you need to get a 55 gal res, so you can turn the ro on in the morning, and by the time you get home, it will be full or close. That way when u change out the system, you have everything ready.. quick and efficient... I let you know right now, you may love spending time with your oplants, but after a year, it can get old! cleaning the system, trimming the herb,,, shit gets old...If any noob out there is reading this post, thinking it's a half decent idea to run 6 5GAL dwc....DO NOT DO IT and go rdwc. Seriously....wtf was i thinking. You guys in this forum should have put me in my place! Put it this way, i'm not scared of rdwc no longer after having to change all the water for fresh nutes. As a matter of fact...this is going to be a long process. My RO tank only holds 4.5 gallons of water and the instructions say it could take up to 2 freaking hours for it to refill. I woke up at 6:30am to start changing the water out, i got one done so far, waiting for RO tank to fill. My lights go out at 10am until 4pm...This seriously sucks.
One or two 5GAL bucket dwc i can see it...anymore than that good luck to you. In my head adding more buckets didn't sound that bad, but let me break this down for you in stoner terms so you understand the struggle. I purchased a regular old school red push mower to cut a fairly big yard with hills. In my head i got this, it won't be that bad i said. Every time i cut grass, I'm kicking myself for not getting a self propelled mower. Guys the struggle is real. Don't be regular push mower man, be self propelled and rdwc man.
that is hella high! You should try to do a side by side, with one at 1400 and one with 700...
post me a pic of the purple stems! Rockwool can cause stem rot when first put into dwc... 1/3 h202/h2o spray a few times if you see brown on your stem around base.. Did you add hydrogaurd? The 55gal res is a very good idea, I'm definitely going that route. I'll tough this grow out but for next I'll be doing rdwc, it will give me time to research a good diy. I can't believe the prices they want for a complete kit, crazy.
Today i'm in the process of adding 3.5ML of Connoisseur grow a&b with around 2ML of calmag each per liter and I'm close to 3.5 gallons about a quarter inch above the netpot, small amount over until roots get longer then I'll drop water level. 13.2 literally total so I've actually got 6.5ML of cal mag.
Current PPM of 198 PH'd at 5.7. PH fluctuation is fairly fast going up. Every five hours or so I catch it at 6.1 and bring it down about 2 to 3 times a day for 2 days, after that it chills out some. I don't know yet if it's genetics but all girls have purple stems still which is why i'm trying to keep the PH fairly steady below 5.9 so I can get the magnesium up. I imagine the calmag will help as long as PH stays within range of mag.
i hav..these numbers wrk for me.that is hella high! You should try to do a side by side, with one at 1400 and one with 700...
well you are doing right.. its just one of the problems that rdwc deals with.. I moved to bare root cloning so i dont have no median... just 2" foam collar inserts in 2" net pots.. this is a diy dwc cloner i made out of a tote...Girls are napping but I'll grab a few pics. I am a little worried about the rockwool this medium sucks. 3 girls are still in the dome until they wake up for transplant. I've been letting the rockwool dry out. The other three I have transplanted in dwc, the rockwool isn't really drying out. I don't have the top of it covered with clay pellets but I am watering around the sides a couple times a day until the roots come out the bottom. I did purchase some white foam board to cover the pots to keep light out, I've been waiting to add it hoping it dries out more.
lmfao.i feel your pain bro..it does fucking suck!!If any noob out there is reading this post, thinking it's a half decent idea to run 6 5GAL dwc....DO NOT DO IT and go rdwc. Seriously....wtf was i thinking.
they look fine bro.Pics of the purple stems. I noticed the purple the moment they popped from from the rockwool. I can't really tell but it looks like it's getting a little better since calmag was added, I'm keeping eye on it.

I cant much stand seedling stage! Clones can be rooting for 2 weeks, while your finishing and flushing the previous run... I pull plants out the bucket in the morning for harvest and by that evening ive got clones already back in and ready for another flower run.. Ive run 5 runs my first year..Good to hear, that diy cloner is nice man. I would love to take clones but after my grow I'll be moving. Once I get settled somewhere i'll start because raising seedlings strait from beans is so slow it isn't even funny.
much respect for getting off the poison. looks like you have a nice setup, good luck and much respect.. fuck pills.
chris.
@EventHorizan i should of added that my thought behind it is i do multiple dwc totes too(n it is bullshit...lol)mine drink a gal a day np so wen i top off 2 days later i am at 900ppmis that on a .5 or .7 scale?
