Hi IBF, you're welcome bro.

IMO a thing that differs between 5A&5C is that teh C hybrid buds tend to be a bit fluffier in structure while the A hybrid buds are more solid, at least in my experience. This depending on grow methode and room.

The C hybrids i've grown needs lot's of fresh airflow especially the 5C and although the A hybrids also needs a big airflow (big plants), you tend to get the buds of A hybrids more solid. Another difference are the pistils, the C hybrid gives less pistils that are thicker in structure while the A hybrids pistils are abundant and slimmer.
Hope this helps,

Yosemite Sam

Hi,

Imho the closest thing possible to the Haze male A today is the NL5xHzA(f1). I think/hope shanti has her around. It is the nicest, purest and strongest Haze A crossing made. The NL5 was specially selected to use as a mother for nevils hybrids for 2 reasons:

1- it didn't have a strong taste/aroma/smell to let the haze males characteristics in taste/aroma/smell take the upperhand in the hybrids
2- she was a huge yielder.

Imho the skunk/hazeA crosses are inferior to the 5HzA cause the skunk taste/smell/aroma always takes the upperhand in the hybrid. When shanti released his R&R series i was intrigued by the Haze AC Male. So i asked him for the right pedigree and here is what he told me:

As far as i can tell there's no skunk in the male AC. In fact it is a half/brother of the NevHz.

Blue Orca Haze x ( Cuban Black Haze / A5 N.l Haze / Mirakel Thai ) ~ F1's
x

w/ Dr. Xeus ...... bring some nevils haze into the mix
w/Pablos Gold F2's ... bring some skunk into the mix
w/PTK
w/Blue Orca Haze F1's ....

And the post above by Shantibaba confirms Nevil had N.L. #5 / Haze crosses in 1988.Coot has said he received his N.L / Haze F1's in 1988 but i can't find them in seed bank catalog. But with his connections with the boel he also had nigerian, guerrero, mazar ... and d.j. shorts velvet rush from bbq with ed rosenthal and mel frank.

Coot said one of the best performing strains and one worth searching and working was the nl5 haze x velvet rush. He said his buddies ran those in a few locations and the reports back then stellar

And coot did the original velvet rush cross w nl5/ haze in 1991 with a n.l. f1 at the time ..... the velvet rush at that point was F7 ran in cali for generations after bbq ... its a highland blue thai x stretch afghan ( never released by d.j. short was building block in his future lines .. ) finding the proper phenol coot said it was " devastating "

So the n.l. 5 / haze F2's and velvet x nl5 / haze only seeds made by coot in 1991 then around 2009 the n.l. f2's & rush cross restarted. The 1988 n.l. 5 / haze in the blue orca haze is an F2 selection....

velvet rush f7's ( grown by swami ) ( 75-100 days indoor )

oh ya, its like tropic world asia in this spot, if ya look at the pics during the thread a few of them show bugs ...

these things stink a month before flower outdoor so bugs find them. seen some beetle the other day in the fresh growth hit them with neem and he moved ... the only time i worry is near the start as they are small and the bugs hold them back a week or so ... they look bad with holes but are not stressed ...

but we also have little bugs, spiders that hunt those so it even's out. imo. with the neem frequent storms wash most away and i do not visit much.

if it was in my yard and i used neem ect every few days they would look like this ...

BO x NL5

that is a nice male.
chris.

Thanks bro .... !! Its way better having them babied on-site.

@Crop Duster

Those pics in this thread these are seeing full on bug assault, winds, rain, heat, animals all totally out of my control. on average neem spray every ten days or so. because if we get a bit of rain im not visiting them ....

I lost about 30% of everything from the start. They are 1 inch or so when they go out ....

Hi All

just to clear the air from confusion and before you all go making a legend from myth here is how it was done and is done still....

Nh is made from Haze C male which is made by two pure haze parents from 1969....then the female side of NH is made from Haze A combined to NL5 or NL5Haze A where Haze A was also made by two pure Haze parents also from 1969
Haze A is no longer alive only Haze C male is along with several other different sativa lines.

but plants with the lineage of Haze A are still alive and carrying the genes within.

