Air conditioners actually dehumidify the air.
By my home condition measurements my house went from under %20rh (%1rh in tent) before using my a/c . To over %50 after I started using it. On top of that I needed to pull out the dehumidifier to control it further.
So it sounds good that they dehumidify.
But my home condition measurements show the opposite.
When you take warmer air and cool it down the relative humidity rises.
The airs ability to retain moisture decreases while the moisture content in the air remains the same.
since it is called "relative" humidity. The percentage actually rises.
Leaving less available moisture holding capability in said air conditions.
