thx a lot @Blaze. I have quite a bit of questions hope you don't mind. So after what you said I think I might have changed my mind. Gonna start all my dep plants way earlier. Probably end of February. Gonna veg them inside my two large sheds and get them pretty big before I put them out into the hoop houses (probably 3 or 4 weeks). . Gonna hang supplemental lighting in the hoop houses and put 4 plants into each 100 gallon grow bag and super crop them as well as pulling them down in four different directions away from the center of the pot. Grow them another three or 4 weeks and flower them around April 10th. Harvest time around the first or second week in July. I will already have a ton of large og kush plants vegging in the sheds and ready to plant into the 100 gallon pots as soon as I harvest the deps. That way I get two harvests and beat the heat of the later months in summer

Do you think the 100 gallon is a good idea?? It would be ideal because the earlier I finished my first crop the sooner I could plant my og's and I would be able to get them nice and big and still get a great second harvest.

If 100's are what you have then just go ahead and use them. The more space you give your plants the faster they will veg. This is true at every stage of development - one of the easiest ways I have found to cut down on veg time is planting clones into a 3 or 5 gallon pot instead of a 1 gallon. After 2 weeks the exact same clones will be twice as big in a 3 gallon or a 5 gallon as they will be in a 1 gallon. Doing 3 clones in a 100 gallon will work fine I think.

The end of Feb would be a good time to start your dep plants, that is similar to what I do. The last few years I started my dep plants March 1 - this year I was planning on Feb 15. I usually figure 2-3 weeks to take and root cuts, 2 weeks veg time in 4" pots under T5s, and then 3-4 weeks veg time in larger pots or in the greenhouse before I flip them. Allowing 10 weeks is usually plenty of time to go from cutting clones to a plant big enough to dep. I always shoot to be pulling my tarp by May 1, which means you want to start between Feb 15 and Mar 1. April 10th would be a good date to shoot for too, though I wouldn't flower much earlier than that. I think between April 1st and May 1st is the sweet spot to start flowering for a dep.

I'm working on building a larger, permanent greenhouse now though so my schedule is sort of up in the air for 2016. A lot of it will depend on how fast the greenhouse goes up and whether or not we hit and snags or delays (which always happens with any project it seems like).

yeah nothing ever goes quite as planned.. That is the only thing you can count on when farming.. Im gonna go ahead and use the hundred gallon bags I already have.. Also because it will be a good size pot to put my replacement plants after I harvest around the beginning of july... I think your right about not getting them to big and being careful about the "stretch" they will go through during the first two weeks of flower...

my buddy does all my clones for me so maybe i will start a little bit after you recommend (considering they will already be rooted and ready to be put into bigger pots)

I don't think I am going to do a Light dep this year...After a lot of thought I think I am just going to try and improve on what I have already been doing.. The big deciding factor was the huge plant count as well as how much other work its going to take and that it could actually decrease my full term yield... Anyways I'm having a good off season and can't wait to get back to farming.. peace

So when does everyone like to start there clones for the next season.. I was thinking about starting them early april.... That gives them about 6 or 7 weeks of solid growth before I can put them outside into the 300 gallon pots... Last year I ran out of room in the greenhouse and everything got a tiny bit root bound while I was waiting for the May 20th date to put them out... Definetly not gonna let that happen this season... When i say start my clones I mean plant already healthy rooted clones...

IIRC, Blaze likes to start in March or April. This year is REALLY up in the air for me (and I usually do seed starts, not clones) because I'm not sure if we're going to be here for a full season.

I might start mid march, I have another green house I'm gonna put up this year so I have more room to let them veg... I did a ton of seed starts the last two years and pulling males is kind of a pain- sometimes one or two of my plants don't sex until mid june then I have to yank out a 6 foot plant and replace it with a smaller clone...

The last two years I've seen some really weird crap with males showing up. One was from a friend who's been growing for decades, he knows a male when he sees a male. The other was one I thought I'd had sexed, planted it, then it dropped balls on me. I'd lost a few weeks by then, SUPER pissed!

The cover crops are doing good. So in the middle of February I'm supposed to rototill them up and cover the dirt with another tarp so they start decomposing. ??

Yep! I'm not sure you're going to have to tarp, but tarping will go a LONG way towards preventing new weed seeds from getting in there, and tilling/turning over will expose any seeds already present and force them to germinate, where the tarping will kill them.

It has a really nice 41 gallon per minute well... It doest have a house on it or a driveway up to the top part which is the nice flat area but its super awesome... Could be my next huge project--
Awesome man. Looks like there's good airflow there.

yeah its beautiful up on the top of the hill... Its gonna be a long term project but I could eventually see myself building a nice house and living on this property. Its already been permitted for a nice 2 bedroom house with septic.

I may have misread but do you make clones and veg then toss out or germinate seeds then ref and toss out? I've never vegged clones then thrown them out, always used seeds on my large outdoors.
