root bondage pic from a page or two ago I posted was in the medium I mentioned. For instance there, a with high perlite fraction and hand watering I could not get that high of root density shown.
heck I still probably didn't explain what I'm tryin to say right, but hopefully. It's just a perspective n' all.
@Power OG Thanks for that clarification. A big D'oh on me there. I totally forgot about the organic soiless guys

Looking amazing max. I would expect nothing less. Those gavitas really kill it. Forgot what ur light set up is though. So I do believe you will like coco Loco for sure. However with ur current program I almost wonder if it's even worth it. Only reason I say that is because straight coco in a hempy mixed with perlite or whatever kills. Partially due to the drainage. Love that u made the switch. Lol. Anyway I wouldn't be scared to try but the coco Loco holds on to water a little better than plain coco. I just don't want u being excited then let down. So my advice is to keep an eye on your moisture levels. Sorry u kill it and obviously know what ur doing. Just my 2 cents. But the buds are beautiful man. Please if u feel like sharing let me know what u are doing for nutrients. Love to hear how u do it man. Apparently things are set up well. So I'll talk to u soon bro. Thanks brother! I've gone to coco/perlite now and it's doing even better! Here's a little peek. These are at 4 weeks to the day!

I'm running on a 4 week perpetual cycle so tha I harvest half every month. I just added my new flips today at the 4 week mark.

I'm getting much better results with a much more simplified formula and lower ppms. My full strength mix is right at 1300-1400ppm. I'll go to 1500-1600 for a real nute whore...but that's pretty rare. I've modified both the Lucus formua and the hempy buckets, so I guess I'm ACTUALLY using Maxy buckets and Maxy formula. lmao. I've figured out how to put it completely on autopilot...so I'm gonna be making some changes in about 2 weeks! (Stay tuned!!!)
I've just never found a simpler method that gives better results. For that matter...I'm getting MUCH improved flavor, yield, growth rates and potency from this method, than I was getting with organic soil, brewing teas, and etc. I use the exact same mix for everything from cloning, to veg, to flowering. I just cut the ppms with water for whatever level I need. (1/4 strength for clones, 1/2 strength for young veg and full strength by the time they're about 6" tall with 6-10 nodes (this is completely strain-dependent). The coco, REALLY seemed to add to the flavor and frost as much as anything I noticed immediately! I'm anxious to test out the coco loco/growstones mix and see how it compares! I really respect your opinions and know if y'all say it's da shit...then it's da shit! haha. Have a great day! Best, Max
View attachment 527775 Yep I no the shot is not the best . Until I get to town can't load camera shots . Anyhow any chance this is a male ball . Cause god dam up to 45 popped beans with no male . @Pimp T . I think I got all your bitches cause it vag city here . Gunna get the water checked and make sure there's no silver in it .

Haha nice . Noticing the mittens and booties bust be a cat burglar ☺lolSure bro. lol. Wow...that's going back to the Induction light! haha. At the time, I was living in a tiny 2 BR apt. and had my whole operation set up in one of the bedrooms. It was quite a bit diff from the Maxy Pad of today! Had allot of good times and tasty meds then tho. As a side note...the Indagrow is now pulling veg duty. It may be the best veg light I've ever used...it's certainly the worlds most expensive veg light!!! haha!! Here's the link....

DAMN bro...glad to see that the Miracle grow is workin' for ya! haha! Niiiice!!!
No prob bro! In fact...I went back and re-read your original post & I think I finally "got" what you were trying to convey! I don;t thik now you were actually saying that perlite shouldn't be counted as a medium...but rather that the volume it occupys might more efficiently be occupied with a more porous, fertile medium that would treat the roots better. Hmmm...I'll have to study on that one a bit, but I "think" that's more what you were trying to say in "max speak". lol No?
Actually...I know that urine has high levels of N...but I wouldn't use it unless I was on an episode of naked & afraid!
I'll let ya know how it works!!

Haha! Y'all have a good day!
You will love it. It will perform equally well with either nutrient. Enjoy brother.@Tnelz look what I slipped up and found at a seed n feed. So its official gonna be doin a 3x3 with a 600w gavita and 2 pots each of 5 strains comparing mills and vegamatrix in bushdoctor cocoView attachment 527800
My standing policy is...they are balls until I see those two sweet little pistils!! How old is she? Where did the seed come from? Are you SURE they're not self pollinated or S1's (fem) seed? That's a DAMN high ratio even for ol Ma' Nature...who luuuves to throw surprises at us grower types!
Sure bro...I'm more than happy to share. I'm simply giving (per gal):
Armour Si - 2.5 ml
GH Micro - 8 ml
GH Bloom - 16 ml
CaliMagic - 5 ml
Liquid Kool Bloom 5 ml
Liquid Karma - 10 ml
That's it. That usually comes in at around 16-1700 ppm, so I add water to bring it to 1325-1350. From there I cut it to 1/4 strenth for clones and young starts, and 1/2 strength for small veggers. Larger veggers get full strength as does flower room. I run my pH in a range of 5.8 -6.1 and I bubble my water, but do not use anything but tap. No RO. Best medium mix I've found is 65% #3 perlite (1/2"-3/4") mixed with 35% coco chips. This mix is killin it for me. Thanks for the heads up man. No, if I try something new....it's on a single plant first! Thanks soooo much for the kind words! Best, Max
EDIT: I did forget to add that I don't give the liquid kool bloom to my starts and veg plants tho. I pour off enuff for them before adding the pk boost for the flower room. that's the only change! Also, that my room is run on a 4 week perpetual harvest, taking down half every month.
Awesome view brother.Took a trip a lil over 14,000 feet this weekend....
.... had my head in the clouds both literally and proverbially....
