I hear ya. This particular outdoor is just for fun and she was the mother of the bulk of my indoor grow. I moved the outdoor over to another thread in outdoor, greenhouse forum. I'm kinda just throwing a few things at it to see where it goes. This thread will continue on the indoor grow and I will definitely try to keep things a little more controlled and experimental. Don't lose faith Dunge. I really liked that comprehensive thread on soils. Stick around man. I'm about to have ten girls in flower to play with. I want everybody's input to help with them. I'll recap the baseline info once they're transplanted. And lights flipped. Next few days. As always, appreciate the help from the community and look forward to continued friendly farming.

Productive day. Silencer box built for exhaust fan. Time to proceed with tent assembly. Next post and pics will have the indoor completely set up. Girls ready for transplant. Anybody still following along, let's hear some opinions on root bound plants. These girls are well developed and overdue. I plan to use a super soil mix geared toward flowering with heavy P and moderate K. Any tips or tricks? Spray with root hormone? Rough up the exterior of the root ball? Cutting ends of roots? I hope to have them adjusted within a week to flip the switch.

Late night. Tent exhaust is functioning and super quiet. Tonight, transplanted all the purple wreck girls except one. Have to get another container. I put the Deathstar in there too. I have a small group of clones in the dome now. These PW aware a little stressed. Leaves are one and three leaflets. Gonna let it ride for now. Let them roots stretch into some fresh super soil.

A little concerned about what's gonna happen next. All of the plants I bent, twisted and trained have gotten stressed out over the last couple weeks. Single and three fingered leaflets developed. Will they bounce back? Aside from the abusive training, they've been on 24/0 light since potted. Would that cause the odd growth? Any nute deficiency cause the odd growth? Any which way, I'm gonna cut the light to a 18/6 schedule and allow them to rest up for about a week before I flip to 12/12. Any suggestions out there? I think I may set up a screen to help with the canopy.

Other than the 1&3 leaflet issue, they're doing ok. A little stretched and root bound from being so cramped previously but I'm just rolling with it. Still trying to pinpoint leaflet issue. Two of them were placed directly into the two gal very early and majority stayed in the 4". All plants still developed the same. All plants received mykocorra..... (Whatever. Autocorrect didn't know what I was trying to spell and I'm too lazy to look it up. Lol.) The myko is the difference between the Purple Wreck and the Deathstar. Can mykos cause leaflet deformation? P.W. clones were taken from outdoor mother which is doing great. Just gonna let em ride and get comfy in the new soil. A little more training and some light trimming before 12/12.

Super Cropped the Deathstar. Looking good. The army of Purple Wreck is starting to show signs of 5 finger growth. *Sigh of relief....
Now I just have to figure out how to set up for the switch. I don't want to veg any more to stay within my light footprint with all these girls. I'm thinking I'll need to thin a few of these bushes before I set up a screen. Questions. Take lower growth now in a sort of lollipop manner? Reach in and eliminate a few of the vertical stems to allow air/light? Trim out some of the spindly stretched tops?

Well, it's been a few weeks and think they have made a full recovery. No more single and triple leaflets. Fully developing leaves and starting the stretch in second week of flowering. This canopy is extremely dense. Been randomly pulling plants out and trimming the bottom third of foliage and trimming out a few scraggly stems below the upper canopy. A mini lollipop technique I guess. I'll pull a few cuttings for clones. Once all the plants have been trimmed out I'm hoping the air circulation and steady 50%rh will let these plants breath. I'm kinda bummed I'm only able to run under these LED. No clue how good they are and uncertain of wattage. Pretty sure total of 900 Watts. (300&600) We'll just see what happens.

Hey, PS. The photo has a water mark on it from a grow journal app I started using. I assure you, this is my grow. Lol.

So we're somewhere mid week 3 of flower. The Sea of purple wreck and the lone deathstar in the center. All seems healthy. I'm not sure how to judge the development because this is first quality grow of this size. Looks good to me. I'm looking forward to the next couple weeks to see how they start to bulk up. I've read weeks 4-6 are the plumping stage. QUESTIONS, I'm growing in a "super soil" mix with all the basic goodies. Up until now I've dosed them once a week with a half strength 9-1-2 veg combo to assist the stretch. Now in flower, got rid of the 8-0-0 and added NFTG megamorpheus 0-2-0 in addition to a 1-1-2 Nutri+ Thrive. Should I increase the feeding frequency? Currently water about every other day as long as surface of soil is nice and dry. Again only have fed once a week. Maybe feed twice a week now?
Temps are considerably cool. Basement is a consistent 65°f. Tent stays around 68° with about 45 rh. Is this a little cool, and the effect it will have on flowering? Oh and any opinions on the density of canopy. Suffocating and stunting yield. I can thin it a little without crying. Or, lush and beautiful, let it ride and take all the possible bud sites I can. In the next week or so I may have access to 1000w hps to finish with. That should help a little.