SSH is made up of Haze C combined to Skunk 1 or Skunk HzC which is the male side, the female side is Haze C combined to NL5 or NL5HzC

the Mango comes from a parallel cross same as SSH but with one difference

Haze A male combined to Sk 1 or Sk HzA being the male plant, the female is NL5HzC....that is the breeding of those three plants. considering the Haze A is no longer a male alive, it still is alive in the ancestry of some of the plants used in all these breeds. I do not have secrets about breeding but given the same seed batches we could all still create something different...it boils down to selection.

La Nina is the widow father breed to a pure Haze female...neither A or C by the way so I hope that clears up all your doubts once and for all.

There is no one other than Simon at serious seeds who follows breeding plants like we do.Most Dutch seed companies use females plants obtained from seed batches that were passed on to them or sent to them, making their origins a little doubtful at certain stages. The whole seed industry based alot of things on Neville's origins in fact , but none except Sensi Seed had the parent plants to replicate things time and time again. Whether plants dies or were lost to disease over the years...well most companies would probably not tell anyone, but think about it.How many back ups of parent plants would you need in how many countries to be sure never to loose an important line? As enforcement on growers gets more and more restricting rooms get found etc....and the law of averages catches up on you. My last problem with the Swiss authorities I lost all plants in my library...some 42 mum's and dad's...luckily we keep backup of all the most important plants in 5 different countries and have done for years...if we had not had done this then we too would have lost alot of heirlooms. I do keep original batches of seed from years ago also in several places just in case I have to go all the way back to the drawing board to do selection again...but that is as bad as it gets for us.

As you can see it is alot of work in alot of places to just keep things alive...not to mention the expenses and time factor involved.

All the best now off to Bologna for a 3 day fair....take care

If the original cup winner was NL5xhazeC/skunkxhazeC and MNS sells NL5xhazeC/skunkxhazeC seeds then who is selling the real deal?

The area for improvement was not the NL5xHz mother, SB already has cuttings of the best ever produced. The improvement would be in the SKxHz father. Later Skunk versions that were crossed with the Haze were far superior to the Skunk Hazes of the '80s.

As I have said before, inbreeding Haze especially to the same Haze ancestor leads to a greater incidence of the cat piss pheno. The Diesel or fuel like smells are an intermediate stage. NH also has more fuel type offspring than the 5Hz, but not as many as a plant inbred to HzC. NL5HzA had darker flavours than NL5HzC, but I wouldn't call it diesel.

The Black Haze is more of "Piff" meaning it's a Haze with mixed flavors

jj-NYC

There are many different versions of the NYC Haze, ranging from floral Thai to cat piss and everything in between. I know the cat piss pheno. The black Haze is not this pheno but it has hints of cat piss and Thai and could pass as a NYC Haze if it's not already. It smokes very strong and fills up the room with that classic haze smell and can hang with any NYC Haze

hey manic, lovely to see people working with the black..ive been smoking the black since i was a teenager. when done right and taken 90-100 its hands down the most fire herb ive smoked..i was able get a cut years back, and i used cs to reverse it and i made the black s1's along with other crossed ...the black X nycd x casey jones, the black X C99..youll be happy to hear the black dominates everything its crossed with, especially in smell and taste, i grew out 75 of the black X nycd x cj and not 1 tasted like the mom it was all THE BLACK...it is also one of the most stable strain ive grown wont nanner for anything..if anyone is thinking about getting anything with the black in it DO IT...this herb is other worldy, it taste better than any elite ive ever tried.. i think it might be an extreme haze dom pheno of an old NL x Haze cross..anyway here are some pics of the black s1's outdoors

donjuan is a fkn thief. karma's a bitch and will catch up to him in the end...

So once again N.L. #5 / Haze pop's up ......... and look at duan juan's pic cuban black haze matches swami's n.l.#5 / haze F2 pic just above it .... just as don juan speculated.

& that Blue Orca Haze poly just chalk full of n.l. hazezzzzzzzz; .... so as these get breed for my location outdoor 42º might finally find that old school N.L. taste and high .... understanding lots of F2's need searching ...

I'll get you some. After I make some seeds I will not see them until next season so seeing a few indoor would be cool.

But I'm not doing anything with the gift packs from swami ( A5 poly just 4 me ) on the one off lines. Many guys do this and its not good and would harm the garden karma'. or if its a poly cross after next season maybe i could pass those ....

Ill have some good stuff'

Where does it come from and what are the genetics?

MK Ultra is a cross between G-13, the famous American government wee, and the infamous LA plant, the OG’er Kush.
