& the reason nobody had a true " haze " male all these years except nevil .... ( nevil did not source haze from sam ). again the proof is in the seeds and hybrids made from the haze stock from the 70'-80's onward. some lines won cups, some did not .....

see if you can figure it out .... Sam Skunkman 1985 Sacred Seeds'

reading them old pages. reminds me of reading my step dads old hotrod collection. very cool.

the story on the northwest was cool as i grew up there. i also have a better understanding of nevil too. his bird breeding had to of help early on.
thank you for sharing. i did enjoyed the read.. i did have to use paint and blow it up tho. so, i could read it. however, unlike the other one in hand writing. the text did not go blurry.

Not knocking the ECSD or the OGK.....BUT Rumors spread like wildfire when half truths get reprinted on other websites....shit drives me crazy....and Lineage gets lost and screwed up...so lets rebut the story and give another perspective.... "if you watch CNN and believe everything you see, your in too deep..."....Damian Marley.....

The main problem with "thos kids" story (which has changed 3-4 times already) is they Originaly said the "chem" seeds came from a "couple of pounds" of Chem.....not they were handed seeds by a Co grower...They said a friend in CO Shipped out a bunch of herb and a couple of seeds were found.......

The other problem is not alot of folks have grown or seen the CO Chem compared to the EastcoastChemdawg except for a select few....The two Versions of Chem are TOTALY different.....the version started on the East coast is much closer to bud structure and flavor to the ECSD WHERE the CO Chem is closer to the OG Kush/OG'ers Kush....The SEEDS that they East coast krew claim to have gotten were crossed with something entirely different than what the Orig CO Chem resembled.....yes they smell and taste similar but budstructure and potencey are lackin from the Originals...and all the mold and hermie issues also popped up in the EC chem.....

Some of their story makes sense....but it was after I questioned the Male in the seeds of Co chem (Since CO chem is a FEMALE only strain) they changed their story from "we found" to "we were given seeds"....bunch of BS if you ask me.....

From more reputable sources out in Colorado I heard the CO chem originaly came out of PNW in the mid to late 80's......It was grown in a extremely tight group of growers who lived in the Leadville area...It was even known to be grown outdoors at 9000ft and Finish before the first heavy snow (49-55 days not the 67-72 days of the ECchem)....From what the old timers say it was MOLD PROOF.....which is not the case with EITHER ECchem or the ECsourD cut.....OG is quite the mold resistent strain......apparently the strain became extinct in CO in 98 due to that entire group of growers being busted and moms lost.....and I heard this story from one of my friends Dad who is almost 60 and a much more of a believable source for me....

So what they got was a form of Chem and the ECSD came from their...but to compare it to the Orig CO Chem or to say OG was a hermie from the EC I just cant believe it and I wont let the rumors fly without sayin sumthin.....

A much more likely story is the Orig CO Chem was crossed with a few different males over the years and the ECchem and the OG kush were off shoots of the Orig mom...Either in CO or in the PNW, northern Cali......as their is no way to "backstep" from the ECchem and get OGK....you cant even compare the two.....

all it takes is a lil actual growing of these strains and you can see for yerself the wholes in the story.....

Moonshine

I'm gonna start a thread on how I was the original Breeder of Bubba kush under another name on OG and see how many people fall for it....too many folks believin what they read insted of growin and seein for themselves.....

Well the Current version of the EastCoastChem plus The EastCoast SourDeisel both have Powdery Mildew problems.....Like you said in yer PM..the cuts got weak over the years....hasnt been the same since 95 I believe was your comment......

Ive been saying for a while , for 5 years I spent living in EastHampton I used to see SourDeisel, Headband, Daywrecker and a whole slew of other stuff and it all was MUCH better than todays versions...better flavor better high....glad CD backed up my thinkin on that in that pm......Orig I thought it was cause I was younger and my tolerance level was lower but I honestly believe the stuff was better back in the 93-96 era....

whoever was responsible for keepin them clones all these years did a real bang up job...lol...

Nespecta...you know where to find me....

