Just a friendly reminder

this for UC/DWC/F&D and anyone checking runoff of DTW

this is the Formula

PH up/ec down = plants hungry
PH down/ec up = plants not eating

for those who run large scale operations with a doser control
high end facilities will have a monitor of runoff constantly
the runoff will tell the computer to raise or lower dose limits due to runoff and plant eating habbits
PH is only a factor of what the ec is doing
that goes for all media type from Coco to H2O
this information is very crucial in something like say aquaponics when monitoring Nitrate/Nitrite levels and the rise and fall of ph as the plants eat

the trick is to get the plant stable in its eating habbits and adjust so the ppms and ph remain stable

which can mean raising or lowering the ppm of the feed solution

Ok what about when the PH is going down & the EC is going down?
Every time i drained/refilled my UC system on my last round that would happen for the first 4 days or so until the PH stabilized..

The only thing i can think is that the plants were not eating but they still drank a bit and then the RO would top off the system and lower the EC..? (RO was hooked up to a float valve for top off)

coco has a tendency to raise ph as it has a good buffering capacity and a natural ph of around 6.5

dont read tunoff ph only runoff ppm

that will tell you to lower or raise the pom

if the ppms in runoff is higher then lower going in if lower than raise going in until even

ive had it before too. Usually right after tea to plants that have sick pythium root systems.. It looks like a thin film on top. Scary at first.. Just keep pushing forward with proper feed and tea..

They prob reread it 5 times..
I used copy and paste things you said into a file on the desktop called Wishers world..
I erased it a few months ago as i have all the info in my head now...

Oh ya...
46 years old baby.....
19.5 miles in 60 mins..
With the extra 5 mins cool down i made it 20 miles in 65 mins and burnt 400 colories..
I didnt even eat 400 colories today...

This guy is getting ready to set up an automated system.. @Meakanu
Wondered if you guys got the perfect timer for him?
I use my c02 timer on my environmental controller these days.
@Wisher619 @Thejoeybrown
get him good timer that has 1 to 60 sec timer, with 24 hr programming..
What is it again you both use?

Actually your ph should have been rising if your ec was dropping but the water was being topped because the ph of water is much higher like 6.5-7

so I dont know

Joey uses a titan controler I believe

I use your standard 1min timer super simple Harbor Freight digital
it was like $10.00

is there anything I can do to try and help struggling seeds? This has happened to me a few times now where the tail pops out like 1/16 of an inch but then growth stops.. pretty bummed as all 3 of my afgoo seeds did this, might email the company see if I can get some replacements :( ...(popped about 20 seeds and this happened to 5 of them)

They are sitting in ziplock baggies inside a paper towel soaked in RO.. sitting on top of my comcast box for warmth..

Could be old stock or poorly stored stock. I had some issues like that when i started out. Looking back i still dont do anything different and i get damn near 100%

seed is prob a dud.

That’s sorta what I was thinking, maybe I’ll email the company see if I can get some replacements..

I put all seeds in the fridge for 24 hours
tgen soak in water in the dark in at least 70f
in 12-24 hours the tail pops I will put directly in coco
if not
I will put in a cotton ball soaked in water into a small hot sauce container ....type you get at the mexiraunt
and pop the lid on and put on top of my T-5
in a day they isually open all the way then into the coco
