So I think I finally understand what you guys meant when you said to strip the lower growth. I kept thinking you meant all the lower branches (which I’m sure some of you did, and is a method) but looking at it today it sort of clicked. Each main branch has node sites. Little bud sites were growing everywhere the small fan leaves were forming on the branches. So THOSE must be what uses up resources for the bigger buds towards the top of it‘s branch.

So I did some pruning today! Not aggressively but I think I actually did something that serves a purpose, unlike my mindlessly bending one of my plants into a question mark. But for some of the bud sites I did remove, I left the leaves on thinking they could still be used as a resource for the upper buds, collecting light. Well that part I’m just assuming but we’ll see how it works out.

lol there ya go.

SHIT!!!
I heard about Pineapple Upside Down Cake Herming...and here we go.

Can I just remove the bud sites where male sacks are growing? There are 2 or 3 locations maybe more. I’ll pull the plant out to inspect or should I just chop and destroy?

You can try. Sometimes kids are just confused and grow out of it. Sometimes they don't; it's just who they are.
I just tossed a hermaphrodite plant after pulling balls for a week or so.

Damn...how hard is it to maintain if I remove the sack bud sites? Do they just keep growing more and more?

If it don't stop in a few days just toss. Or toss it now to give the others more room.
I think the other Pineapples might be herms too. That would leave me with 1 plant, the lemongrass.

If I try and remove the male sections...should I just remove the sack? The sack and bud site? The sack, bud site, and fan leaves? Or the entire branch that has male sections?

just the sack if its only a couple. If/when the whole plant is covered toss it. I'd be asking for a refund.

Most definitely. I didn’t buy them from the breeder (Humboldt Seed Co.) but one of their resellers in cali. I guess for now I’ll just remove what I can and hopefully the whole grow isn’t dead in the water. That’d be an expensive waste.

Confirmed all 3 Pineapple Upside Down Cakes are Hermies. So I guess I’ll let them grow and hope they aren’t full of seeds at harvest. Is that even a possability to get Hermies that aren’t full of seeds?

OR....I could set up my dry tent as a grow tent and separate them...hoping not to cross pollinate when tending to them????

If these were late flower herms, you might get away with only a few seeds per bud. Since it's early still, you're more likely to be heavily seeded than not.

Are there any light leaks? Even small blue appliance LEDs glowing softly during lights out can cause herms.

Not a real good idea unless you are willing to change clothes before going from the pollinated tent to the other one. Even then, it's risky.

No light leaks. Even the room the tent is in stays dark.

I was thinking I could tend to them on alternate days. I feel like it’s better than losing all plants but 1. Would ice water bubble hash made from buds full of seeds still be as good?

If its full on balls beginning flower its either male or genetic hermaphrodite. But I have had plants that change their mind and go straight. Usually only a couple balls though.

I have some genetics like that. It's called Sweet Potato Pie. I grew it from bag seed. It produces a great tasting flower but the genetics are unstable. I ran it twice thinking that the first time was stress related. Both times it hermied. Despite it being yummy smoke, its a good example of bad genetics.

You could. Others have. I don't typically make concentrates from my flower. I usually go through 4-5 grams of concentrate a year considering I only use it in unfriendly states where I have to fly under the radar.

I would get a refund or find a different breeder.

Yeah the breeder (HSC) is considered good, I guess PUDC is an awesome, potent strain. But from what I’ve read the strain is a Trainwreck cross and they are known to herm.

I guess I’ll separate them in different tents and hope for no cross pollination. If they are full of seeds, which I’m assuming they would be, would sift hash from it still be good?
