These plants are 5weeks old 4 days ago I switched the lighting from 18-6 to 12-12. They have been exposed to 8400 lumens. I've heard that male preflowers begin to show 4 to 5 weeks however. These plants are going on 6 weeks. I can spot out the pistils and growth tips coming from nodes. But I personally can't tell the sex yet. Any thoughts on this people?

Think you have a dud, six weeks and not a pistol or a nut?

If I had to guess that's most likely a male but can't say for positive

Keep us posted. Curious to see what sex it turns out to be.

Cannabis plant takes 4-8 weeks to turn sexually mature, some strains that are heavy sativa leaners even longer.

In the last pic it looks like it could go either way, looks like it has balls and possible flowers, but if it was female, you would have good sized flowers by now at week 6, and with only a few weeks left until finish, I'd put my money on a male.
See I was thinking the same thing. Until I speculated and spotted what appears to be "balls" however they were ruled out as growth tips. Males usually show sex earlier. I'll keep everyone posted with new pictures in due time. Thanks

I've never had a female go more than two weeks in 12/12 before it's in flower, most put out white hairs in the first week, at week six your flowering plants should look like white bristled bottle brushes, yours don't, also your branches don't look female, so I'm sticking with a male.

6 weeks old not flowering. Day 4 of flower. Reread the post, simple mistake.

Even if it is a male I'll be there for the lil guy. Sounds like a episode of maurry " in the case of 6 week old indica" YOU ARE THE FATHER :D still no seed pods yet tho people. So no need to jump ship just yet.

If its a male, collect some pollen and produce your own seeds, you only have to do a couple of flowers, that way you can capitalise on your loss if it's a male, might well turn into a female, some strains are slow to show, but it looks like a male, you'll find out this week maybe, it's your second week in flower, so some thing should show this week, good luck for a babe, but it's not a total loss if it's a dude.

Have a good look round your plant in it's growing tips and look for white hairs, should be a couple pushing through by now,
