I said something very similar earlier this week about the prairie hellhole I'm itching to leave ASAP.

An already-drunk homeless person in the US tends to have better decision making, literacy, common sense, and understanding of scientific method than the average person in Alberta. Calling it the Texas of Canada is giving it far too much credit (Austin, San Antonio, and Houston are all pretty cool cities), it's more like Alabama with more current racism and proud boys.
Ya but no sales tax and we could drink there when we were 18....I have a Grandson living in Calgary and he loves it. I couldn't take it. too cold for me. I lived in a tent in Hawaii for about a year in 2 trips there. I always thought if it came down to it I could survive very well in the Jungle on the Big island....I was young.....not sure I could cut it any longer without the necessities, taco's pizza,Sushi & such....

All I have to say to Flames fans is that I see why Adam Fox didn't want to play there. I would have requested a trade, too. 😆

Calgary is as much of a major city as, like, Akron, Ohio. But with worse food, more racists, fewer attractive women (that's right, than OHIO), lower standards, and fewer interesting places nearby.

I had to quit sports..The New England vs Seattle super Bowl game a few years ago did it....that and moving east where being a Vancouver Canucks fan didn't help....It got too hard to watch home games starting at 11:30pm and watching them lose over and over again. My therapist
( wife) says " if it pisses you off so much when they lose then why watch them at all?" then Seattle lost to New England and on the final play from the one yard line they passed and got intercepted with the best running back in the league not playing a part in it. I FKIN QUIT !!!

Serenity now Serenity now.......lol

Gotta tell ya Kanzeon, I'm not sure there is anywhere in this entire Country thats gonna impress you if you like the city life. Maybe Montreal, it's pretty modern and cultured. Only great thing about Canada is the rural areas imho, but you've gotta like rural living for that to work. There isn't a city in this Country that I would live in by choice. But I guess for that matter, there isn't a city I'd live in by choice, period. I need to be surrounded by trees and water. Can't handle all the impervious surfaces in the city. Or the smells. Or the congestion... or the people.. ugh. Nope.
And if you think Ab is racist lol.. check out NS sometime. When I lived there in the 90' all the black people lived on one street that the towns people referred to as niqqer hill. They all lived on one street because the last time a black family tried to move into a white neighborhood, the neighbors burned their house down. That was in the 70's.

Yeah, that's what I've been discovering. I had high hopes for Vancouver because diversity and Hong Kong, but nobody can live there. I love Toronto, but nobody can live there. The places in this country that can support my skill set without people feeling threatened by my experience/knowledge are also the ones that are rigged against people moving there. I apply for jobs in Alberta and get turned down because my resume is better than the hiring manager's and people here feel threatened by a tiny bit of competence.

What baffles me with the pervasive racism in Canada is that there are, like, zero actual black people here. There are melanated people here, but actual black culture is stifled at every turn by Canadian intolerance, like how all hip hop from here is blander than unseasoned grits. So the way, way, way too many people that going around spewing racist invective aren't just stupid and prejudiced, they're completely ignorant as to what black culture actually is. Ask them about BLM, Juneteenth, the MOVE bombing, Fred Hampton/Malcolm X/MLK/Medgar Evers being assassinated, modern-day police lynchings, or the many other concrete examples of black people being oppressed they can't have anything resembling an actual conversation. But that's racists for ya. They're not logical, just everywhere, opinionated, and usually drunk.

I've been thinking my best bet at being not-completely-miserable is probably moving to/outside Detroit and living the dual-border life with Windsor. Buy a nice 60k house, fix it up and turn it into a grow/seed/hashmaking op, live near people of other cultures, take some trips to Toronto/Chicago. I liked the island, but there isn't a single restaurant on there that I'd work at.

I hear ya. My brother in law was hired as the executive chef at the Vancouver club last year, and even with a Salary I can only imagine is north of 150K, he lives in a 2 bedroom apartment downtown, has no car, and is just getting by. His rent is almost 3K a month for a 750 sqft apartment. His cupboards are literally 4" deep to save space. After staying with them a couple months ago I was pretty happy to leave their urban prison and get home to the homestead. I don't know how people get by there.

Toronto is ok, I grew up in Southern Ontario until I was 10, all my Moms family is from Toronto. Couldn't wait to leave last time I was there.

And yeah you're right about the racism. The prairies especially, but also the east coast has never had much of a black population ever, and if I was black I'd probably live somewhere else too. AB especially though, is straight up racist redneck central. You're in the heart of it there.

