Hmmm this gets me thinking about the 20 or so bagseeds I've collected out of the bags the last few years. They should all be good strains grown by a friend of mine. would definitely be fun to experiment with! I need to stop worrying about what I'm going...

I need to stop worrying about what I'm going to order next, and see how far I can get with what I already have!

I agree you should work from your bagseed first. It's old school smoke so you may be suprised what you find.

Some people don't like bagseed.
They say it is risky.
Some people don't mind the risks.

But with time and patience you'll find nice stable females you like. And if you give them a good environment and some love they can turn out just as good as bought genetics.

I'm personally gonna keep running mostly bagseed and freebies. I find with love they are usually better than any black market stuff locally. Most times it comes out a few notches above how it was when the original grower grew it .

You can also use them as tools for learning new techniques you are unfamiliar with. Manifolding, lst, hst, topping, Supercropping, defoliation etc. And you won't feel terrible if/when you mess up.

Or dialing in your environment.
Lighting, ventilation, intake filtration, media types, nutrient regimen, organic, synthetic etc.

Save your bought genetics and have some fun with the bagseed :)

I'm burning up my bag seed stash to get my room dialed, then I'm ordering a bunch of shit. I'm super worried about the future availability of genetic material

I'm in the same boat as you^.

Burn up bagseed and freebies.
While stocking up on genetic material that won't be available in the future.

Hell yeah. I'm running 5 bagseed myself. It's fun a little surprise at the end of the rainbow. Ya know. :)

You've definitely inspired me!

I'll probably start 8 of these next go round and hopefully end up with at least 3 nice females. What's the story with the disappearing genetics?

Well with legalization and commercialization increasing in force.

Over time the businesses will realize that it's in their best interest to keep the elite genetics on lock down.

And if seeds are produced they will be good but the best will remain out of the gene pool.

This will help funnel money into businesses hands for people wanting to buy top shelf product.

Over time what is available will become watered down. So there is a theory that this point in time that this rennasaince of cannabis is making much available now.

But over time it will become regulated and turned into a business.

So stock up now.

I'm in a state where 40% of recreational licenses will be given to growers with total flowering canopy of 3000 square ft or less. The other 60% will go to those with more than 3000 square ft of canopy.

We are starting with 800,000sqft total for the state, and if that isn't enough to meet supply needs, the state must expand.

I plan on doing whatever necessary to ensure at least a 10 block (1000 square ft) license when they become available early next year. The only problem is you have to use all of the space you apply for, or the state reallocates it to other growers.

Concerns are also rising with the testing of the cannabis. There are big problems in Oregon right now due to regulations on pest control and testing procedures.

I am definitely interested in breeding my own high quality genetics in the long term. I work a lot of hours in the Summer, but it will be an opportunity to get a feel for tending to my plants less often and allow me to save money to really expand and get serious next Fall when things slow down again.

I'm glad to be a part of this community where there are so many opinions to help guide me down what hopefully will be a long green path of greatness.

It's going to be a fun next 5 years I believe

When I first grew I had a blue dream cut and grew a bagseed that ended up being male. I waited too long to cull him and got seeds. The result of that random cross was the two tall girls in to the right. Still have some of those beans. I feel like the term bagseeds just has a bad rep.

Here is an update on #3 in the micro tent.

The tops had a growth spurt after last watering, and a couple of the Supercropped tops regained vertical stance. The problem is they got to close and a few got lightly burned tops from the HO T5

Knowing I couldn't control the height anymore. I had to turn off the 4 center t5 bulbs and I think I'm gonna finish the grow with just the outside 4 bulbs running.

I'm just hoping the vegetation isn't too dense for the 4 bulb deficit.

Just doing this dropped tent temps to 79°. Next time I flower in the micro tent. I will need a pot size that would allow me a lower starting height. That is if I want all 8 bulbs on.

This is a flawless run man, beautiful stuff.

Last few times I made rso my wife was complaining about the smell.

So I engineered a plan for making new batches of rso.

I use a portable single element electric burner placed inside my tent with a pan just wide enough to hold my silicone pan. I have much clearance on all sides.

I disconnect the carbon filter because I'm venting outside directly. No need to waste a quality carbon filters life on some iso filtration.

Now when I zip the tent shut not only does all the air get evacuated from the house to the outside.

But the air constantly cycles in the tent helps to evap purge the iso while in the water bath on low temp. You can see the flange on the left is the intake. It blows air directly over the iso.

That means no fans blowing dirty air over it because the intake air is filtered already.

It is working excellently!
I just reread this today and I'm ok with your bride reading it. When your Mom complains about stuff it always reminds me of Charlie Brown and when the parents spoke and complained. I told here she reminded me of that sound, waaa waaa waaa waaa waaaaa. She threw a fryin pan at me :sweating: ........ LOL........... Dont try this at home. But tell H to chill and relaxxxxxxxx. :p Or I'll come to PA and sleep on your couch for a month. That will make her very very quiet!!

That last picture just utters the phrase "STRENGTH" to me. Glorious.
Ya he really does have the touch. He got that from me LMAO What you can't see from the canopy spread is the 25 gallon home depot tub this bullfighter was trained in she measured apprx 5' across. Hes trying to beat me. Not any time in the near future Son. Better pack a lunch and a bag o chips. :p
She yielded 1.85 units :)
