Thanks for the info brother and the pics! Nice buds! The internodal spacing is a bit stretchy in mine as well. I can see some Sativa traits too now. It looks like a hybrid to me. But what do I know...? It COULD be a green phenotype of Black Magic African, but certainly doesn't have the black dominance of the legendary African Black Magic like pics that I provided from my friend who lives in Durban. Which is the ONE that I'm searching for!
Good luck and happy growing brother! 😁
This is puzzling to me because the stuff I had in 80s did not come from an all black plant. It was an electric gold color with black in it. I'm actually seeing that color in my stems and the scent is very spice heavy so I'm actually getting very excited myself.

I think we are after two different strains that happen to be called the same name?

I'm wondering if the black came from a special curing process? I didn't know too much about cannabis at the time as I hadn't started to grow yet.

Some plants (especially strains that produce purple buds or leaves) will naturally grow colorful stems. These stems may be reddish but typically look closer to purple than bright red. The purple color appears on stems all over the plant as opposed to just places that are getting light.

😇

Well, been doing a bit MORE digging and found some very interesting information! So it turns out that apparently African Black Magic is actually a cross breed hybrid of Swazi Rooi Bart cannabis strain and the Black Congolese! Which genetically explains the green/black AND the blue/black phenotype!
I assure you that the legendary phenotype that DJ Short wrote about is an actual BLACK plant! The curing process is NOT what makes it black! My friend says the seeds are 'pitch black' and the plants start put really dark, almost like too much nitrogen, but the plant starts turning black about knee high and is not determined by flowering cycle or cold temps! It's genetics!!!
If and when I finally get the REAL African Black Magic cannabis landrace seeds, then I will grow them out to stabilize the strain, but you will see that everything that I've said has been absolutely TRUE! THEN, you will be amazed! It's gonna happen! 💚

To be honest though, I don't see any darkness to the buds of Black Magic Kush here in the pics... bright green. 🤔
I will keep updates going brother!
Good luck and happy growing!

AWESOME BROTHER! 👏
Maybe you lucked out and got the dark/black phenotype! I'm excited to see the END result! 🤔
My DJ Short old school genetics from Everything Delightful mix is like a purple Thai/Blueberry, from seed, exhibits dark purple stems, especially after putting them outdoors when it was still a bit cold.
I won't be much help going forward as 3 of 4 are now pregnant!

As I said at the beginning I wasn't planning on growing indoors this summer but the potential BAM seeds changed that.

My last grow in this space ended in late May. I purposely grew some Northern Lights past their peak for the sleepy effect and had a few bananas at the end.

Cleaned room but left big heater in there that was not used since April. Needless to say the closer to the heater the more pollinated they became.

At least I believe this to be the reason? I have very large outdoor plants on same property but so far they are all fine and no hermis indoor or out, as far as I can tell and no other pollination.

So my flowering time, size of buds/ yield, taste, smell and effect will be somewhat tainted but it doesn't appear to be a total pollination where all buds have been affected.

NL x BAM?
Might have a slight effect, but overall, it mostly affects potency because the seeds take a lot of energy to be produced. You do know that you're going to have to send everyone HERE a sample so that we can vote, RIGHT...? 😂

Andromeda Strain of Black Magic Kush.

I'm still waiting on the COA that was promised to US! 🤔
ANYONE here plan on having their buds analyzed especially for THCV content???
Well, I don't know yet, but mine have structure of males....

One is now showing female hairs and the other one is not showing YET, but I'm betting that it's female because males tend to show first in my experience! So... Maybe luck after ALL! 😁

Your most definitely right males do show off 1st, gotta be ready for theeee ladies !

Above pic BAM 10 day, transplanted yesterday & living in full Sun & current 94f Missouri weather…boy or girl ?
Planted in Ocean Forest, Black Gold Organic,
MO. Prime black compost/Silt,
Black Cow compost manure,
Red ground clay, & All purpose sand😵‍💫 & Dehydrated Chicken poop 2 tsp outer perimeter.
WTF !!!

((Also, tap water with pH down to adjust to a acid plant loving level…, our water runs about 9.5-10 Alkaline 🤬
So 5.6-6 pH we’ll see.))

GREAT pics there! Just brightened my day to SEE the Pygmies getting stoned! 😂 Priceless! Wish WE were there! 😜 My friend from Durban invited me to Africa to go on a landrace strain hunt if I can make it there!
They probably are smoking BAM! It looks to have green, gold and black! JUST as you described earlier! 👏
As I already admitted, probably different phenotypes of the African Black Magic! Only time will tell if we have the REAL thing or NOT... Honestly, I hope that I'm wrong and it is! ( I will admit and sincerely apologize to everyone IF I think that I was!)
They're super stretchy like a Sativa or hybrid! Mine are catching up with my big 6 footers but only a few nodes!

For thousands of years human beings have looked to plants for antidotes to their health problems, and for natural remedies to deal with diseases, or even prevent them. Although the origin of these practices centres in Asia, their current use by various peoples is due to the exchange of knowledge between ethnic groups throughout history.

In Africa, a relevant case is that of the Batwa, a small African tribe in Uganda, whose members have a curious habit to keep from getting sick: they believe that all diseases can be cured by continuously using marijuana and having sex. There are no documented cases of AIDS amongst its members. And, curiously, when a couple marries the groom's family must provide the bride with at least one kilo of cannabis.

WOW!
This is so beautiful.
I dont judge any Lineage without smoking things. And also not after smoking.

I would say this feels, judging by the look of the Plant, like a pretty good Line. (i refer to the Pics, from the peoplewho actually grow it).

This is a very propper rating, given that i smoked the 70s trippy Landraces.

So beautiful to see that. The purple African looked good too, probably even better.. Thats just MY OPPINION, no claim!

I hope ArizonaSeedConnect will relase more of their proclaimed Landraces. Especially Vietnamese and Cambodain. Please do that, its awesome!
