I have a "student" im helping with his first grow. hes running a glue clone he got from me under his LED light. his glue is at week 7 im at week 5. my week 5 glue under hps is blowing his week 7 out of the water. I know hes a newbie, but ive walked him thru just about every step since he got the clone. his does look nice, but the yield looks so so. his temps are good, feedings are good (he is using technaflora nutes like me, soil like me, same pot sizes, ect.). he basically emulated my grow but he uses led not hps. he is under 3x led lamps, im under 3x600. im going to give him (let him borrow) a 600w setup (w/new bulb) to run next time to see the difference in in hps vs his led setup.
what temps ,are they identical to yours?and his r/h is also the same? what led panel is he using x 3 ?
unless you are watering his plants for him its not the same grow at all imo,his idea of what feels wet or dry is probably alot different than your idea of whats wet or dry.that alone will make plants grow totally dif.also how far away are the lights.i just pulled 14.5 oz off my panel and the plant normally averages 14 -to 16 so idk.but im using the biggest one mars makes running my rooms at 78f under that light and i kept the plant close to the light, like 12 inch max from the tops on a 4.5 foot tall plant maybe 5 x 4 wide

I have no control over his grow, other than my input on things. I speak to him multiple times daily on things about his grow. I know for certain his temps are in the upper 70's, im consistent at 73* (+/-1*) lights on and light off temps. he does the hand test for height, as I do. ive taught him what to feel for when lifting his pots when they need watering. but again, I don't go over to his grow and help. I don't go in ppls grows, as you never know what might cling on to you and transfer into your grow. I know its not an apples to apples comparison, more like an apple to an apple pie comparison. but imo his should be a bit further along.

Nice secondary lens

Became the Reflectors series the secondary lens too ?

by the way about the heat and 3 or 5 watt chips...i found this :D

View attachment 536635 Hello guys,
i need a little help with this 2 autoflowering seeds from delicious seeds (Spanish brand) under a mars hydro II 400w
now it is around 8 days,i've let it germinate in water and moved in soil when the first little root was coming out.
do you think i can start to fertilize it?i will use biobuzz products.
do you think it's too small?maybe the distance from the led is too much?
i'll wait your suggestions
Hi Beglian Haze,

I think yours are growing healthy, 8 days are still short, give more patience to them! ;) Here I would like to give you some suggestions of indoor grow autoflower:

Hours of light
On the internet there are many different opinion on this matter, varying from 16 to 24 hours of light each day. We favour 18 hours a day. So from the beginning to the end of the life cycle it's 18/6.

Soil
Autoflowering cannabis seeds enjoy airy soil, relatively low on nutrients. Standard pot plant soil is not suitable for autoflowering cannabis seeds (actually, not for sativa's and indica's either, by the way...). It's much better to buy your soil at a specialized growshop. Always go for the ´Light´ mix.

If you want or need to mix your own soil, you could start with a simple basic recipe such as:

  • 3 parts compost
  • 3 parts peat moss
  • 2 part perlite, pre-wet
  • 1 part vermiculite, pre-wet
Nutrients
During the first 12-14 days you won't have to feed your plant anything but water. After this period you could start adding growth nutrients, the light type. Continue this until the plant has been flowering for a week. This will amount to about two weeks of giving growth nutrients. Flush well and then switch to flowering nutrients for about 4 weeks. Again, use the light type. About a week before harvesting you can stop giving nutrients.

And please remember, don't feed them too much. Commercial producers of plant nutrients tend to advise very high concentrations of nutrients for your plants. We usually use a lot less, especially with autoflowering cannabis strains. If the bottle reads 20-30 ml per litre, we will use 10-20 ml per litre.

Size Of Pots
Most autoflowering cannabis seeds will not become very large. So really large pots are not advised to use. You could use pots varying in content from 3 - 15 litre. The larger the pot is you use, the more roots the plant will make, the higher and larger your plant will be. Of course there's a limit there. In our experience with most autoflowering cannabis seeds 15 litres pots are the limit. Every extra space it gets is basically useless. It doesn't harm your plants either by the way.

Hi, could you please give me the website link where you found this pic?:)

Firstly, the LED light pics are our old model light pics, I'm very curious why they chose us as comparison and what's their real intention.

Secondly, I would like to mention all of you to be more cautious when you read some info from shopping website, it's obvious COB light company is trying to bash LED light company, as an advertisement pic, I'm not sure how many info I should believe in. I would love to know how did they get all the datas. :)

Business is like a war, we r used to be attacked by other companies, but it still can't change we are one of the best LED companies in the world :)

here is a good comparison led Vs cob :)

A cool video! Hard-working guy;)

In the future we will use COB as well, but not now, COB tech is not mature enough, we don't want to take this risk.

Haha, when I just saw the pic you posted, I can tell it's from Ebay

Luckily you didnt totally believe in that...;)

Our lights r not using secondary lens. From the past several months, a lot customers are asking us the PAR information because there is a company is telling customers they have the highest PAR.o_Oo_O We think they did not test the PAR in a right way, so today we are testing PAR in a more professional way.

From this video, you can see if the light has secondary lens, it has three times higher PAR in the center point, but the coverage is much more smaller. The right way of testing PAR is to test a lot point on the coverage area, but not only the center point. As a led grow light seller, we should not give customers information in a unprofessional way. so the so-called highest PAR, they just want to get the eye-balls from customers, but it is not the real information.we take it as a lying actually . Any recommendation on the PAR test? we will release a lot more PAR test video about our products very soon. We will try our best way to get the real par information for your guys, we are led grow light manufacture, and we are the seller too, so we think we have responsibility to let all growers know all the truth. Please help us to spread this information to let all growers know the right way to test PAR value, and let more growers avoid the lair. we will be very grateful

Hi Pimp T!

Mars 1600w might be really powerful to clones, so it's better to put it higher, 30 inch recommended. ;)
