I think whatever you can fit comfortably. All depends on your tent.
You see how my set up is I can't max out completely cuz I have to get to the outlets and what not. But this time I'll be coming close. Lol. I may have to take out the 2 shelves and gain an extra 2.5' of floor space so I can still walk in there

Yea those plants look like they are going to get huge, their growth looks so nice and fresh..

Whats this for?

Haha your gunna kill me but I'm already thinking about getting out of DWC.. Flood and drain just seems soo easy with people having exceptional results.. The setup cost for coco flood & drain for my tent would only be like 400$ out the door.. (maybe a tiny bit more if i go w/ canna)
Honestly the thing about DWC that kills me is all of the heat/electrical cost to run the equipment.. I feel like the flood and drain setup would almost pay for itself in the first or second round just in electrical cost savings..

I would shoot for 2 3x3's giving yourself space in the tent
are you gonna be running Drip to waste or Flood n Drain?

kew thanks, Im thinking i want to try and replicate Vader's setup w/ canna nutes (flood & drain).. Do you think that is a bad idea? It seems pretty damn simple..

I dont blame you!...
It is prob best. You can use 1/2 gal pots
In the flood table and kill it..

Well maybe i can help you a lil.
What size are your uc buckets?
And did you drill in them any or are they still exactly stock?

I think that would be a great idea!
Flood and drain with coco 5x a day for 3 mins in 1/2 gal pots. You could even add in a lil hydroton to make it more adherant to multiple feedings.

8gal buckets, only drilled the 7th bucket (epicenter) to put a float valve into it. other than that everything is all stock.. Of course all the bulkheads (12x) are glued but you can use PVC couplings if you don't like the spacing.. i have 2x additional bulkheads but the pvc is cut flush on them..

pretty much all you would need is the air pump, 1x bulk head, water pump, & the epicenter
The thing that would kill us is the shipping...

Thats pretty much what i was thinking..
Was going to do solo cups for young veg/clone, maybe 1 gal pots for flower.. Vader uses 3gal pots (Flower) and feeds 2-3x times a day @ 15mins (from what i got from his videos..)

Ya shipping would be pretty brutal.
Yep all i wanted was the buckets, lids and 8" net pots. And the bulkeads.

Thats what i did for timer to 3x 15 min..
But hydroton puppy chow mix with coco would allow for more feedings which gives you more chances to supply o2 to the root zone...

I actually really like fresh frozen. My favorite so far though is like freshly dried material, not wet but not cured fully... I love extracts :speechless:
I think F&D Vader style is a great idea
and as what event said
the more perlite or hydroton you have
the more feedings you can run
but with pure coco
in 1gal
probably 10min 3x a day
he runs his for 15 because of the size pot he has
you also might need to up the feeds per day because 1 gal is smaller so it will dry quicker

but I think you will have excellent results
and yeah I would just copy his recipe to a T

I think its a awesome idea too!
Nothing wrong with emulating Vader!

Hell ya bro @Toph420 thats a great idea. Why not? I think when I have my room all dialed in dry walled and mini split installed I wasn't to run a 5x8 F&D under the 2 gavitas.
But for now I love my set up.
I'm looking forward to trying these gavitas but even if they are too hot I'll he happy running the 2 1k hoods.

Hell I may even run 1 gavita and 1 air cooled 1 k. Lol

Only reason I wanted to do 15 min cycles is cause that’s what all my timers are made for haha.. I don’t want to have to go buy another timer.. if that requires me stepping it up to 3gal pots I’m not opposed..?

Prolly keep it the same as Vader with pure coco..

Lil update on the girls getting the fan leaf treatment. They're looking good.
I love the canopy control by just clipping certain leaves. And we always have super cropping when it comes down to it.

So would u rather have a 270 watt kind k3 l450 led or the 440 California light works?
@Wisher619 which one would you choose?
And are they worth a 1.00 a watt?
I know how you feel about cobs and such but we talking on the level of cost per watt of light?
Another words for all the bs hype about kind, which i hear is mainly just there price, its prob is a good deal at a $1 a watt? Would you agree?
Plus would you agree that kind is prob a better light than California light works?
I also think the kind has a little more functionality to it.

2 weeks and your gonna have to flip them and you are gonna learn super cropping!!! I promise you that! They are gonna blow up on you!

I plan on super cropping. I actually want to this time and practice. Also 2 weeks is max. Flip coming soon

What do you guys think of this (IF I can't cool 2 gavitas yet before I get the mini split)...
What if I ran 1 gavita over a 4x4 with a scrog net on it (to assure a certain height) and 1 1k air cooled intake and exhaust straight thru from outside to outside. I know I can cool 1 gavita with the other hood air cooled but don't know if any ill affects being side by side

Just wondering why your so opposed to cobs/chilled boards? They are practically the same price when it comes down to it..

Those timber cobs are dope..

Could get a few of these kits... (pretty much top of the line..)

Here is all the horticulture stuff

It’s diy but it comes with everything and looks super simple to hook up..

Edit: I guess these lights/kits are more along the lines of 2$ per watt.. hmm

Edit2: wait that kind k3 l450 is more than 2$ Per watt!!