RUDEBOI~ You & I think alike man...whoops...thar I go 'thinking' again...oh well.
sasmokin.gif

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before (at least not on tha open boards)...but...my entire interest in tha Kushes/ChemDawgs stems from tha fact that I grew this 'cut' that was simply known as Uria from '94-'02...Uria came from Southern Oregon...and...was/is also believed ta be a hybrid of a 'No Name' cut, from Seattle, that my folks grew from '84-'94...tha No Name cut was speculated to be an F1 hybrid of JuicyFruit/Lemon Thai & an Indica/Kush/Ruderalis...

...anywayz, my point is...if you were to cross Suge Nite's Pure Kush with blue dog's Triangle Kush...that is Uria...

Uria had tha stems/structure/look of blue dog's TK but tha leaves of Suge's PK (which are very similar to Bubba Kush leaves from tha looks of it)...and...fer tha better part of ten years Uria was tha best of tha best round here...'til I lost her.
badday.gif

So far...tha closest thing I've grown ta Uria is tha Chemdog & tha SoCal PK...

With that said...how 'bout some o' those "PK" pics I promised...please excuse tha poor quality...as these were taken at a friends place that I caregive for...and...tha 5x8 Scrog doesn't make fer eazy picture takin's.

That Scrog looks FanFukinTastic. KK really knows his stuff and is an excellent breeder/grower. I just don't know if I can believe anybody's story about Chemdog, cuz everybody seems to have gotten those beans!!LOL I have the cut "Dog" tho' that came from KK and its "Cool" Not O.G. Kush by a long shot!! Also claiming that Bubba is a O.G. Kush pheno just doesn't jive to me at all. The growth characteristics of the Real Deal O.G. Kush, not the SFV is like Blue Dog's Triangle Kush and how you could derive a short stout plant like Bubba from a Super stretchy Sativa dom. plant is Unfathomable or beyond my understanding. But that doesn't mean its impossible it just doesn't seem logical to me IME/IMO.
To this...^^^^^...I'd have ta say...ya need ta breed with some IBL Ghani's/Kushes man...you'd be surprized how dominant some of 'em can be in tha F1 sat/indie hybrids.
biggrin.gif

If ya think of it this way...a lot o' these IBL's have node spacing at about 1/2"-1" with zero stretch...now OGK has node spacing of what, say 6",8",12" with an extreme stretch...and...Bubba has about 1"-4" node spacing and a moderate (approx. 50%) stretch...seems feasible ta me.

On a bit of an off topic note...what're yer thoughts on this quote I dug out o' tha archives by good ol' OrgnKid...???

All kinds of people in florida, cali, oregon, illinois ect making F1's crossing indy x sat ...... in the 70's, 80's, 90's.

Pinning down origination, claiming ancestry by looking at a plant, ...... Who's got the original when everyone crossing boel, nevil, sam's, sssc ..... in all different states. And many of these great just tired hype train today as told in p.m.'s and open forums like old family red ..... back in early 2000's ...

I know absolutely nothing about strains offered by breeders. I bought seeds one time in 1988 from The Seed Bank Catalog (2nd page after the order form) - Haze x NL#5

We bought several packs and had them shipped to Mexico and then delivered to 'the OC' because I refused to have anything to do with seeds shipped to the USA from anywhere.

I know a couple of things about smuggling seeds inside of surfboards from the early 1970's before there was a DEA and surfers were considered pretty harmless - Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.

When someone mentions a strain name to me I usually have to send an email to someone to find out what they're talking about. Case in point that I picked-up some medicine from another MMJ grower in Southwest Washington and he said it was 'Cantaloupe'

Is that a good strain and sought after? I have no idea. I think the grower did an outstanding job and we're going to legally exchange cuts - he gets TO and I get 'Cantaloupe' - it's all good.

Just for clarification - the name 'The One' has nothing to do with the quality. It came about at a 'come to Jesus meeting' with this group of associates I wanted out of my life once and for all - familiarity breeds contempt and all.

Nothing to do with the strain at all - an inside joke actually
