Will be interesting to see if they both share the same physical structure, and how much difference the Ruderalis makes. Definitely on the taste test. lol

Hey good morning! I'm an indoor/outdoor old school stoner too lol :) I use the sun during the day and inside lighting for vegging at night. Saves on the electric bill. Learned in dirt, went to hydro and aero for a decade and then went back to exclusively dirt. Idk for me it's about the journey instead of speed if that makes sense. I get really good performance in dirt using this "hybrid" lighting thing. Pain in the ass to cart them all around twice a day but... it's worth it to me. Currently have HSC's Squirt, Purple Mountain Majesty, and Pineapple Muffin going as well as some old school White Widow. I grow for about 6 months out of the year for the next year's supply. Guess that's about it. Thought with our backgrounds we could compare notes and see what works :)

I like both outdoor and indoor, and get some thing back from both. Summer outdoor when possible, and as organic as I can, which is why outdoors I only grow in soil. Indoor growing I love too, you just cant beat getting home from a hard day at work, fed, showered, and sit down and have a beer and smoke with your plants. I'm oldskool in the way I like to grow under MH and HPS, nothing against LED, but the HPS is Summer in the depth of Winter, sunglasses are optional. 😎 Some times I lean to DWC, flood n drain, and the odd coco grow, so I have no set plan, except I like to keep things simple, done big grows in the past, but it's all more work, and I can't be arsed anymore. lol Hence the name of my diary. I have buddies who grow, so no shortage of flavours and strains to go at, my only problem is I just cant stay awake like I used too. lol

Hahahhaa! Same :) I'm not into LEDs either. I have been using the same Flouro setup for the last 10 years with those little itty bitty flouro grow bulbs. I just mix them veg and bloom, every other one. Seems to do what it needs to do for my veg and momma plants. I used to use an HPS/MH combo lamp but the things get SO freaking hot and I live in a hot climate as it is. Just got sick of it so I traded that thing out for three 4x2 flouro fixtures that are kick ass. They only get it at night though. Everything is outside during the day unless the weather sucks. Also into the bonsai thing. These young bucks talk about super cropping and the old school SOG. I like using bonsai techniques for training branches and root trimming to keep mommas micro sized. Everyone has their own techniques that work for them. As long as the leaves are army green and the buds are frosty and chronic, I really don't think there are wrong answers. I kind of laugh at people who are testing PH from the run off of their plants and the like. A lot of this has REALLY gone overboard imo.

So far in my experience the auto has very little of the original gens, some even don’t even have the correct linage but they name it the same a big cousin photoperiod and sell the shit out of them ! Lmao

But 00 seeds seems to use genes from there respective photoperiods ? So yeah it will be nice to see what cha get !

Chemistry, have you ever messed with bonsai? My wife bought me a desert rose a decade ago and I got hooked. Got bored yesterday and finally did a final trim on the top and a root trim at the bottom. Then it went into a traditional bonsai pot. The purpose is to limit the space my mother plants take up while still providing clones. This is an old school White White plant.

The only connection to bonsi I have is, my aunt had a few specimens when I was a kid, can't remember their names, back in the 60's. lol I like them, just don't have time to do bonsi, it takes to long, 8 weeks and I want to flush. lol I remember my aunt using half orange peals to start the saplings off, any roots that grew through the orange peal was burnt off, and this was, or at least back then, was the starting process for training root balls to keep the plant/tree small.

"Modern Times" are much easier on my time lol! Basically everything gets started in normal dirt. With cannabis, because the stuff grows so damned fast a lot of that "hurry up and wait" is taken out of it. The way I do mine is a lot easier than what you aunt did. They all start like normal until they get into an 8 inch pot. When that happens I'm just waiting for the plant to have enough top side to tell me that it's got enough on the bottom side. There are two bonsai wires on the bottom of the pot that criss cross the stem to hold the entire thing in place. 1inch layer of rock. Mix of rich soil, perlite, and sand for good drainage. Plant comes out of the 8 inch container and the root ball trimmed all the way back to 3 inches in height. Inch layer of soil on top of the rock. Then the plant goes in. Wires cross it and get secured. Then more dirt mix is packed around it. I finish with a layer of rock. They require daily feeding but that's it. The first week is about recovery. And then they just go at it like a normal cannabis plant. Fast as shit full of piss and vinegar lol :) I can hold a dozen plus 2 under a 4 x 2 light. Never have had to hold 14 strains but... If I ever do, this is the way I'll hold the mommas. The other cool thing is these little ones can be held for years if you are hooked into a strain you want to keep around. My WW "line" came off of an old school buddy of mine who has an AWESOME seed bank of old school strains he has preserved like NL, WW, Jack Herrer, etc. I've grown WW from Seedsman and it just wasn't like the old days plant. Thick ass center cola and branching mini colas beneath it if trained properly without pinching or super cropping. But this one is and I want to keep it around for a long while.

Morning tokers and growers, happy 4th of July, get the fireworks and the cannons out. lol Got the buds sorted from the last run, not a massive harvest, finished with around 3 gallons of good bud, one and a half form the Amnesia Lemon, and the same from the Dr Underground. The Sticky Fingers produced two gallons, which is now in the hash bucket, and will be processed when I get time. The Franco's Cheese, Choc Skunk, and Zkittles fem, are all up, but the Sticky Fingers is lagging behind, or a no show, we'll see.

