Hi all, it's been a minute so thought I would update. The sickly blue dream...I pruned the bad branch down, leaving just one stem to see what she does. So far, no problems. The bad branch looked heathy everywhere but the leaves, no rotting or insect damage. The rest of the plant is doing fine.
Things are slowly starting to flower. The bigger the plant, the slower they are flowering, especially the 8 footers. Taking pics of young buds with an iPad really leaves something to desire, little buds just aren't impressive. One blueberry gum flowered early from lighting transition issues. She never reveged, the buds started swelling and she will provide us with about 70 colitas to tide us over until harvest and cure. She has swollen up well, the leaves are starting a nice fade but the plant has little in the way of visible trichomes. The smell is pleasant but not very strong. I took a nice colita this morning to try it over Labor Day weekend, next.
Petunia brought a zen pen and some oils, we have hit the 21st century. She also brought an entire gram of blue dream from the dispensary. Yes, a whole gram just for us, lol. Gee, I can't wait till we have some quality on hand. I hope you all had a great weekend.

A bit of time for an update. We chopped the accidentally flowered Killer Kush because we needed some fresh buds. Some of you remember, but we had a terrible two years in a row growing our cannabis.
We did have some totally shitty bud from a plastic garbage bag circa 2014 that we have been smoking. Anyway, it was nice to have some fresh, if uncured and larfy green to try.
I tell you this so when I say something like " it tasted pretty good", you'll know from where I come. I will say it did not taste like hay or freshly mowed lawn.
The KK lasted just long enough to allow us to wait on taking any blueberry gum, our other early accidental bloomer, but one that looks like she has promise.
The BB Gum has about 70 nice size tops, has finished swelling but only a very small percentage of pistils have faded, and against, very little in the way of trichomes.
I have started taking a couple of tops to dry and trim in order to observe the differences in looks, taste and smoke as this plant continues to mature. Hardly necessary to point out that we get to smoke our experiment.
Next up we will be getting to a Blue Cheese from DinaFem. She will be our first plant that flowered in natural photoperiod fashion.
The breeder claims she can finish by the end of September and our plant looks like she could do just that. Although we topped her to prevent big colas subject to mold and rot she has grown some very large flower tops. We will have plenty of the blueberry gum by then that we can watch our garden for the perfect harvest time...until we find ourselves looking at the weather forecast that may dictate the season is ending, ready or not!

Hey Buddy, Hope your weekend has been nice. Still trying to pay last months rent working the whole weekend. I'm glad to see that you are starting to get to sample some of your hard work this season. I still think your early bloomers are better in tune with this season for your region then your others based on there genealogy and nothing to do with lighting. Here's to a great September!:)

Thanks friend. We are having a nice and quite weekend while on the other side of the highway, all the farms are a amping up for the influx of visitors that start now and continue till Christmas buying apples, pumpkins and Christmas trees, farm fresh pies, fudge, etc.
It looks as though we are to have an early end to the good weather this year. Some of our big girls are definitely lagging in flowering.
We wanted some variety in smoke as well as harvest times. We may lose on that gamble. The LSD and loud dream will probably finish okay. Wish us luck.

I just remembered We also have that 707 headband a sweet 710 cheese that seem like they can finish on time.
We usually get exceptable weather until October 15th. After that I consider ourselves lucky for each day we have. Our temperatures remain suitable through November but it is always a strong rain and wind storm that denotes the official end of our season and those are usually forecast in time for us to scramble and finish chopping.

Things are coming along. A few of the plants are showing signs of nutritional stress. I gave a feeding if growilla bud a week or so ago and today a mix of fish meal, fish bone meal and kelp. I ran out of fish bone meal, I wish I could have added more.
Hopefully I got the mixture right and watered in properly. The next few days will tell. I really need to get more method to my soil maintenance in the future.
The temperatures this week are just hovering around 80 f. It's usually hotter this time of year.
We continue to harvest the blueberry gum a few colas each week. It's interesting to finish buds at differing stages and note the changes that take place.
