When you have huge buds and late rain outside or higher humidity inside cannabis is more susceptible to mold. I've grown both huge and small. The sun produces large colas and sometimes if you just grow that one enormous cola you may have mold in late season. If you create more tips of realistically decent sized colas the plant has a better chance of not getting infected. I also don't like how much space and time it takes to produce large plants for me personally because I don't have the space. But what ever floats your boat. It works better with my super soil method. And when I did outside I like all the plants to make it through, my seasons are short. From my experience also breaking apart large buds from outside. Some plants that aren't gorrila glue and top strains have a more difficult getting as frosty in some of the larger portions as when I have multiple sites it seems in general healthier bud. Just my own experiences. I'm sure different locations and rooms/growers vary. Work with what you need to get er' done right? That's my bottom bud lol.

Yeah but mold has nothing to do w thc content in relation to size of plants which is what this thread is about and as i sed earlier in the thread i prefer small plants too

No pissing contests @Wolfe..we all hav r own battles as far as short growing periods, high humidity, low humidity, high temps, low temps...theres no way to totally agree with anyone unless yur in same region.every thread is pretty relative..just our opinions.like a belly button everyone got one u kno.

I was told that I grow my plants too big. That if a grew smaller plants I would get higher THC. Of course that was from a small plant guy. Also a good grower
Lmfao.. this is exactly the opposite as other people believe. .. has nothing to do with size of plant... its how the plant is treated in flower

My biggest plant I've grown so far just yielded %30.14 on an oil extraction from medium buds.

I'm not gonna say size caused it.
But it was a big plant.

I'd say if the genetics were identical big or small if given love and time they would share similar %'s . They would just be different sizes.
I agree. I've grown big and small and never noticed a difference in quality. Just making sure because like most growers quality is very important to me.

tighter as in smaller squares.im not knocking u so dont take it that way..smaller squares equals more tops(and its too hard tucking any smaller then 2"×2" squares).thats all im saying.n everyone got there own way but u can lay on mine literaly wen done.i tie all one way(as in left to right)every 2"....then when you do your up in down strings if u wil,1st string go over, under, over, under with each string..your nxt string will start under,over,under,over...hope that makes sense..u keep repeating and make sure to start opposite of the last string u did
No I don't feel like I'm being knocked. I love the feedback. I weave the same way. Over then under. 2"x2" is too small for me. 6"x6" is what i use and might be a little big. When I make some more screens I might try a 4"x4" and see how that works.

The real question is how many people have really got the time to let their plants veg out an extra few weeks. I'm guessing, not many...

Oh have no fear. .. if little plants made shitty pot... then sogs wouldn't be so popular

They are popular for fast cash cropping.

And no one said "shitty pot" I don't think. Doesn't it stand to reason that a plant that has had time to mature and store more in its larger and many more leaves could produce a more complex set of canabanoids?

In my research and my experience of planting or cloning and experimenting on a plant or two per week individually or in side by sides for a few years now this one is no myth.

I kept my plants small for quite some time before noticing. I used to flower 10" to a foot tall. Now I go almost twice that time. And it sure doesn't make things easier for me. When I rush one in now to fill a space in flower. I notice again.

I also took clones from immature plants out of rotation as they don't stand up to newer ones from older plants. In growth or potency.

I know a lot of people that do sogs and dont even sell....

This is not a new topic hahaha

Im not a big fan of ed either... his zero tolerance sucks butt and its expensive.

Yeah he has gone big for the hydro store and industry money that's for sure. I am only interested in the science and data. I don't actually like the guy that much but he put the work in. And it still stands today. He told everybody to use far red for faster flowering in the 70's.

And that thread you linked goes no where. And I realize the thread title here but clones wouldn't prove anything. They are all only as old as the time they were cut.

No one is talking about an imature vs. a mature clone even. Just size of the plant. That is not the point I made.

And my patients are the real test. They are always a blind test too. I don't talk growing with many of them.

Dont get me wrong.. the dude is like a pioneer in the pot game... but i have a hard time trusting most salesmen

Same with seeds... i know people that have almost zero veg time and end up with fire weed.
