In hydroton? Something must have been wrong. Roots will grow submerged if the o2 is adequate.

I fear if its not constant or at minimum very frequently the roots will air prune or not have enough nutrients.
right now the plant is showing droopy leaves. to me it just seems to much feeding.
I dnt think the roots will airprone because he will be manual feeding until the roots grow out.
I think the roots always had water and nutrients right there so they never outgrow.

If you hold it close to the light what does it max out at on your phone?
The max it’ll go to is around 12000 but if I angle the phone or put my phone in front of the screen to read it better it seems to make it sky rocket into the 40,000s

This is how I got the plants 4-5 days ago.

Yeah cause its stressed to hell and back from the transplant. I dont feel its possible they can be overwatered but thats just me.

Ok just making sure your phone didn't cap at a low lux. Some sensors do.

I would move the hoses in a tighter circle around the plant. Have a feeling the root not getting the water they need because its dripping to far out.

Then when you get the ph meter just stay on top of it they probably gonna take a few days to a week to recover if they do. Adding the hydrogaurd is important if you can as it will help prevent an infection or root rot.

your right, but thats cuz the plants are gone from soil to hydro

@Aquaman The plant was also in soil prior to going into the rdwc. From my experience that is no no.
I agree... thats why it looks so bad right now. It will come around though... im pretty confident.

fingers crossed! I would take some clones and stick those in a rockwool or something and put it in a dome

i've seen the other way - just as the plant starts to flower, switching from DWC to soil grow.

be gentle on those shocked plants.

hmmm. if im gonna have to flush and bleach and clean and re do everything (just to have it chunk up again tomorrow) then I think im going back to soil. this is extremely frustrating and ive already lugged around and wasted like 100 gallons of water this weekend so far.

I didnt think it was this critical and complicated with temps and chemicals and bacterias and stuff I cant even see or pronounce. I just dont get why it went wrong the second time, I followed every direction properly. unless a few degrees and few extra, normal, nutrients somehow caused this?? very frustrating. this isnt fun.

many here have been here, and there is no fun in frustration.

maybe switch some back to soil grow, keep one or two RDWC? even switch to DWC?

persistency will eventually pay off, hang in there.

after some recovery, you can take cuttings off these plants, to start afresh with clones. always have a backup emergency fallback, if you can. having more genetic stock and different grows is a form of insurance.

my humble opinion, i reckon those RDWC or top feed are good to establish plants and for younger vegetative growth - but what would i know. also, as previous posts have pointed out, less tubing with a simpler DWC setup.

My first round of dwc became a nightmare that i switched to soil just to learn the plant. DWC is actully fun and after my first round of nightmare i learned allot. Now i've got it working and am following what i've learned.

Don't give up, it sounds difficult but its easy

hear, hear.

Yes. All 4 plants came from a buddy who had clones ready to go in soil and I was impatient

I knew they’d look rough for a week or so till they adapted to not only their new environment but my screw ups too

I do have some in soil right now and am trying to get two tents setup. One hydro and one soil and maybe efenrjsklt go all hydro. Not off to a good start.

will spend some money tomorrow on hygroguard and a ph meter and other things. H202.

No h202... do not use h202 with hydrogaurd it will kill all the benefical bacteria

@Aquaman do you think he can put those plants back in soil, take 4 clones from his good plants and start a fresh hydro. This also gives him a chance to actually upgrade the parts he needs.
I wouldn't risk it... they are stressed enough and I think that would finish en off. I honestly think a few changes here and a week to recover and he will be in good shape.

Also all this damage will not get better and will likely get worse. So expect already damaged leaves to die and fall off. Pay attention to the new growth to see how they respond.

Ok I took a quick peek at my roots. They have grown but they are disgusting. I gave them a quick spray and seemed to make them less gross but they still seem far from ideal.
