i worked on Sam D in R&D till it became the Patriot Missle Sys and deployed. so i worked with lots of gov, never would accuse any one of them of being smart! but you could sort of control them with a coffee cup and a good parking space.

I see the pressure issue already where some were spraying further than others...
Looks really cool and it works.

The other day I had an idea and after testing, it works great.

To know if you need to water, get yourself a soil meter.
Poke or drill 4 holes in your pot 1/4 way up from the bottom spaced around the pot.
Insert the meter probe into the hole and test for moisture. If its dry, then water SLOWLY until it reads on the meter.
Stop when the meter reads the water. It's full.
Interesting idea. Curious how you would know the very bottom of the pot is not still dry or have dry areas? This is the reason why I water till I get a decent runoff. Then I know the hole pot is fully saturated.

Agreed. And even then I try to water slowly, runoff can sometimes be from channeling and happen before the pot is fully saturated if they're watered too fast.

Generally speaking, if you water enough to get the sensor reacting, then you most likely have more than enough that hasn't finished running down yet.

I wish longer probes were available.
That’s what she said (sorry I’m super fuckin stoned, like whoa bro).
So my cheap AF Amazon probe says it’s dry at 1 but the girl is still perky and leaves pointing high? Pot feels light too. Normally I wouldn’t water but the probe says it’s dry, what’s a guy to do?

LOL! Sure sign of a baked brain! A common malady up here also! 25 gallon pots so I’m not lifting them. But if you’re in soil as I am, I’m not sure you want to let it get totally dry for the microbes sake. But I found myself under watering and not getting enough to the bottom third of the pot. Which I would think would result in a loss of potential route growth. Kind of a balancing act but I have been trying to monitor it with the probes and it seems to be working. Once they get big and fill up the pot they seem to be able to handle all the water you can throw at them. I know my pots dry out fast also. Hundred degrees and 7% humidity dries them out quick. Just another tool. And 420, the moisture feature works pretty good in my opinion but the rest is crap. Better than sticking your finger 2 inches into the soil. Lol

I recall a few comments on those. We agreed the pH part is useless but the moisture sensor is good. We just had not thought of a good way to use them yet.

How do I say this politely.... fucking brilliant brother... thats exactly where you want to know the moisture level.

The only possible exception would be in tall skinny pots but not common to see those at all.
Don't Knock my buckets...I had to go through a lot of ice cream to get them. Antiques now too I guess if over 20 years gives them that status. Double - triple duct taped holes burned through for their ventilation needs....Ah the memories of past grows these pots give me and here you are speaking ill of them. Calling them tall and skinny ! I think there is some form of outrage I should have.....I'll keep in touch and let you know when I figure it out.😁😁😁
