Whats up fellers.........got it trimmed, and got a nap.

I have been having some tomato seedlings get stuck in the seed shells after they emerge. Turns out the shell is dry so the seedling cant shrug it. I have been placing a drop of spit on each bound seedlings seed shell, in a few hours the seedling throws off the seed shell.

Trippy huh.......

I have 21 baby goats arriving a week from tomorrow. Have a buddy who raises meat goats, but doesnt have enough pasture for them all. So well pasture em, and then buy the females, to start our own herd. I hope the damn things stay in.

I hope your right. being young we have a chance I think. Luckily everything important in fenced anyhoo, neighbors cows seem to get out quite a bit.

I will start em around my hog pens then move em around the property, have 14 acres of pasture to use. Well use livestock panels and make small 3 x 3 panel pens, and hop scotch em around the place. have about a half acre of working pens just west of the house a half mile, theyll probably end up there before its all said and done. I have to build a goat shed (loafing shed) to winter the nannies.

In case anybody is wondering, we HATE the fuck out of some goat meat and milk, id put it right up there with eating snot on the nastiness scale. The herd will be completely for sale. We have alot of mexicans here, so the meat is in good demand.

Speaking of assholes. When i was in recovery the other day when the nurse woke me up she says that i had a big hemorrhoid, i looked up at the wife and said yes she's right here. Wife said the nurse bout fell in the floor. Bad part of this is i don't remember saying it. Know the wife hasn't forgotten.

Judging by my past experience, if your fence won't hold water, it won't hold goats. Fuckers are smart when it comes to escaping. Stinky pricks, too. Pet a buck, wash your hands in hot water and soap twice, and you'll still smell 'em. Yuck.

I will bucket train em with whole corn, feeding in the evening on the ground so I can catch the damn things if they escape. We are using the same fence setup this buddy of mine uses, he runs goats by the hiway sometimes and they dont escape.

I expect the occasional escaper, just like with cows, but just like cows, repeat offenders will go to the salebarn. If it gets to be a problem I can run a hotwire on top of the fence. I have an old homemade charger that will surely make a believer out of an escaping goat..........lol

As far as petting em, naw........we dont make pets out of farm animals, we have 3 dogs. Last thing I want is an 800 lb steer rubbing on me to get petted. dangerous. Also goats have evil demon eyes, so im not a huge fans of em, although the babies are cute. Nope no goat petting, and yea, the billies can be rank. I have seen a billy goat give itself head and piss in its own face, nasty.