In case you haven't all noticed, my coping mechanism is through savage Alberta-depricating humor.
We got Brady now too. Lmao

seriously not Detroit ? It’s so just nasty once out of downtown - Chicago nice place and I would think plenty of work for ya but still cold

if ya can handle to USA for diversity and employability of someone of your nature I would recommend Tampa or Orlando - expensive but not too terrible. And plenty of diversity here in central Florida

I don't want to get into a big talk on race issues but I see it more tribal than racial....We don't like or trust people that live 20 miles away....Small groups everywhere whether, different religions, different schools, rivalries that go beyond just sport, ( Boston Vs NY ) on anything, add race, color, foods, habits, odors, clothing, customs and we won't trust or like them.

The same Religious books get interpreted differently so no matter what version you believe there are others that think you are a fool.

I've been short and fat at different times in my life to the point of morbidly obese . I saw lots of discrimination every time I went anywhere, a look of disgust and I'd get ignored & forgotten by sales people, getting called out and laughed at the beach or pool in the summer.I could go on.

We will never get to a harmonious utopia where everything is lolly pops and sunshine, I think the best we can hope for is tolerance and acceptance... If we could get everyone on the planet to smoke a little I think we'd all get along better. Harder to fight when every😃😃one is chill.

Exactly! People are generally tribal and shitty until motivated to be otherwise, I think. Especially in this day and age when most political opinions are just parroting the talking points of the corporations that run cable news networks. Everything to keep people distracted by petty infighting while the corporate ghouls think of new ways to bleed and rob the working class.

I made another coconut, chocolate, peanut butter, Almond, & raisin bar...I used 2 cups of bud that made 1 cup of ground up premium decarbed Jamaican / White Widow into 1 cup of Coconut oil in a double boiler and I let it cook stirring every now and then for an hour. I then strained it through Cheese cloth.

I've seen vids where they say don't squeeze too hard or you'll get debris so I did that but I still got silt so I strained it again and it ran clear.
So WTF I squeeze the fk out of the first coconut oiled pot in the cheese cloth & make sure there is no liquid left ( except on my fingers that I licked clean lol ) Then I strain the oil again and the cheese cloth catches it all. Then I squeeze the cheese cloth into a small bowl added a tsp of liquid chocolate to the tsp of oil I squeezed out and let it harden.

Then with the liquid oil in the double boiler I added 1/2 bag of chocolate chips & a large tbl of peanut butter & stirred it in until it was all merged and liquid. I then poured it into the small pan and placed the almonds and raisins. I put it in the fridge for 30 minutes before I gave a slice to my wife.

1st night piece 1 ...went to sleep quickly....So piece 2 I gave her around 5 pm I wanted to see how she reacts to it...by 6pm she said she wasn't feeling well by 6:30 she was out for the night ( with a smile on her face I might add) Piece I gave her at 9 pm and we went to bed at 10:30 and she slept well. Last night just a small piece and its all she needs. This tray should last a while now that we know the dosage.
The extra pieces were mine to nibble on...it doesn't do anything but it taste great.

Nov 20 .....I've salvaged a few fems out of my neglected 12. I tossed 3 that were male and a few ugly ones I've been able to get back on track and they're starting to look better. I wanted at least 1fem of each strain to grow out and clone off and I've done that if these survive.

It looks like I've lost my Bubble Bomb clones I fked them up pretty good I'm trying to salvage 1 but its touch and go with her. I have a few I could cut off a flowering BB....we'll see if I get to it or not.

I have my led Bubble Bomb I just fed 5/5/10/5..+ 3ml up
My salvaged Jam / Purple Haze , Interstate Dragon, Grand Daddy Purple...
1 of 2 Bubble Bomb 3-4 weeks into flower
1 of 2 Bubble Bomb 1-2 weeks into flower
Clone failures

It'll run 11 hrs on a tank...I've never had to use it over 4 -5hrs...even through Yuan By the time I had it hooked up and running we had power back on....I have it on the deck now. I can get us the furnace and fridge on in about 15 minutes now. I've pre run the cords and they're ready. I guess I should fire it up and giver a test run.

Dec 1st I've brought back from the brink of death a Jamaican/Purple Haze fem, an Interstate Dragon , a Grand Daddy Purple and a Bubble Bomb clone. I thought they was a gonner lol. neglected, under fed & generally abused but they live.

My harvest was good all my smoke is dried and jarred. I've found a couple of seeds in the Jam/GSC they're not viable being pale white and in upper buds. Not sure why but it didn't fk up my grow and only from 1 of the 2 plants.
