I must respectfully disagree... smart should be removed and dumb should be addedthe word smart should never be used with the word government without the word ass in the middle
Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' 'bout!
love that table
Thanks @Dirtbag and @cemchris were a huge help in setting that up.love that table
Interesting idea. Curious how you would know the very bottom of the pot is not still dry or have dry areas? This is the reason why I water till I get a decent runoff. Then I know the hole pot is fully saturated. The other day I had an idea and after testing, it works great.
To know if you need to water, get yourself a soil meter.
Poke or drill 4 holes in your pot 1/4 way up from the bottom spaced around the pot.
Insert the meter probe into the hole and test for moisture. If its dry, then water SLOWLY until it reads on the meter.
Stop when the meter reads the water. It's full.
Agreed. And even then I try to water slowly, runoff can sometimes be from channeling and happen before the pot is fully saturated if they're watered too fast.Interesting idea. That’s what she said (sorry I’m super fuckin stoned, like whoa bro).I wish longer probes were available.
had one of those tester last year everyone here told me they were crap and not worth lol guess it all depends on who's postingThe other day I had an idea and after testing, it works great.

I recall a few comments on those. We agreed the pH part is useless but the moisture sensor is good. We just had not thought of a good way to use them yet.had one of those tester last year everyone here told me they were crap and not worth lol guess it all depends on who's posting
Don't Knock my buckets...I had to go through a lot of ice cream to get them. Antiques now too I guess if over 20 years gives them that status. Double - triple duct taped holes burned through for their ventilation needs....Ah the memories of past grows these pots give me and here you are speaking ill of them. Calling them tall and skinny ! I think there is some form of outrage I should have.....I'll keep in touch and let you know when I figure it out.How do I say this politely.... fucking brilliant brother... thats exactly where you want to know the moisture level.
The only possible exception would be in tall skinny pots but not common to see those at all.
