Thanks. I don't know the history of this plant. The problem there is that when I first grew this from bag seed (hence the ZIPLOCK name), it was producing 7 and 9. That was about 8 grows ago.

For sure, just wanted to clarify that NOT all OG's produce 3 blades.

Last night while doing some work in Veg I came across a Skywalker cutting that threw 6 blades. I have had this cut for about 4 years now.....and have never seen her throw more than 5. She can be ornery as hell, and sometimes hard to clone. Definitely one of the more finicky plants in my stable.

My mind was blown a bit. Having had this Skywalker cut for a little over 5 years now and I have never seen it produce more than 5 finger leaves. I had always been under the impression that a plant will never get healthier than it's Mother was.....but I'm learning otherwise now.

This is a cut I took a few weeks ago, and didn't notice until after it had rooted and I put her in a cup that she had thrown 6 instead of 5.

I always thought Cannabis grew odd numbers of leaf lobes. I've never, for example, seen leaves with double or quadruple lobes. Totally serious, mind=blown.

So I found myself in a situation where I had to reveg some stuff as my timing didn't quite work out how I would have liked. I went with a light schedule of 8/4, my idea was that putting 2 "full" photoperiods into a day would drop it more towards the 3 week mark rather than 6 to get back to healthy growth. And it sorta worked!!!!!It has definitely been less than 6, closer to 3-4 and most are starting normal growth again with a few stragglers that are a couple of days behind.

So just as they were coming out of this...I did something pretty dumb. I noticed my light and fans were not on when I would normally expect. I looked at my various stuff, all was lit up, so I figured I was looking at the clock wrong or was confused and then went about my day. Yeah, turned out my power strip had died on me. They sat in the dark for 12-24 hours. Normally I would just take that as a sign from above to flip to flower; not quite ready though as I need to take some clones later this week and would like to veg them a bit bigger. Anyone think the 12/12 fakeout flower start is going to do much?

edit: man its tempting to just flower them out to clear room for new and exciting incoming stuff.

You know, I really don't know *why* root bound plants tend to go into flower, I only know that the smaller the container the more likely they are to go into flower, and when put in flower they will finish more quickly. I wish I had a definitive answer on why, but what I do when I see it is I get that girl repotted. If she's in the biggest size pot I can physically handle (3gals for me), then the green material on top gets whacked down hard, then I go at her roots and whack those down hard. I've take away as much as half the root material (sides & bottom) without causing a problem.

The Triangle Kush, or TK is not The White. They are both Florida strains and I've been growing the TK on and off since the late 80's. I know this is an old thread but I just came across it. The TK does in fact have 3 bladed leaves it's entire life cycle and the White is a much shorter plant that doesn't stretch nearly as much. The TK has very thin stalks and stretches about 300% after the flip. It yields very small because of this and it's overall structure is almost impossible to bush out. I know there's so much debate regarding the TK but I can assure you that it is a special plant that was originally brought from Hawaii by surfers in the New Smyrna Beach area of Florida and has also been known as "Crippy" which later became slang for high grade but I really don't think many people outside of the small circle have the true TK. I see DNA says they have acquired it and have made a couple crosses with it. The Tahoe OG is very similar and I think is possibly a cross with it, or maybe the real TK with just some different environmental triggers that made it different. It definitely yields more and is not nearly as potent. I ordered some of the Florida OG as DNA and others call it to see what it's really about and plan on doing a journal on here soon. But for all those who doubt the TK I can most assuredly tell you that it is the stuff of legends and the strongest I've ever had. It has a very sativa high and I have seen people get sick from just a bong rip. It's as potent as some of the best hash or wax I've had and lasting effects are incredibly long. I don't give hype when not due and I have nothing to gain from doing such as any I have is kept for head stash for special occasions. I get this every time I re veg my White Diesel (The White X ECSD). It does it along the nodes and on some of the tops as well. Very strange and definitely cool to see but it's a mutation that takes a few weeks to grow out of. Best, Irie.

