If i'm reading the chart wrong then we are both wrong.

Even if tge chart means minutes the highest length is 51 minutes showing for 201 degrees. @rmoltis said an hour, i said 90 minutes thats a long way past 51 minutes. You saud if HR achieved shatter consistency he nailed it.

He can't have nailed it and be pattially decarbed.

The effects is all that matters to me. If the effects arent there i'm wasting my time so next batch i will USS more heat or more tine. To get the effects i need.

Its all opinion vs Experience.

Did you know its possible to decarb weed without using heat at all?

About 6 months ago i put ground buds in a smoothie with blue berries, Whey protein, fruit Juice, etc.

The Whey protein had soy lecithin (SP) in it. There was 0 heat applied other than tge blender going maybe 30 seconds to blend everything'. About 25 minutes later i was high as a kite.

No sir it is not.

It takes longer to get into buds abd convert THC a to THC.

As a thin layer of liquid there's nothing to slow down the decarb process.

he nailed the shatter type consistency of the product we are looking for.... it dosent have to be fully decarbed to get a buzz, but unless it is fully decarbed your only ingesting a small sample of the possible thc avaliable.

man you need to study that chart.

the chart,,,,, they are all bell curves meaning the conversion from thca to thc maxes out at the top of the arc which appears to be somewhere around 14 or 15 according to lines 4 and5.

now lets look at curve 2... after 51 minutes it has risen to roughly a 5 or maybe a 5.5 and thats from a starting point of 3 and it still has to get to 15 to be fully decarbed.

that is why i say that @rmoltis sample is not fully decarbed and its definitely not "RSO" imo because it has not fully decarbed.

all the information i have read pertaining to RSO has gone on to stress the importance of a COMPLETE decarb. i used a heat gun others use the drops of water during the final purge.

ps; and a water bath is not hot enough to decarb efficiently (time wise) compared to the recommended oil bath.

Decarboxylation is disassociating the carboxyl link (COOH) that turns the C-21 phenolic diterpenoid into a C-22 carboxylic acid. When you do that to a concentrate, the carbon, oxygen and hydrogen visibly bubble off as CO2 and H2O vapor.

I use the bubbles, rather than the clock, to determine where I'm at in the process, but have found that at 250F, the time is close to the graph showing about 27 minutes to hit 70%.

thanks for stoping by Graywolf,

what would be your best guess as to the amout of time required to achieve your 70% at a set temperature of 201 deg. tia

o Im here but people talking stuff I don't know for sure so im just watching i decar in a water bath at 180 200 in a slow cooker for about a hour

I thought you only need to decar when there will be no heating like when eating
but with dabs u vap it so super high heats being used

it depends.... maybe you want to keep thca , the cbda and the other a's in tact. heres a couple snaps to show maybe why one would not want to convert all the acids.

311 is the boilig point of thc delta 9, temperature at or above will degrade the delta 9 over time. kind like your tricomes start to go dowh hill when they turn amber. well this thc delta 9 part turnes amber (so to speak) at 311 degrees.

thars why Graywolf says that his aims is for 70% decarb hes trying to avoid a couch lock type high. he watches the bubbles and knows from experiance that 250 is his set point and it takes approx 30 min to hit 70% full decarboxylation.
