I will look into this more. Especially since a scare I had a couple weeks ago. My family held their breath waiting on results of a MRI. I have lost all vision in my right eye so everyone was thinking a tumor. Scan was normal so dr thinks my intratical chemotherapy caused the vision issue. So them thinking equals a lot of testing for me. Main thing is no tumor. Thank you for that info DR
Thanks for sharing your travels brother. I pray the road gets smoother in the very near future.

Hi I'm a recent Burkitt lymphoma survivor. During my treatment I rediscovered an old friend. It had been 15 years since I last smoked. I was surprised to how it really helped me get through my treatments. What is a good beginners strain. My favorites have been platinum Girl Scout cookies, blue cheese, Jack the Ripper, Sour Diesel, and Grandaddy purp. All the different strains intrigue me, the ways plants can be crossed to create a new species of cannabis. My background is in building controls for hvac and lighting for hospitals. When I found out how major growers are using the same systems I use I was like ......wow I do that. I'm interested in learning the proper ways to grow these marvels of nature.
Hello there, I'm a cancer surivor myself, stage 4 liver and It was years that I gave up smoking then the chemo treatments started and so far I have been doing chemo for over 3 1/2 yrs. now. Then my friend brought my a joint one day as I was feeling pretty sick and like WOW my nausea was better and my hunger came back. I have told all my Drs. and they all said if you got it smoke it. I was shocked!!! My pain Dr. gave me Marinol 5MG tabs. I told him that I used marijuana cause of my cancer and he gave me these to help out. I've been growing now for over a year. I like to grow auto's as they only take between 60-80 days. I wish you nothing but the best and always keep a positive attitude. Much respect, Peace Out..

High Evil, I'm sorry you're going through all of this. Obviously we'll help you out.
Strain wise, White Widow can be a picky beeotch at times. Now I'm talking about the original White Widow. The genetics have been watered down a bit since WW won the cup. So this one may be a bit easier. You might try that Jock Horor for your next seed you pop. She's Nirvana's copy of Jack Herer - basically. She'll be one of the easiest strains you grow. here's a little background on the strain: http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Jock_Horror/Nirvana_Seeds/
compare that to this: http://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Jack_Herer/Sensi_Seeds/ - the real Jack Herer.

great genetics can mean the difference in growing ok medicine and medicine that does what you need it to do. There's lots of great stuff in the store on this site too.

I would think you'd want a nice indica dominant girl, though, for your pain and nausea.

so what about lights? T5's would do you fine in veg. You can get great cheap T5 bulbs too. What are you thinking about for flower? sorry if I missed it if you posted it earlier?

In what medium will you grow? What nutrients? what lights for flower?

Thanks for reply bro.

It will be a 3x3 space with cob lighting Cree 3590. A recirculated drip in 100% perlite 12 gallon hempy pot, gravity drain back to a 25 gallon res.

Strains is a toss up between royal purple Kush from emerald triangle or liberty haze from barneys. I'm leaning to the Kush myself.

Still deciding on a nute line. The awesome people here at the farm have been offering help. Believe me I need all the help I can get lol. Suggestions always welcome

I forgot I haven't updated this thread in awhile. It's been a slow go getting everything ready. Had some minor issues with lights but everything is now good. Working on feed system the holidays have me slowed up. I'll post some more pics of room soon.

Do yourself a favor and throw those Barney's Liberty Haze on the sidelines. I have seen it time and again that they are VERY poor genetics. Little to no trichomes, loose and airy. Just a heads up, you would be doing yourself a disservice to pop those first. Have yet to see ANYONE actually like Liberty Haze strain.

This is actually royal purple Kush from emerald triangle. Not sure if that's any better.

I'm purely all soil, not sure what I could say to help. Only done one DWC grow and (even though still somewhat successful) hated it. I like to hand water my ladies.

Finally started!!!! Seedling was a week old Monday. Lights are 2 ft away is this a cal/mag issue? Only been using distilled water and a little rapid root very diluted. View attachment 664635
I would move the light up to about 3 1/2 to 4 feet for seedlings. If you use un PHed distilled water it is probably about 7 or 8 ph so you should add some ph down and bring the water down to around 6 to keep it happy in soil less.

grab a pack of something from Bodhi. Mr Nice has excellent genetics too. As does a plethora of other seed companies. Don't go with something cheap and new. Dont go with the newest fad. Go with something proven. If you want cheap, get Nirvana. I've gotten some real gems from Nirvana in the past. Not to blow up the competition. sorry abotu that.

@DrMcSkunkins made sure water is 6 and lights are close to 4 ft now I raised them up more. I'm not planning on another feeding till everything dries out some. @keiksweat i imagine I will end up in soil just wanted to try hydro, still might end up there if my diy feed system doesn't work how I like. Any recommendations on ready made soil? Just to cover my ass lol. @guymandude all these strains are new to me. 15 years ago all we could get around here was brick weed, except for once a year when we had awesome bud we called it mountain bud out of Tennessee. I will trust all of y'alls recommendations on true dank. I did like PGSC when I was going through treatments. Now in remission and just want to enjoy life and grow my own meds. Everyone here has been awesome with sharing the knowledge like y'all and @jumpincactus just for starters.

For indoor after a long time growing outdoors dodging copters my indoor career I actually started out with hydro and mastered it real easy in spite of everyone telling me to start in dirt cause hydro was too difficult. I took to it like a frog to water!!!!! I will say if maximum yield is your goal most would agree that a dialed hydro will out yield indoor container dirt grows. If you decide to go with soil I would highly recommend that you go organic as best you can.Especially if you are able to either do your own composting or have a worm farm for fresh casting supply. For sourcing amendments of good quality here is a site that rocks. Check them out . https://buildasoil.com/
