Flipped to 12/12 four days ago and seeing great stretch. I’ve been taking heaps of fan leaves off but not sure if I should be taking off more or less ? Any suggestions

There's plenty of room there to let them just grow so I wouldn't touch them at all myself, then again.. I've only grown Autos so don't take my word as solid advice :-)

I'm only on my second grow, but I'm defoliating heavily and I'm having good luck with it. My girls are growing very dense tops now . I made a video but can't figure out how to post it lol. I'm also new here so I don't know how to post a link to my thread. It's the one titled "Why so bushy?" There are pics of my plants on there after defoliating and it explains what I'm trying to do. I'll post more newer pics tomorrow. Good luck!

What i do, i pull the leaves in the low center of the plant, i pull most inward facing leaves, and any leaves blocking a bud site. I also pull the largest fan leaves if they're bunching up against other leaves or branches. And i definitely pull the leaves that you'll sometimes see reach waaaay across a couple branches.

I should've taken a "before" pic, but i defoliated these girls pretty heavily. You wouldn't have been able to see the coco in the back pots.

Nice! Whoever layghed at this is probably another 30 year grower who still cant train or defoliate. Thats where its at, dont let arrogant “vets” deter you. Id take a new trainer over an old vet grower any day
42 year grower that can make half pound in a 2x2 in 100 days from sprout. Rock hard buds no larf. Just clean up the bottom and leave the solar panels alone.

What growsince79 said .just clean bottom up.i take lowers off that get on the way when i water..however i do take some off in flower when things get too cramped.you have plenty of room in tent so i see no need to take any off

Agree only overcrowded plants need defoliation. Solution is to not overcrowd. Shorter veg makes better relative yield.

Super Crop, leave just 1 or 2 bud sights at the tips, remove the leaves from the bottom up ( lolly pop ) and those that cover the potential flowers.
May be a little drastic but it works well.

That sounds exactly like what I'm doing, but I didn't know there was a name for it. "Super Crop", is that what it's called? I'm only on my second attempt, but on my first attempt I tried it just like @growsince79 says below. Just clean up the bottom and leave the solar panels alone. But my plant was very bushy, with 8 or 9 main colas (probably because I took so many clones from her), and doing that resulted in little buds at every node, and the top buds weren't very big. This time I'm hoping to get the girls to focus all their energy into growing larger, denser top buds. It seems to be working.

I never let anyone deter me. Ask my wife, it really pisses her off. But I figured they were probably laughing because I said I didn't know how to post a link.

I've been a professional carpenter for 38 years, so I know first-hand that us old timers know our shit, but I've made the mistake of thinking that I knew EVERYTHING too many times. 42 years? When I have questions about my grow, hell yes I'm gonna ask you. Still, what I'm doing seems to be working. I would show you how dense the flowers are on the tops after only two weeks, but I can't figure out how to upload my the video I made.

Whats your best relative yield now -g/sqft/day?

Dont listen to that shit, as much as you want, break it down into 40% and clear whatever is in your way, its worth olemimg up more light to bud sites, you can cut every single fan leaf that is shading a bud site and Id recommend it. He cant tell you why you shouldnt, and if he even tries I can tell you why hes wrong
