Just a good 4 foot setup. For a small grow maybe 4x4 or 4x8

I only have about 2ft of width in this cabinet, but I plan on getting a 4ft. for my other larger cabinet currently under construction. So maybe a 2ft 4 bulb t5?

Thanks for the reply!
How did you stunt them? And what type of led do you have/how do you like it?

I've since backed off the lights to try to get the last bit of stretch out of flower. They seem to like it so far!

Thanks for the reply!
Do your cotyledons yellow and die off before you start feeding? It seems like that happens, and then the first set of true leaves start to yellow. So I've been giving them a weak 1/2 strength dose. But maybe that yellowing is just from my overwatering issues.

None taken! lol. I'm going to redo the wiring all neat and secure.
So far, only cfls on these. They'll go into a tent with my 300w galaxyhydro led in a month. They have developed a fair amount of stretch since my last reply :). Haven't had the led long enough to speak about successful results but I'll let you know.

Simplify everything.. plain base nutes. Flush the soil first though. Plain water for a few days then introduce nutes gradually. Lights on 18/6 and don't mess with them for a week or so. Let them recover.

Thanks for the reply James!
I did just that, and they have been thanking me for it!

The bottom set of true leaves are beginning to yellow on some of the younger ones, so I think it's time they got a weak dose of nutes?

The lights are on 24/0 right now, would it be advisable to change it to 18/6?

It's not THAT bad haha but I am working on fixing the lighting situation very soon. The cords go out of the cabinet and into a surge protector. About to order a vipar or marshydro LED and maybe another red bloom light. And a bigger better light for the larger tent they is under construction. Thinking a 600w equivalent led with 5w bulbs. And get a t5 for veg!

Your plants look great! My lone flowering plant almost skipped the stretch phase. They only grew like an extra 50% he original height! Didn't even near double the height and I'm on day 25 or so.
Please do let me know! I plan on ordering a LED light or two real soon.

Update - 2 things

Friggin bugs!! I found a couple small, fast crawling, jumping, white worm looking bugs. Got out my book, and they are thrips! Gave them a nice spray with some Spinosad a couple days ago, and will do another application tonight. Haven't seen a single one since the first spray.

The plants have peeked up a lot too since the Spinosad spray! Here are some pics of the affected areas. You can see the little white squiggly lines on some leaves. There were just a handful of leaves with visible damage to them. And I probably saw a total of 10-15 bugs on the leaves over a 3 day period before I could go buy the Spinosad.

I am also building another much larger cabinet. It is 3ft x 2 ft x 5 ft. Any suggestions for LED lights? Thinking a 300w with supplemental lighting. Or a 400-450 LED alone. Will get a 4in or 6in exhaust. Just has a coat of primer so far!

I have my regrets about owning the 300w gh led we were talking about. The reason I got it was because every review out of 7000 about this light is good! Lol. But YES, there is a highly recommended light. This is even more recomended than hps bulbs! And that is the COB LED. They're supremely cheap and you get more wattage usage and efficiency. As I understand it, cobs are basically several leds compacted into singular, individual cells. I REALLY wish I would have ordered a -COB LED grow light- instead of the galaxyhydro. So, there you go :).

This is the 300w galaxyhydro in action with pure ffof soil :( Not to pleased but, of course, the light is not to blame here lol

Order just one or even a few of those. Perfect for your cabinet! And they run very cool.

Hey all! So I need some help figuring out where I went wrong and how to correct it and avoid the same problem in thI e future. The biggest and busiest is the OG Kush. The second largest, and most yellowed is the older King's Kush. And the second King's Kush is in the big 2 gal. The last one seems to have taken off since I transplanted it and the roots had time to reach down into the SuperSoil on the bottom half of the pot.

I seem to get them going good for a little while, then some deficiency or something pops up. They are super compact and bushy though- that was what I was going for with my limited space.

The bigger 2 plants are still in roots organic soil. They are about 35 days old. They saw lots of topping/FIM'ing and LST. The bigger (white) pot with the smallest plant is half roots organic soil half SuperSoil.

I wasn't feeding any Cal/Mag and was using distilled water. Now I'm using tap water and a little cal/mag sometimes, always pH'd between 6 and 7. That definitely had them showing some deficiencies before. They've been fed a combination of AACT's and Botanicaire nutrients. The plan is to transplant into 2-3 gal pots with 50% supersoil for the final transplant.

I'll attach a journal of all that they've been fed. I think I did too much. The second round of seedlings is doing much better than the first round already.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice!!
I can help you..
Move the light upppppppppppppppppppppp

Bam!! I had to super crop the tallest ones in the very back and I limited the lighting to one 4-bulb fixture(154 watts total). The cfls are and always have been less than 1 foot away. Lol sorry @EventHorizan. But I'm glad you encouraged me to go even that distance! :) this pic was taken shortly after bending. The trunks remain about 2"- 3 " tall while the stems grow to be 3 to 4 times that length!

Gooof info! You think one of those COB lights posted one post after yours below would be a good option?

What size pots are you using? And what type/size CFL's are you supplementing with?

Pepe these @closetgrow69

Awesome! I had seen those on amazon but hadn't seen many people using them. You think the extra hundred or two $$ would be worth it? Probably so, especially after SnakeSkin's post above. Only one way to find out I guess!

Even with the little 16.5w bulbs? I can move the lights further away for a few days and see how she responds. I was kind of treating these like CFL's but slightly further away. Should all LED's be backed way further off? I would definitely think so for more powerful ones.

Yes but the cobs right? Lol

I wonder how far away these screw in LED's should be. Don't see many people use them so I gave them a shot. Yeah definitely for COB's lol

That room is boomin'! So you supercrop and basically mainline/lst the main trunk? Got that room filled up nice!

Here's mine day 26 since 12:12. Lots of yellowing on the lower leaves

ya im not near enough energy to explain everything, but they put out a lot of heat just inches from the bulb... it changes so much but cfl is what you choose and those are the negatives... keep pushing forward!

Damn nice. The pic I showed you was taken on the 45th day of flowering that female! Must be slow to flower or it's simply do to the shit storm of problems she's been suffering lol. Id be leaning towards the cheaper range of cob leds with numerous, good reviews. You can get a 1000-1200 watt panel for just over $100. The few cfls in my tent are in the 20-23 watt range and the pot is 1.75 gal.

Please do explain if you have the time/energy to type it out. I love learning!

I'm currently using 16.5w, 1650 lumens, 2700k LED's. They're cooler than the CFL's but still do definitely put off a good amount of heat. Will be upgrading soon!

Maybe just a slow flowering strain! It'll make it eventually! Lol. I think I'm leaning towards one of those ~$100 1000w panels you suggested.

Same pot size here! In bought a 2 gal square pot and cut off the top couple inches to make them shorter and not as wide. And I tried adding in some 23w CFL's but they made the room too hot.

Got a second coat of primer, and then 2 coats of paint on the cabinet. She's ready for ventilation! Going to look at 6in. inline fans at the hydro store today. I know it would be overkill in a 25 sq. Ft. cabinet, but going to buy a fan controller and build an air silencer for it. And attach a carbon filter.

Weatherstripping around doors and heavy duty magnets to hold the doors shut.. Check! I'm happy with how this cabinet looks so far!!

Ventilation next and then lighting. Please lme know if you have any specific recommendations for brands of lighting and such!

look i dont want to hurt anybodies feelings....
So instead of saying why cheap cobs are a bad decision,
let me just offer a decent solution..
A premade light for that cabinet would be spectrum king.
(Mothers little helper. )
An even better solution would be a prefab kit with 4 - 50 watt cree cobs ...
