I want best quality don't really care about giant 1lb yields. I mean who wouldn't love that but I like a certain quality of marijuana for my medicine.

Don't know your local laws. Here we can have up to 10 plants growing and 4 ounces ready.
My quality isn’t degraded using this approach.

If you find a black and white answer in cannabis it's wrong... everything is grey and ever situation, grow and plant needs to be treated on it own merits

Don't get caught up trying to maximize everything. Concentrate on a healthy successful grow. You have to much its not that hard to give away or process into butter or oil.

I care about quantity because my electricity is close to 50c a kilowatt.
Exactly. Only have 3 plants flowering . 1 in veg and 4 clones starting to grow

it's conceivable to grow 6 pounds with 12 plants. They must expect the average rec grower to suck at growing.
