I 2nd running open hoods now that im tryin it out. Setting my 4x8 tent up n movin around knocked my hood n it fell shattering the glass. Was pissed but only dimmed down the 1 light i Was using thru veg n held good on temps. The cold weather came just in time, now flipped to 12/12 with 2 1ks and temps stay below 80. Run at night so its a help. Ironically now cold is an issue. Just got a smalll heater today, tomorrow gonna put it on a timer to kick on once light are off. Somewhere between 6am and 9am its hit down to 67 in there.
That's actually my problem. I have a big ass fan venting the light but it was dropping temps too low. Once I got the fan speed controller dialed in its been better.

I was wondering when that post was coming back to get me  Gotta admit, I trained the shit outta that fan leaf  I've been doing my best to read what they're telling me. Just added Epsom foliars and they're not showing woody red stems anymore. They've been a little droopy but they're getting better as I improve their environment.
I only make fun of the situation because I did the exact same thing!
Lol we live and we learn...

My Temps hit 67 pretty much every time the lights go off.. I don't see any effect from it. Have you seen problems?

Lucky. Even turning my inline all way down its too much cold gettin pulled in from it. Went this am to test heater idea. 30 mins after lights off tent was 56 degrees. Turned the lil heater mid power n observed. Got up to 75 after 15 minutes n held there. Really shoulda read the details more on amazon. A real thermostat would of been nice, not a damn dial knob lol

I've been around 75° lights on and around 67° lights off. Wouldn't mind a few degrees warmer but I'm thinking when I flip and put a 1000w HP's in there I'll get to the range I want. I may end up running a duct to the room I'm in from the furnace. I'm sure that would help lol

Damn, dude, why didn't you tell me you had a log going? I just stumbled across this. I kinda skimmed through the last three pages, so I don't know if anybody has addressed this, but next time you germinate some seeds, just throw them in the full-on soil mix and put 'em under your 600 watt MH. All of that "You have to plant seeds in a starter soil mix and sprout them under CFL's" or whatever is total bullshit. I put my seeds in the same soil mix they're gonna get flowered in, keep my light (which is equivalent to 1000 watt HID) about two feet above the pots and I've never had an issue.

Think about it: outside, plants develop seeds and drop them into the dirt underneath full sun. And then they grow. Easy as pie. Same thing indoors. You don't need to do all that other stuff, just plant them and let them do their thing. I actually think starting them in a "mellow" soil mix underneath "mellow" lighting and then transplanting them and switching light strengths and all that actually does them more harm than good. Or not harm, exactly, but I believe that plants benefit greatly from just sticking the seeds in the dirt and throwing a big ol' light over them. Like I said, never had a problem before.

Anyway, yeah, keep this shit going. I'll be following along.

I should also add that I've planted seeds in pots outside in full sun. Again, not a problem. They just sprouted and grew. That's what plants do haha.

Thanks for popping in brotha! I did CFLs on my first run because I didn't have everything yet. The last round I just popped I'm gonna try what you said and let them be under the 600w right away. As far as soil its actually coco/sphagnum mix so I can just feed them accordingly.

Get a temp controller, in line fan and hook it up so it turns on and pulls heat in from your bedroom where you keep it in 70's.
I have a temp controller hooked up. My problem is even at idle the fan is an overachiever. I don't have the cash to get a separate fan for the filter so I'm using one fan to cool and exhaust the tent. I don't have the filter hooked up yet but I'm assuming it will help once it is

Hiya incognito :) Your Lab looks cool, nice and tidy lol better the area mine are in atm lol… Hopefully I'll be able to get a tent soon. I just posted some new pics, day 52 already :)

No I think you said you had a fan SPEED controller.. not a temp controller. The temp controller has 2 plugs. 1 for heat the other for AC. You could hook up a in-line fan to the Heat part of it with a hose coming from the warm part of your house. It would alway pull a little air from your house even when off. Because of your exhaust/filter fan.... but when the temp turned it on it would really pull warm air from your house with perfect rh too... and it would shut off after it reached set temp so as not to over heat the tent..
Will cost about $60 for the set up...

I'm not sure the model but I believe it is a day/night temp based fan speed controller he has.

I would imagine that the setting just makes the fan on night setting go as low as it can. And it's just pulling the same cold air in from the room. Now he could probably use that with an intake fan but then he would have to run his exhaust fan full blast or get another controller. I think I remember now. It's a titan controller

Day / night temp based huh... guess I not for sure about them.. do u know what kind it was?

I have one. It is of the same brand as his. Just not sure if it's the same model. It works wonderfully. I set it up when I set the tent up and I never fussed with it since. Takes all the hassle out of fiddling with your fan speed controller everyday.

You pick your day/night fan idle speed+type. Set your max temp.

Then run your temp probe to canopy height.

Now the sensor has feedback via temp sensor & the photocell. It can now control the climate.

It works great. Fan speed increases when furnace kicks on. While decreasing when temps drop.

The low temp setting shuts the fan off if temperature of environment is °10 below max temp setpoint.

Ya deff not needed to just grow a few treats. But im RDWC all the way, not even 2 secs thought about it. Since I already have everything that i need, im in no hurry. I will pick up the auto dosers first as that will really nake life easy for me. Every other aspect of my grow is in line. I flux a lot in early veg with PH.,, and i flux a lot in flower with EC because of how fast they consume... So controlling them to 100% is my goal...
