Image result for topping cannabis plant

Just something that helped me on my first grow!
Yeah I topped 3 of the five plants the other 2 not topped are starting to get big I may top them soon.

About 37 seconds in, that spot you show,as far as my beginner knowledge (wait for more experience) I only top the actual top of the plant, those are side branches, you have the right idea, but the top of the plant.

i think the side branches are toppable too, but im not sure.
Thug life bro gonna top ones closer to the top se what happens.

Obviously strain dependent. Every plant will be different, but whats your estimated average guess of how much they stretch going into flower? Example, my blue cheese says it should be about 5 foot? i believe? so what, veg it till about 2 feet? 3 feet? to end up at about 5?

I figure double stretch even triple the size by peak flower for hybrids. Too many variables to know more.

Let me know results! interested in seeing how side branches turn out topped. i may have to do so myself if it works out.

Best fastest clones are the low side branches.

Tops have to change hormones more before rooting.

And topping may or may not stop the doubling in stretch. But stretch is yield. Little plants yield well, little.

I wouldn't top within a week of being ready to flip. You can top any branches as long as you have node(s) below on that branch. I top once then scrog but if you don't want to scrog topping will give similar resluts. Depending how well the plant takes it you may or may not see some stunting. I top right at lights out to reduce stress and slow the plant some time to heal before lights on.

Ok 10 4

Right now I'm working with a very robust white widow strain. I could top it a week from flipping it easy. Hell I could probably do it the same day. It's not the norm though. New cuttings dont even sagg, roots at the bottom of the solo cup in 5 to 7 days, no hormones or foliar spray or anything.

Normally to help during transplant or hst I would reccomend aussie tonic aka vitathrive. It is basically vitamins and minerals blended for the sol purpose of reducing plant stress. It's used in conjunction with your regular veg nutrients. I'm sure that's what makes my white widow so robust. Cause Ive got a gelato that's just as strong, and they are supposed to be touchy, from what I've heard.

So this is just now. Just got home from work and got to check on my babies.

He is saying if your going to clone take from the bottom branches they contain more of the hormone for rooting and tend to root faster and easier. The upper branches have less of this hormone. So if you are going to clone the bottoms branches are ideal.

Topping is different than cloning. It's used as plant training to control growth and usually to give an even canopy.

Oh yeah I got that I guess my question was on the topping of those branches

I think a week and flip. Last thing you wanna do is put yourself I a difficult situation. Unless you are as your asking about going to be doing some topping. Then you have a bit longer.
Lmao I was asking about the fan that I put to hit the lights was getting a lil to humid in my tent came home to 75 temp and 81 humidity. Figured lights will be cooled by fan.

Oh you need to get that humidity under control.... Or you risk losing everything. And it's only going to get worse as the plants get bigger

Well guess I'm flipping in a weed then lmao. Maybe maybe a lil longer. I wanna flip the at about a foot and a half that way of they double to 3 feet I'll be ok since my tent if 5 feet tall
Risky if ya ask me. They can more than double. There is no such this as exact calculations of stretch unless it's clone and you have grown it before and also keep everything the same
