I have nothing but respect for those guys. They live in a different mental zone.
They used to say the same thing about us meat wagon drivers. We code our way to lunch.
Yeah man changed my life for sure. Made life very difficult for a while mentally but it built resilience like you wouldn't believe. Takes a ridiculously bad event to shake me now. Couldn't do it for more than I did though.. 10 years was enough.

This is the song that made me want to join the fire service when I was a teenager

I used to watch the TV show EMERGENCY when I was young. That's what made me want to be a fireman. After the Army, I figured it would be a nice diversion while I adjusted. Did not work out that way. I went from PTSD to a double dose. One day we had 5 or 6 runs into the 'bad' area of town. I was the driver, not the attendant. We were flying all over the place. At the end of our shift the vehicle manager was checking us in and started yelling about the bullet holes in our rig. I didn't even know anyone was shooting at us. 🤪 🚬 😂

Haha yeah man you get tunnel vision.
My mom used to chase fire trucks when I was a kid, she would see one go by and get all excited and load my sisters and I into the car to chase it and see what was going on haha.

I don't think many people realize just how stressful it is being a firefighter. Seems like more glory than anything, but in reality for me at least it was really just helping a lot of sick people and attending to the death of everyone who died locally, whether natural or traumatic. Put out the odd fire. But mostly medical calls, car accidents etc, the odd assault or murder. Attended my good friends death when he was hit by a car jogging, I was first on scene for that. Fished the remains of a guy out of the hot tub after cooking in it dead for 2 weeks after having a heart attack. Never forget that smell. It's the reason I can't eat Beef anymore.

What it's all about bro, enjoying life.

Ah, wood ash, what a outstanding high quality, low cost, Ag product, and amendment.🙃 I really like burning the hardwood maple up on the property, it burns so very long and hot, with little ash. 😂 Speaking of ash, lol. 🤓 Tthe main chemical component of ash is carbon, with varying amounts of other elements including calcium, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus, +Si02

All in really good ratio's and energy state. I really think carbon was highly overlooked by myself for a long time, and by many of us, actually. Cause we don't view it like we do traditional nutrient models. What do you think of plant nutrition or fertilizers? Most people, the first thoughts are something along the lines of “NPK,” “CalMag,” or “micronutrients”, or amendments — but these elements collectively make up less than 10% of the composition of most plants.

Whether they know it or not, all cannabis growers strive to sink as much carbon into the grow as possible. All aspects of plant care revolve around carbon, above all else. Cannabinoids and terpenes are roughly 80% to 90% carbon by weight. There is no nitrogen, phosphorus or potassium in a molecule of THC.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.😅
My grandma used the woodash to grow vegetables and fruits in the 1980s, mainly as the flower fertilizer, which can really help plants resist pests, but it is too easy to cause burns, and the pH is too high (above 7),

Yeah we use it to make lye water for traditional soap making around here. Or we did lol it's a lot of work. One of those, "if I ever need to survive in the bush" kinda skills.

Brah, I love homesteading stuff. We did all that as kids. If we had half the stuff we did then, we wouldn't even have noticed lockdown.
Me too. Just my nature but also by virtue of where I live. It's pretty isolated here, fend for yourself kinda territory. I can't get half the stuff you can in town so you have to improvise. There aren't many things I can't fix or make outright. From automobile repair to gunsmithing to homemade beer or growing food or weed or mushrooms, or building a house. I love that shit.

That was filmed the year I joined the fire dept. Lol, pyro through and through. But always safety backups.
Yea, when I was in boot, the master sergeant knew I was headed to Aviation Ordinance School (I was the youngest in my entire company), so he put me on the hose straight away, and showed me how to build a wall of water to protect people from heat, and how to keep shit shielded with water. I guess if your working on a flight deck, it could come in handy sometime. lol Especially when your responsible for all the explosives on deck.

Apparently, sometimes fire fighters drop there hoses, and us morons are supposed to back them up.
He had me hosing everyone, and they were pissed a little.

Db, what you think the best cal mag ratio ? I read in the article that ca 14.0%, mg 1.0% is the most scientific ratio for cultivating, but the most popular cal mag botanicare in the market is ca %3.2 mg 1.2%.
Did that article go into variations based on species and strain? Was it about weed, or a general plant article? Can you post a link to it?
