For sure. It of course depends on your goal for the grow. If you’re trying to turn a profit and can’t afford to lose then obviously seeds aren’t a viable option.

If you are a medical user and have ailments that need certain strains or characteristics and you need regular medicine then seeds aren’t an ideal solution either.

If you are a casual smoker who likes to blow the tits off friends and have bragging rights and be known as a grow god then seeds can do a lot to help you accomplish that.

The general public knows little about this stuff. They don’t know the intricacies of genetics and growing. They just know this stuff tastes like blueberries. This shit is sticky. This one makes me sleepy or this one makes me happy. So it’s not hard to come off as an authority figure to most of the population. But if you give them something they’ve never had before it elevates you to god like status in their minds and they’ll take your word as gospel.

So it just depends on goals and your end game and what motivates you to grow.

I personally like giving away a large portion of my grows just to see people happy and enjoy themselves. For Christmas this year I handed out 1/4 oz jars of fresh AK47 and each person who got one seemed to love it. None of them had it before and they really appreciated the gesture. I didn’t ask for anything in return but their honest opinion and for me that’s good enough.

As other strains matured and became available I handed out samples of them to see how they liked it. So far so good. I just like to see them light up when you hand them something they’ve never experienced before. To me that’s payment enough and makes me feel good about my minor role on the planet.

Damn I just realized I’ve been rambling for damn near 20 minutes typing this shit out. My apologies to those who brave the task of reading my dribble. Haha.

Yeh so true . I ran with skittelz is cos I had cash flow problems and my grow buddy had the beans but was taking a break from growing. I remember a few lads going crazy a while back about some ‘next level’ weed called skittelz Andy were paying £20 a gram for it. I also love smoking strains that are ‘a bit didferent’ And full of flavour so it was a no brainier .

My good friends will be getting a selection box with some colourful dark devil , the fruity skittelz and whatever the auto thunderfuck ends up like
.

The beauty of this wonderful plant is that it is so diverse from one seed/pheno to another . So many effects, flavours , looks and uses

That sucks. Hopefully its the only one. I found a hermie in a strain thats very stable and not known for it (multiple cannabis cup winner). So it happens to the best of us.

I've also found them late in flowering. Usually when that happens they are sterile and don't create any seeds. Just pop off the sacs and keep chugging along.

This one was early enough that it's a good thing you caught it and chopped it down. It won't be good for anything but compost material.

I wonder what @thunderfudge has to say about it. Hopefully it's just a fluke.
Out of the 40+ I ran i had 1.5 herms, which i stated.out of the 3 packs my buddy in Florida ran,he had none.with your pack that puts me at 2.5 herms in over 80 seeds, which is acceptable in my eyes.thats still well below 10%,which is still very good for a cookie cross.look at what some others are dealing with with other gear and 2.5 on 88 isnt bad at all.
Putting a bomb in someone's garden is the last thing I would ever want, and if that herm % ever goes above 10 that's reason enough to bin it and not deal with the potential problems.
I have talked to many people that believe even 20% is acceptable, which I could never handle worrying about 2 herms in every 10 seeds.1 in every 2-3 packs is tough enough
I'm glad you snagged it up SoLo,good eyes.that is a true herm, non stress related

Yeah, it happens bro. And it doesn't even bother me losing that plant. I got my hands full right now and it probably actually helped me out a little :D I'm running low on space!

Just glad it was probably the worst looking plant of them all and not one of my beauties!

Lol.good deal.Believe me when I'm say....I would never want any of you to deal with a herm room.If you look at what I've put out these last few years,I purposely stay away from the hermie prone cuts for this reason.
This was the exception due to all the other components being so solid, but you see that's a hard trait to rid 100%

Check it how much bigger plants 5 and 6 are than the others. Notice the tops of the other plants in the foreground of the picture. 5 and 6 tower over the rest. 6 also has the biggest and frostiest buds.

Thanks a lot! You know how hard it is to see these every day when I have no weed to smoke!?:D It's difficult to say the least...

I haven't experienced that yet. My wife still allows for my concentrates but once first harvest cures and drys that's it. No more dispensary weed for me. Lol

Clones are nice but they’ve been done before. Meaning there’s little mystery to them unless you have a shady source and then that’s a whole nother set of problems, lol.

But seeds can give you something special you never realized you wanted.

Sure you can get frustrated by seeds more so than with a clone but you also have the possibility of winning the lottery and finding something truly remarkable.

With clones you’ll never have anything better than the mom it came from. With seeds you always have a chance of something exponentially better than its parents.

Of course the risk for getting something equally shitty is always there but you can’t win unless you risk losing.

But we all have different goals with our journey and it’s not for everyone. But for me the thrill of the mystery is what keeps me going and hunting.
Hell ya bubba I agree gonna pop some Giesel Cookies next week :)

Haha once upon a time when I gave out samples it was a term I called “opening doors” or some others may call it baiting the hook. Or what’s it called something like that. Gotta reel ppl somehow :)
