My cost of ownership is much cheaper than most as I at one time a very long time ago, had my licence so fortunately I access to any equipment and easily source parts.

But really I woulda never thought I'd be able to afford such an elite car. Guess nothing really elite anymore when you can buy a stock 800hp dodge.

License for what? The parts are crazy expensive even at cost and unless you have access to Bentley ODIS you will have to go to the dealer for most service.

I have a friend who runs a European performance shop and has a little high end car wrecking yard I can get parts and just because it says bently does not mean anything special an engine is an engine if you ever worked one engine you worked them all.

Trust me the maintence is not much cheaper on my dodge 200$for an oil change.

I worked on rolls Royce jet engines v16 marine engines bently is nothing different.

I really miss working here. It was the coolest shop I have ever worked in as far as our customer base, boss was awesome and how often do you get to say you drove/fixed a 300,000+ dollar Porsche?

Those are killer pics I love the boxer engine can't stand the look of porsche. To bad they now gotten away from the reason they started making cars nkw there quality has dropped hardcore. My boss drives a 2018 corvette stingray only corvette I've ever liked.

I should not say he drives one he owns one it sits on stands in his garage and all he does is wash it 3times a week, ibet he has only put on 15km since new just driving it home. And he calls himself a car guy.

Aswe speak I'm doing some preventative maintence on my 300 getting the bubbles starting around the wheel wells.

The boat is that running 2 351s? I had a nice boat 15 years ago had a 351windsorrebuit it 2x but loved it.

I had an olds 350 rocket. First engine I rebuilt it seized up about 20min into my first drive due to bad oil pump it pained me to watch it leave with the scrap truck.

Odd, my boss had a big boat I had to replace the engines on but I didn't post pics of that, and it ran on Chevy 350's. Are you talking about the pic of our Dyno?

Its not a matter of trust, I was a Bentley service advisor for years and I'm only speaking from experience. They are pretty reliable as far as getting from point a-b but there are so many bells and whistles that something is always failing, even if it is just the power mirrors, third brake light, or the infotainment system. Each of those repairs costs over $1k and if you don't stay on top of them you will end up with a car that drives but nothing else works. Also, the W12 is a pretty "special" engine, the way its packaged there is very little room to access most parts. If you need to do something simple like change the serpentine belt, you have to remove the front bumper, radiator, condenser, oil coolers, and core support just to get to it. Not only that but there is no Hanyes, Chiltons, or Alldata manual for these cars, its very difficult to come by helpful information regarding diagnostics and repairs and working on them is far from intuitive. The reason the cars depreciate so hard is because the cost of owning and maintaining an older Bentley is nearly the same as purchasing and making payments on a new one.

Can I interest you in a low mileage 2016 BMW M2? Not a Porsche but it has no problems with the twistys, its fairly new, has 13 months of warranty left, and is well under $50k.

Yeah I used to work for Honda, too.. Even they started having issues around 2012 with engines and transmission designs. It's not so much ease of working on the cars as it is the automotive manufacturers are all guilty of reverse engineering parts so they don't outlast the rest of the car, to save production costs, up profit in part selling, and the general idea is to force people to just buy new cars instead of paying to have them fixed. It's becoming a disposable commodity.

i.e. I had a friend who was an engineer for Volkswagen and was on the board for the Society of Automotive Engineers. He told me all about how they would reverse engineer parts. They would say "Ok, we have this car, that usually ends up in the junk yard after 15 years, but the water pump still works. How can we design this water pump to fail at about the same time as the rest of the car?" - - the fact that they even have these conversations blew my mind, but it's true.

They are the driving experience. Just not the fixin' experience. Lol.

As far as a Porsche, might try a 944. Great cars. Yeah, it's gunna be older than 15 years, but parts are still pretty cheap and easy to find. Handles great, too. One of my favorite cars to drive on road courses.

I love old Jags too, but as they say, when you buy one, better buy two for when the first one breaks but yeah fun as hell to drive.

I've always wanted an rx7 or 8 of my own, those are pretty fun drives, too.