Flowers are forming well on the auto, need more sun, rain is fine for watering, but sun is growth, C'mon sun.

I need sun said the rose. lol

Amnesia Lemon bud, hits like a train, but needs curing to bring out more of the lemon taste and flavour, but at the minute I'll suffer the taste and except hits like a train. lol

Dr Underground, nice hit, quite earthy with a flowery smell, been jarred up, now we wait and see what develops during the cure.

And that's about it for this week, the only thing I can see going wrong is the seedlings look a little leggy and may fall over, so they are looking like pipe cleaner jobs. lol
That's the down side to trying to get all four different strains to pop and grow at the same time, let down by the sticky fingers again, the last one was last up too, just slow poppers, I've no doubt it will catch up if it shows. And that's it, give it large for your 4th of July bash, see you next week, keep tokin folks. 👍

Morning tokers and growers, the weekend starts here. lol All's well with the seedlings, had one no show in the Sticky Fingers department, but we'll pop another and see if it catches up with the others, it is quite a tall plant, so it should. 🤞 The other three seedlings are starting to stiffen in light breeze blowing round them, but they still needed a crutch in the name of a pipe cleaner apiece. Won't be long before they can stand on their own leg. lol Not fed the seedlings yet as they still have the seed leafs to absorb, so next week maybe. No sign of the thrips as yet, an nothing on the yellow cards apart from dog hairs. 😁 So on with the pics, not a lot to see at this stage, but the seedlings are starting to wake up and take in the MH, Spring has arrived in my indoor garden. 😎

Outdoor Gorilla Glue Auto day 78 from seed. Had wind and rain all week, so my auto is looking a bit battered this week. Forecast a bit of sun this week, so hopefully it will look better next week. 😎
DSC00512 2

And that's all I have for you this week, hoping the Sticky Fingers will pop and take it's place with the others, or I'll just run the 3 strains, we'll see.
Keep tokin folks.

Forgot to add these pictures to my log, just another set of bubble bag pics. but I do love a bit of good hash over any cabbage, so I'll put them up for the die hard hashers. I'll give folks a tip on these bags, don't buy the gallon bags, get the 5 gallon bags, or even with a small grow like mine, you'll still be there all day trickling water through them, and if you have a pound of trim to push through, be prepared for a long day. lol I have five gallon bags as of this week, so this will be the last time you see my gallon bags 😁 they will be gifted to some one starting out.

The set up, I like to do this in the bath, then it only takes a few minutes to rinse everything out at the end.
DSC00513

Drop the bags of trim into the ice and water, and give it a good stir, with an ample sized stirrer with some ooomph. 🙂
DSC00514 2

Next step is to strain the bucket on the right, threw your bags into the bucket on the left. Get it right and you end up with this sample on the dish. It's a bit of messing about, but I like a bit of hash. 😎

You definitely didn't screw up :) I LOVE my bubble bags. Gahhhh! But my wife doesn't. Before I one of those long paint/motar mixers that Chemistry has, I used to fly through those hand mixers for cakes with super long mixer things on them. Something would ALWAYS happen. Mixer fell off the counter straight into the bucket. Stepped on the cord and the fucker flew out of my hand... into the bucket. Got it too deep in the bucket and flooded it... errr I meant I tripped over the cat who was looking for love. Yeah. Opps. And you can guess what she says when I tell her I'm about to do the bubble right? "Keep your hands off my mixer, understand me?" Yeah dude. Drill no mixer.

Nope even for small qty they work better imo

My gallon bags can't cope, they all wind up blocked, but I have a buddy with the five gallon bags, who has no problems and cant work out why it takes me so long to do little bit of trim. The other thing about the gallon bags is there's not a lot of room to work, stuff turning them inside out every five minutes, I want to chase the trykes into the middle of the mesh to scoop them off, and I think the five gallons will be better for that, I'll test both and see which is the winner, just need more trim. 🙂

Mortar bit in a good corded drill and the jobs half way there, did my first run with a spoon, then found the mortar bit in the shed, not looked back.

Yo tokers and growers, hope your all fine this Saturday morning. All four plants are fine, and three are starting to look like real plants, we're off the starting line. The Sticky Fingers seedling is up and away at last, it's about nine days behind the other three, but grew taller than the others last run, so it has the genes to catch up. The Franco's Cheese is looking the strongest of the bunch, a real strong seedling, needed no support to keep it upright unlike the Zkittles and Chocolate Skunk which needed the pop up pipe cleaner support system for a week. lol But other than that it's all going as planned. Thought I'd miss the veg space, but I'm not, don't miss the extra work, only the strains I can't keep forever, but the thing is, there are other strains to try, and as a born gardener I just can't help my self, I need to grow them all. lol Every time I look at seed banks I think, I'm having some of those, and those, and a pack of those, just cant help it, and it makes no difference what I grow, be it some veg, fruit or some weed, growing things is in your blood, one taste, and your an addict. lol But then, I don't have to tell you, because your already here. lol On with the pics.

Zkittles, looking green, and no scaffold.

And that wraps up this weeks update. The seedlings should start to speed up now they have propper leaves to pull in the light, they're already starting to reach, so it's all working out. See you next week, keep tokin folks. 👍😎
