Loving your blog. Well impressed. Im looking to do a home built RDWC next June/July along with converting a fairly large room. 5×4m. Will definitely be copying bits of yours.
I'm currently growing in coco 12 flower and 12 veg. Keep switching them. So my veg is 10 weeks, when my others are in their 10 week flower. Means I only get a crop every 10 weeks though, although its easy to keep track of and plants get to a decent size with 10 weeks veg.

My 1st 2 grows have both been gelato #42.

I've just put to seed Bruce banner #03 and blue gelato #41.

So fairly similar to your grow. I've also seeded a few others super silver haze and Jack herera.

I noticed your veg time is short. You must have a load of lights to flower so many consecutively.

Keep sharing your work.

How do you like the genetics for Banner thus far?
As an indoor grower I think it's better suited to the outdoors. It's an extremely bushy plant that likes to have it's space. I don't think it responds well to much stress like topping and even plant training. In saying all that I reckon an outdoor grown from seed would be a sight to behold. From my perspective in regards to how it smokes it's just strong and always knocks me out...eventually lol. From what I hear it's good if you want to get really baked but not so great if you're already down as it can make you sink deeper.

Cheers, I run a short veg time only cause the main grow are always clones. I wouldn't be able to get away with it using seeds 😅

If seeds were easy to come by though I'd love to give it a go... hopefully that won't be too far away...maybe a year.

Interesting. I have some from a dispensary and find it more up than down. Dense nugs. But honestly home grown weed has been way better so far so I imagine it's the same for your stuff.

Thanks for sharing! I got some seeds as freebies from seedsman so I've been thinking about it....just lots of strains to choose from and limited as to what I can grow at once.

It's been a week and a bit since I took these cuttings and plonked them in this bath. I was a bit concerned I hadn't worried about the bath temp so got an aquarium heater. Turned out it wasn't necessary. Overnight the first bumps started to show. Really happy with this method as all I did was cut them, puck them then float them in about 10 litres of tap water and 10ml of liquid kelp (Seasol) and 10ml Fulvic acid. No dome, no rooting hormones and it matched my fastest rooting time maybe would have beaten it by a day.

Roots are going off, I added a smidge of monoammonium phosphate now that they've popped. Will have to get the other room ready sooner than expected.

Placed the second layer down, hopefully it'll be the last. My previous grow the Gelato's grew to five foot and the banners four. However this grow the plants have been topped and was given another foliar of kelp to limit vertical growth further.

Update on the mother plants I neglected by letting them go dry. Half filled them with filtered tap water no pH check. Left them for a week and they ended up looking like this.

After swapping the buckets out with fresh solution they're otw to a full recovery after three days.

The pink Kush I seeded is coming along but a bit of a runt compared to previous seedlings.

Currently setting up the second room. Didn't insulate the tubs on the first round. Will shorten the PVC throughput pipe, also widened the gap between the two rows so I can get the centre for pruning and plant management. The frame was low enough to keep the ceiling fan installed. Switched it to winter mode as I want to run CO2 on this grow and that will ensure the airflow passes through the canopy and pushes the air back down along the walls. Also installed an RGB light that I can control remotely. Kinda bro science on my part but I ordered four 480watt 3k fixtures with no far red. Will run a red colour spectrum 15 minutes after lights off.

Slow going getting the next setup done but only a day or two away now. Insulated the tubs with foam, used pool noodles for the return pipes. Makes a massive difference in stopping the tubs from sweating when lights turn on. Happy with the system design too. Three inch piping between the tubs is a must but one inch piping is enough to the res bucket, same with the returns. The water level stays even across the tubs.

Exciting times, should be able to have it done and the clones potted by the beginning of next month. Sealed the plant holders so they're water proofed. Wasn't able to afford enough lights so I'll be using flood lights on this grow but should be able to upgrade again by the end of the year.
IMG 20201030 153442

I went with 3k no red, going to use another light for the far red.
IMG 20201030 135611

The dimmer instructions were a little confusing but if anyone else buys these lights, this is how the dimmer should be wired.
IMG 20201030 152912

I've used these lights before so I know they're solid. Here's a link to the ones I bought.

Day 16F, The canopy has broken through the second layer but I might chicken out again and replace it with a nylon net so they're not as restricted. They look healthy but I probably should be pushing them harder on the feed. My ppm sits around 400 and what I was calling ppm was ec I think. Usually it's double to ppm. Anyways I'm topping it up with filtered tap water (100ppm). Will see how low the ppm drops and decide on the next feed.

I took off about 35-45% plant material before flipping as it's really hard getting to the centre plants. They look like I didn't touch them, the underside isn't too bad though.

Big update today. So for the past two weeks my clones have been sitting on the floor getting minimal lighting and no nutes. It's been good in that it's kept them small buying me time to finish the system they're going in.
IMG 20201031 185157

When it comes to transplanting I fill a bath tub up with dechlorinated water along with the pebbles.
IMG 20201031 190827

I then position the clone whilst submerged and when I'm satisfied I pull it out. Best way I've found to transplant so far.

Did up four lots of six and potted them into the tubs. All that's left is to cover them then work out the feed.

All done. Have done up the initial feed, will provide a run down later.
IMG 20201101 144212

The lights at these heights give around 50k lux full blast. The flood lamps only provide 30k on their own but having it inbetween the two good lights balances it out.
IMG 20201031 230803

No far red at all so I'm using an RGB wifi led bulb in my ceiling fan to stay on for fifteen minutes after lights off.

how far apart are the plant to each other? And how often do you change out the res?
I topped pretty late in veg about week 4-5 just before the flip. The plants roughly have .5 square meters each, which is really tight. I'm thinking about reducing the number by half down to twelve so they have a full square meter each to grow with. When I first started growing I use to flush weekly. Nowadays I don't flush. They get an initial feed that's pretty loaded then I top up with filtered water for the rest of the grow. Last grow I stopped adding nutes about week 5 of flower and kept topping back up with water. By week 9 the ppm had dropped to around 250 ppm which is pretty close to the tap water I get here. I guess a lot with the feed and rely heavily on my senses. Mainly sight, if I see any kind of salt at the bottom of the tubs I know I stuffed up with the mix and locked out nutes. Haven't had that problem for a really really long time.