Very cool, thanks for this information. I don't believe I've ever seen TK, but what you just described is The White I knew and grew. Short, bushy, never stretched much at all, let alone 300% post flip? Holy shit!

Yes, she's a stretcher for sure. I was told along time ago after trying many different methods to gain yield to take a cut from a well developed mom and flower it a week or two after rooting and run it S.O.G. as that's the most efficient way to grow it because you will never get high numbers per plant. I usually just focus on one or two main colas instead of trying to grow a monster bush out of her anymore. I have another OG of unknown pedigree that stretches 3x as tall after the flip also and it produces a little better but not the same quality. Just dense golf balls of lemon funk. I usually flip around a foot tall and she finishes about 3 feet tall or more. I think a lot of the best strains just don't produce with the exception of a few rare cuts like the Glue. I have thought about crosses with the TK but I think the quality will suffer and it won't be the same so I just run a lot of small SOG style or just throw a few in just to have a little in the jar at all times lol. That's one way I know that there's a lot of fake TK cuts when people say they're getting 6oz's a plant and I get around two and I'm happy. OR I just suck at growing her lol. Seriously I know a lot of people locally that grow it and they'll give you a cut before a nug because it just doesn't produce and you just can't seem to let it go, especially when done right. I think it's the Thai that gives it the structure and potency because I have seen Thai crosses that look very similar and the stalks are so thin they don't do well outdoor here in the high wind and rain. I truly think it's the coveted cut from FL. and I have heard from J a well known grower in the local circle that it is indeed the OG that the Cookie Fam uses and I tend to believe him because he's a straight shooter and has plenty of $ and wants NO recognition and most of all he has some of the craziest Cherry and Cookie phenos I've ever encountered. One he calls Cinnamon Girl that was supposedly involved in a trade with other cuts and he has pictures hanging out with Berner, so if that isn't proof I don't know what is lol. Best, Irie.

Btw Sea, what were your overall thoughts on the White? Still keep her around? I know most people don't, not because she's not great but I think people expect more due to all the hype. I will say it does well in crosses as Bodhi and others have shown and I have an excellent cross with ECSD that is much better than the White itself. Best, Irie.

Wow, that is odd with 6 blades. Does it stay like that once the mutation has occurred? Btw my mom is a horticulturist and she works extensively with Ivy and almost all of the different varieties come from a simple leaf mutation, so it's not a bad thing at all. I thought my 3 blades were cool 'till know :/ lol. Best, Irie.

I lost her to root aphids some years ago. She has fantastic bag appeal and people who don't smoke a lot seem to love her. I prefer heady Satties myself, stuff like Jack Herer, Jack's Cleaner, even ECSD I feel is a better smoke. It is nice that White doesn't really stretch a whole lot, but that can also bite you in the ass. She's a damned bitch to get cloned, I don't miss that one bit.

Lol. Yeah she is extremely hard to root, I've lost more cuts from the White than probably any strain. You definitely had the real cut by what you have described. And she is a couch locker! I love my Sativas and the TK is said to be Indica dom, but the structure and the uplifting very intense head high is sativa for sure. And I think the dominant genetics are Thai so that would make sense. I think a lot of OG's are actually more sativa dom if not crossed to a true Kush. The name is really misleading as their is no Kush in most of the real OG's. From my understanding it's Mexican Sativa X Colombian X Thai, so I don't see how much indica is truly in the mix. Maybe an Afghan cross in there but I dunno. I think a cross back into some true Colombian genetics could make the TK an excellent outdoor Sativa and I would try it if I knew I could get some real Colombian. My dad used to talk about the Colombian Gold from the early 70's as he spent a lot of time in the D.R. and it was the most prominent strain there at the time. He said he hadn't had any of the authentic GC since the early 80's and he would grow a few from the rare seeds you would find if you were lucky. I remember walking up to big Christmas trees that were amazing specimens that would grow 8' tall easily. I had some real CG only a couple of times but I'd definitely remember her from the first pull. Legendary Sativa status for sure! Best, Irie.
