Yea, I think the 5000 and 7000 is better if your sitting in an appropriate footprint. That said, the 3000's will allow you to get farther down on them. Personally, I think that's the best approach, because of the laws of photon, and distance.

LED's are going to be most efficient (stronger) at the nearest focusable point, all things said. The technology aside, simply bring them up close to the light makes a huge difference, but the spacing/spectrum needs to be precise.

Most (almost all) of the shit in use today is using 120 degree angles of attack.
That 120 degree angle is why they usually don’t have diodes in the center? And I haven’t thought about how close you can bring the lights to the canopy🤔 is there any numbers or specs I can use to further determine the best numbers ?
 
When I was a HPS guy, I always thought that the DE 1200 watts were the way to go, but it was eventually pointed out to me that I was thinking about things in a wrong way. Actually the best HPS config is 400's, spread out, and button down....

Same holds true for any configs, basically as long as the intensity can hold up. Say if your using quantum LED, you want to go with say the SF1000D, (their most inexpensive $79 light) because you can button them down, and you can spread them out as far as you like.... make sense now?

An array, always is going to work better... no matter how you slice it.
Then its going to fall to the tech, and the ratio's. ie your diode efficiency, and spectrums.

One of the biggest problems for 10w burple diodes, is they focus (correctly) so far from the point of light. 1-2w diode is way more efficient.

In the first gen lights, the diodes were all spaced evenly. But the light charts had all the light in the middle and very little on the outside. So they moved the diodes around and mounted them at angles designed to even out the light in the tent. It spreads it out more for even distribution over the plants. You're looking for the ppfd chart for each light.

Yup. A 4x4 with 4 SF1000D's will have more light at less pressure.

I hear you so basically actual fixture coverage is just as important as light coverage 🤔

Almost. The diodes are aimed for you, so you only need to get so close to the sidewalls of the tent with the light.

I would suggest the slightly cheaper S-Line AC Infinity Fan instead of the T line and buy the AC Infinity Controller 67 as well.
T and S is the same fan but the T has a little more advanced controller but the Controller 67 is way more sophisticated.

Just as a side note have you ever thought about the benefits of mounting a lower power light in the side.. for example a SE5000 above with 2 SF1000s on the sides.. asking for a friend for because I can’t stop spending money.. I mean he can’t 😂

Yes. That has been discussed. Dr. Bruce did say that it will help, but there are no studies on how much it helps.
It looks like, at this time, it's not worth it. Maybe after a couple more generations of lights...

I’m more going with the package , if anything I’ll go with the s8 now hearing that the 6 might not get the job done .. As for what I’m hearing air exchange is BIG if you want to grow some gas ( Medical grade cannabis)

I SO hope you grow way better than Medical grade man. That stuff is ... sub-standard.

I’ve made the conscious choice to basically be a guinea pig for these type of things 😂.. maybe it’ll land me a sponsor or something who knows but I love testing stuff and getting solid numbers, data and statistics to give a high detail review .. with that being said first grow will go with 2 fabric pots and 2 air pots with 1 fabric pot and 1 air pot getting no nutrients and going all the way through in FFOF. However the other 2 will be given my “God bud soil mix and nutrient schedule”

So just so I’m no track .. with a 4x8 6 SF1000s would have more overall light than 4 sf 4000s in the same tent
exactly, because you can adjust them far better, yes. Same exact power, same diodes, better config. Yes.

Even if your doing the same exact footprint, you can dial them down farther, then turn them back some, making them more efficient. Because there more spread out.... and closer...
 
Onwards to the next lesson, UV A+B...

The most efficient UV A+B... t5's These make a huge difference in resin production. Diodes can't compete at this wavelength..
I use 1 of these in my 2x4, and I've got one hanging in the 6x6, which I could be running two in there. Not only large bump in resin production, but also protection against PM, bugs and other problems down the line.


I love how my flowers look under these lights, giving them a nice suntan. (but don't look into the light). lol

[SIZE=4][I]CurtisBlow916[/I][/SIZE], for what it is worth, there are many options on equipment and products that will work when growing cannabis...just look around at the farm and you can see all the variables through suggestions provided here. I realize you have put a lot of research into your future grow, and probably spent a lot of money also, but good growers can make it work with what they have...it isn't all about the equipment or a specific product. Yes, equipment makes it easy to get some better results, but you have to know what you are doing in your garden to make it work. Might I suggest you start a small grow, learn how not to kill your plants, and see if you have a green thumb for this first, before spending all that money and finding out you still have problems making it work. I know there is a learning curve in the process, and it is through this growing experience that one learns how to grow, and then when you see what you need, then look at what equipment you need to do what you want. Just a though that could help you save a lot of money and grief 😉👍

 
I beg to differ. The T5's are great, but diodes just passed tubes in the economic scale. They produce more per $ than the T5's.
Dr. Bruce just did an interview on this.

Indoor

Asian indoor

Mixed light

Light deps

Greenhouse

Outdoor

And of course the past time of brick weed 😂

I just have no clue w Asian indoor, light deep and mixed light are at all..
