I have a question. What temperature should be kept in the root zone?
I have right now 68F, is this a good result?

In hydro. This is gonna start a debate lol. If you run an effective live or sterile system with good gas exchange 72-74f will get you much faster growth while maintaining adequate o2 levels than the say 65-68f everyone thinks. Contrary to what alot of info says this does not create conditions for pythium and there are many species of pythium which thrive in cold water.

What it will do is speed up the metabolism of both the microbiology and the plants. So of you do get a root or bacterial infection it WILL progress faster.

Spent many many yrs breeding fish and aquatic plants in a variety of conditions that are specific to various plants. Cannabis o2 demands are pretty high but even at 72-74 there is plenty. Its the gas exchange thats most important.

Soil is different.

Hello !!

Care to share your feeding routine and setup a little more ?
ThanI you !!

RDWC; either DIY or UnderCurrent. Used a Conny base with the rest of their reccomended recipe. I tend to start at 1/4 strength and work up as plant grows, stopping when i get small toothpick size lightening on leaf tip edges. Recipe doses are a ballpark figure some plants/strains will use more than recipe states, other strains less so.

Examples of multi site small net pot grows I dug up. I know it’s not much.

still can’t decide how many to place in this 150LRes

I recognize a few of those... some really good growers there.

Currently these ladies are just about dead. About to chop them out now. More photos to follow.
I think it’s pretty crazy how we can clearly see 2 different roots on all the remaining plants.

All the darker colored roots are older roots that were submerged under the water line when all this occurred.

The white roots are all the new shoots developing after lowering the water level a few inches below thenet pots instead of 1”.

The plants have only gotten worse up top though.
You can also see the dead roots all along the water line of the Res.

Ive never experienced any of this before

Why toss em... thats where new root growth comes from. It's doesn't come from old dead roots. I mean if your going to toss em thats up to you but I honestly don't feel its due to water level... maybe whats in the water but imo definitely not water leven related

I do not think it’s water level either.
The only thing I can think of is the PH perfect nutrients.
But they were growing great the first week or so. A few inches a day. Like normal .

I just feel like at this point, by the time they recover, I can have fresh clones without having to overcome all that stress pretty much caught up to these in 2 weeks max.

What’re your thoughts aqua?

We went overboard on the foil tape after I started noticing the roots discoloring and the ring around the water line.

So I over did all the foil just to ensure no light was leaking into the Res....

I mean nothing wrong with starting over... i would rip that foil off first an foremost. Grab some GH 3 part very proven or better ywt dry ferts and save yourself some money. Or just use the ph perfect and don't touch it.

Then decide sterile or live with enzymes and do it right.

Over the top of the net pots? Or the bottom inside the res lid? Or both?

I’ve always covered my tops... what issues do you think it’s causing?
Inside the net pots or covering the top of the hydroton. If your worried about light leaks then wrap the net pot with electrical tape for the first few inches. Algae growing on hydroton is not an issue. That way you are concentrating all the humidity by the stem and that can give rot. You want to get that humidity away from the stem.

I only do hydro by the way so just looking at the pictures of your new poorly ladies I would say that there's too much air in the water but to be honest I'm so high i may have swung an missed the point 😆
