You must be in an area where you have access to lots of goods. Denver maybe?

My only method to hunt down the good stuff is to buy seeds and grow them out. I know way before the smoke if the THCV is there. Wish it were like you said where I live.

That's what I do also. What I meant was that I would grow out the plants and I would test the ones that had the cerebral uppy long lasting high.
I rarely find a keeper but those would be some of the traits that I might look for when finding a breeder.
It's a lot tougher when chosing a male, you pretty much have to go by look and smell unless you know the strain.

Guys this video upload is painfully slow tonight, I'll have to post the conclusion tomorrow. Spoiler alert, THCV acts similarly to CBD during decarb. Needs the full hour and possibly higher temp (135) to fully decarb.

Using the spot analysis data, we can compare THCV levels from week to week while decarbing at 125 for 60 mins, we can accurately track THCV production in any plant.

Gotcha.

I just test every plant prior to harvest so I know what is in them way before consumption. I wanna know when it comes to harvest time when plants are crowding each other which ones are the most valuable and they get preferential treatment. I don't have the experience you guys have so I have to rely on science to guide me.

What are you able to test for other than thcv @Moe.Red ?

Cannabiniods? Terpenes? Been wondering about flavanoids. Some test showed an increase in a food crop with only uva added light no uvb. Butbi cant remember the details. And im far off topic. ;-)

since you likely know what level of thc do you prefer in your personal smoke?

Eric Clapton asked Frank Zappa once how he got the nice house with the fully equipped recording studio and all the music gear.

Frank Replied “I dont do coke”

your lab and personal drive made me think of that after you said you didnt smoke.

Im using pro mix hp and dyna grow foliage pro and protekt now. Was using fox farm ocean forest or the like with added large perlite for better drainage and pure blend pro grow. I cut out the organics to eliminate springtails that i attract here so I could identify the damn root aphids i was plagued with all year.

i do however believe drought stress helps bring out more in the plants. Holding back water until the pots were 3/4 dry down the pots (which was a hard to wait extra day at first) increased my yield and everyones perceived potency a whole lot.

I also mix separate pitchers of fertilizer for each different plant. All different ages and strains in my garden. Most growers wont do that it seems and i cant blame them. I want only what they need going in if possible. Well as close as i can get to it.

I grow in coco and I also don't smoke, I do consume it in other ways though.
I want 37% THC in all of my buds and I want to feel like I just took some sort of speed when I use it. I want to clean my whole house before I even realize how high I am...

nice, speedy is fun. I like to trip out for 4 hours on a kayak river run.

Does anyone have experience breeding landrace strains?
I'm thinking that there will be no need to look for a recessive trait because every trait will be recessive in the land race?
Can I just find my mother with all of the things I want and then just knock her up from a strong growing landrace male with a good smell?
I will back cross it if the seeds show promise but it'll be easier if someone that knows landrace breeding could chime in.

Wow.

You need to get a column and make yourself some crystals. Then you can dust them on top of whatever tastes good or gives you the giggles and this will boost your THC to whatever % you want. It's 99% THC.

I'll get vid running the column I got a ton to catch up on and I'm almost out!
