So my next question is... Out of a pack of 12 regs, how many females do you usually get? Is it usually 50% or close to it? Is this the worst you’ve ever done? Or do you usually start straight from clone?

Hey burnz , it's just pure luck though so called experts claim 30 % , I've seen 75% or more female on reg seeds , but you have to be prepared for anything including non germ seeds , runts etc ....
But dirtbag definitely got a bad hand this run ...

It is pure luck. And I want to make it clear that I do not hold this against @Dragonsflame whatsoever, in a pile of seeds, who is to know that there is a cluster of male seeds,... it just is what it is.

Some shitty luck for me lol...

With the luck I’ve been having as of late, I better pop all my goddamn seeds and fill my house with females. Before my luck runs dry. nah jkjk.

Yea, its sucks when that happens. I seem to always find the opposite of what I am looking for. If i want males i find females if i want females its males.

its even harder the smaller the numbers you run, its always better when you can pick the strongest of the females.

I am happy to send more seed to ya, sorry for the shit luck on that pop!

For sure , seen that plenty of times ....just gotta stick with em and next run all the females pop .....that's just how nature is , and those males look really nice , I know , no one loves the males , but to me they are valuable , and your bunch looked like beauties....

Yea...It hurts my heart a little to think of all the males i killed in my early days before i was breeding. So many epic lines that now i would kill to get my hands on. Such is life.

I guess tomorrow it's back to the hydro store for more pots and coco, and I'll try and get the room gutted out and cleaned out by next weekend. Hopefully have another crop of babies started in a couple weeks.

Believe it or not i usually get over 80% with regs ive used over the last decades..ive allways grown spider seeds.i put in 105 outdoors and got 85 females..and these are plain bagseed from friends and dealers ...and they are all never stable with the odd nanner and get 5. 6 seeds off ea plant..i have been very very lucky i think.

Last night I was a bit shocked, but today I'm simply, really fucking pissed off. I should be halfway through flower with a full room right now, but no.. had to run fuckin seeds...
And with so few females to choose from now it's not even fucking close to calling it a phenohunt. So this cycle will be made up of very few untested females for a production run?. I do not like the thought of that at all. And I'll be fucked if I run another pack of seeds in there right now.

I dont know what my plan is but fuck, am I ever angry this morning.

It wouldnt allow me to use the automated watering. And I'll be damned if I'm hand watering plants in coco.

I cant believe what I'm going to do, but that is, I'm wiping the slate clean. Everything in the room is gone and I'm starting over. I obviously expected to lose a lot to males and I was willing to run the room less full than normal... But I cannot justify running the room less than half full, and I cant have plants at different stages in here in these small coco pots. I'm fucked. No choice but to start over.

Thanks mosh. A plan I have, I dont really like it though, with only 3 of each to choose from that really limits the genetic expression I'll see, which really makes this whole phenohunt a bit hokey. I might get lucky and find a keeper, but the odds are not in my favor at all. They were barely in my favor if I had 6 females each.

My attitude needs work. I'll be the first to admit that I have a serious anger problem at the moment and its blurring my vision.

I hear you man, I got 2 out of 7 on one batch, I was counting on 3 or 4. I couldn't justify burning my 1000w for 2 plants so I vegged them until I grew more fems from seed. 2 months later I turned 2 beautiful big girls and 3 regular, A long time between harvests and I was chipping at one way before I should have just to prevent buying any.

I'm having an issue ( I believe ) with a new lamp I bought a Visosun 1000w cheap of Amazon $50 but it didn't have the intensity of any other lamps I've had. My last lamp ( a Eye Hortilux ) are out of range to buy now but after 1 year of pretty steady use I bought a cheap one to replace it. Right off the start it had black ends on the core and I can visibly see a less bright & intense light. I turned the ballast to 110% but no real difference. I used my cheap lux meter and on my canopy I got 29 - 30 - 31,000 lux. I switched lamps to my old Eye Hort and I'm getting 30 - 31 - 37 on the canopy ( the light swings a bit because of the fans). I/m staying with the Eye Hort for now while I lodge a complaint with Amazon.

What kind of numbers am I looking for on the top off a new light? I think ( grey matter) you wrote about your numbers on a previous thread.
