Any way you can get that day time temp up a bit more? I’m noticing better growth closer to 80F
@Aqua Man has a few posts about that temp range being ideal and I’m starting to believe him (not that I ever doubted you aqua! I’m just a stubborn slow moving pot head 🤣)

Yea definitely you talking about in the veg tent or the flower tent? My understanding was with flower we wanted them a little cooler, and generally under 80 degrees - I can set the controller to pop the temp right up though in there no problem.

In the veg tent I was hoping the T5's were gonna put off enough heat not to need anything else but I'm not so confident now =\ Gotta decide whether I'm going to just do another large seedling mat w/ temp regulator for in there, or set up another heater. Probs leaning towards seedling mat.

Posted this in my thread but relevant here.

Thanks for posting. I think this further confirms my assumption that the flowering ladies have soil which is improperly draining. Doing my best with them =\ keeping them right on the edge of too thirsty before watering.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it I get it. I just noticed a big boost pushing my tent to 80F but you’re right it could have been one or more of many factors.
For sure.
I should note that I also have HID in a closet PTSD... so, high temps and I are like 😧🧛‍♂️💥✨
That's actually what made me decide one day to just leave my plants in the aerocloner.
You can have pretty balls ass hot temps and they seem to just compensate their transpiration rate freely, given the access to a massive water reserve.
I've definitely done some growing breaching the 90ºF's a lot in the past... just never with any success in soil/less medias.

Every time I start thinking I have this living soil shit even the smallest bit figured out I get smacked with a new lesson. I'm gonna have soil drainage PTSD after this round of plants.

Yeah man your plants and their potential drainage issues vs how they look has been on my mind lately w my own grow....and i have been poking around a bit in different sources to try and understand it.

I think putting the temps up to 80 in flower for a couple days won't hurt anything and might be interesting.

Yeah... I dunno why the common mindset is that hydroponics are complicated and soil is easy.
I look at hydro and it's like, "1+2+3 = 6"
I look at soil and it's like, "Δ(1n)+⋯+Δ(nn) (n→∞) = your mother.

I think this is a good idea for an experiment. Pop the flower tent up closer to 80 and see what happens. It may just be the confirmation bias I need to continue believing my own bull crap haha

If you guys promise to quit yelling at me I'll do it. They just went to bed a couple hours ago so when they wake up I'll pump up jam to 80, and they're about ready to drink again too.

TBH I never went to top watering, I just put a small amount in each res once they looked super dry. I'm once again revisiting this idea in my head as it's been basically an entire week and it only now feels like they could take water again. I think I am going to indeed start with light top-watering and see if they don't look any better. At this point they are basically through stretch and didn't stack at all.

I have one early clone from the strongest looking plant that's fully rooted and on it's second set of new leaves. I'll have to see what the wife thinks but I'm temped to 86 one of the earth boxes and plant that clone in it's place after adding some drainage to the soil and reconditioning with amendments.

10-4.
I was just thinking about the answer to that equation and, like far too many circumstances in my life, a Futurama quote was all that populated...

Apologies for any offenses that my dumb TV/LSD brain brings to the table.

Man, I am dense as they come when it comes to jokes, jives, etc.
I'm the dude...
"Knock, knock!"
"... what really is a knock when we get right down to it? 🤔 "
"🤦‍♂️... it's supposed to be a door."
"Oh. I don't answer those."
😡

If there were a joke about ruining jokes, I'd surely ruin it.

So this kid keeps bringing me pounds of trim from his 'farm' outdoor organic grow and I gotta say man I'm running some pretty decent fucking oil regardless of it coming from trim that was only half-assed separated for nutrient leaves...Just handed him this 12g patty a bit ago and he was freaking out about how good it was...despite being a bit dark (again, trim run)

Since you guys went and made me feel insecure about my vegetative growth space, Mrs. Romanum would like to say 🖕

I ordered more tings!! like a 2'x4' seedling heat mat to make sure the roots stay nice and warm

1609190634927

And a temp controller to make sure it doesn't cook shit:

1609190698626

And then because I'm impulsive and constantly re-arraging power cords I bought this to hang above the tents (I'd like to move all the temp/humidity/etc controllers outside the tents where they're always accessible and not shining red lights on the flowering ladies at night

How do you guys feel about photoperiod in the veg tent? Is everyone pretty much 18/6 is the way to go or does anyone run veg 24/7?