Post up some new pics in few days. My concerns right now are of cold temps, lack of light in this space and still wondering if I should thin it the canopy more. Any fellow growers have some input? Or am I just overthinking this and it all is going well?

Currently: 11 Purple Wreck, 1 Deathstar 2gal super soil mix, beginning week 4 of flower. 900w total generic LED. Temps are around 68°f with lights on. Ph approx 6.2 Humidity been around 45%. Lights off, I haven't looked. So I guess things are ok? Any tips and tricks at this point are invited. Like my previous post suggests, I may be switching over to 1000w hps for the finish, but I am pondering letting this continue under LED for the experience.

Missed watering for two days last week. Got a bit droopy and wilted. Deathstar effected the most. A good soak of fresh water and a feeding a couple days later and things seem stable. Still cool and not developing as I'd like. Gonna post some pics tonight.

Most current pics. Somewhere in week 5, I think. Deathstar showing some deficiency. Haven't looked into it yet. Calcium, nitrogen, ???. About set up 1000w HPS for them and start supplementing with NFTG line. This soil mix is solid, but they will need a little boost while sun bathing. Some tent maintenance and light set up and I'll get some new pics up.

Oh yeah, what's anybody thoughts on defoliation at this point? Lower dense area of plants aren't gonna produce much and consume nutrients and energy, or should I leave it be and let the HPS penetrate to the finish.

HPS set up and blazing. Such a nicer light to work with. I'm not gonna knock the benefits of LED. There are plenty of them, but this light feels so much more like natural light. I'll veg under florescent and LED and flower under 1000w of HPS.

With the light set up I am experiencing warmer temperatures pushing the upper 80's in the headspace but staying in the mid 70's at canopy level. During some watering and tent maintenance the temp probe fell to the floor of the tent. The root zone area of the tent is a cool 65°f. I'm liking these numbers and they seem consistent. Humidity is sitting around the mid 20's. Seems a bit low. Yes/no? Any good tips on humidity control?

For the extent of the flower cycle so far they've only received LED rays and half strength 1-3-2 nutrients in addition to the "super soil" mix. With approximately 3 weeks to go they're only showing a little deficiency. I'm gonna look into that next. Another week of feeding then flush last two.

The canopy has grown together creating a natural screen holding everything up. These girls are getting a little top heavy. These plants aren't big by any means, but to scale these thin framed beauties are filling out. Gonna be a tedious trim party. Lots of flarf from lower canopy. Looks like somebody gonna learn how to make some edibles. Many tops though gonna produce bunch of solid gram nuggets. So anybody have suggestions on the finish. Last week of feed. Weeks of flush. Tips? Advice?

Enough rambling. Pics. (Yes, better pics with lights off. I'll add a few when it's "sundown".) First pic is actually the Death Star I took clones from. That's my next diary...

I wouldn't even sweat a 3 week deficiency, I have a few plants like yours that do the same thing in week 6, but by then I'm not gonna bother giving it N, Mag or Calcium cuz it doesn't really need it, plus the flush comes soon, so your leaves are gonna turn yellow anyways, if anything and you're worried delay your flush a few days to a week and you should be fine. I personally like to see discoloration right at week 6 and so on so them fall colors/fade starts

Gonna open the floor with some questions. I will ultimately go seek out the answers, but I'm just gonna ask for additional feedback from fellow growers.

Temps are mid to upper 80's f. This seems warm for flowering. Ideally, I've read in the past, low 70's during flowering are beneficial to flowering. Even lower temps will help bring out richer natural genetic colors. Should I worry about getting temps lower to finish last 3 weeks? Currently just allowing HPS heat to flood the tent and get exhausted thru filter and fan it the window. Hood is enclosed and able to be vented. Cooler temperatures that important?

That's it for now... I'm sure I'll think of something else soon. Thanks for the assistance.

You reported large temperature stratification a few days ago.
If you had enough fans, I think it would even out, and be better overall.

Another question I'm sure every grower has had at one point or another. How can I get these buds to fill in and swell more? With a week+ to feed these girls any methods or nutrients that may fatten em up?

And for the finish. Plain water for the last two weeks. Any additives for flushing?

I only have one 16" oscillating fan just above the canopy pushing air across the colas. I suppose I could turn it up to medium to help. I'm gonna let it ride for the finish. I'm wondering how temps affect bud production and if trying to cool the tent 15-20° is worth the efforts.
