The Crystal Palace is back, now with a Spiderfarmer SE5000.

What happened to the SE5000? I didn't see any details posted on it. I'll show you shortly. 3 out of the 6 bars crapped out.

Batwing DE1000. never disappoints.
except when the power bill comes.
its a big upgrade. πŸ‘Š
I can handle the power bill for one more month. With all the gizmos running in there it's gonna be high regardless. And I'll have it dialed down to 750 so I'm really only adding about 250w of electricity at first.
Just wish I had of ran this from the start. Plants are gonna be like, wtf is this nuclear sun? Ahhhh!!!

In other news.. looks like I'll be pulling the SE5000 down this evening and replacing it with a 750w DEHPS. No way in hell I'm gonna let this lighting failure put a stick in the spokes. This run has gone far too smooth to be sabotaged by defective hardware.
Incredibly shitty. But I’ve enjoyed the journey thus far and I’m certain you will get it squared and we will all continue to learn along the way!

The lesson here is don't let something like this go on handicapped, fix it.

I am curious to see what happens with the level of heat in here. I suspect my exhaust fan might run non stop.. but whatever. I'm fine with that. Only really 3 or 4 weeks left. Just need to keep pushin on.

Off topic.. after watching some of Dr Bruces' videos I'm finishing these differently than I normally do. Dude has been right about everything I've tried so far.
I'll be chopping at the end of a light cycle instead of giving them extended dark before chop, and keeping light levels and temps up instead of dropping temps near the end, except for the last day or two. And I'll be timing my last leaf strip to just preceed the start of ripening to stress them when they are at their peak of terpene production.

Then after harvest I'll be drying them around 18c in as low humidity as I can achieve with loads of air circulation. His theory is to get as much moisture out as humanly possible in the first 24hrs after chop to prevent any kind of growth on the product, then dropping temp to the cool moderate 60/60 most people do for 2 weeks or so. He considers the 24hr period the dry, and the 2 week in a cool climate the cure.

It actually makes sense. He says the plants produce terpenes only when the lights are on, so if you want to harvest plants with a max level of terps in them to harvest at the end of the light cycle.

I’ve been watching the same thing you are and glad to see someone doing it here.

Awesome

Dumb DLI question. Say you're at the end of veg w/ a DLI of approx 32 (500 ppfd /18h) and switch to 12/12... Obviously the DLI drops to around 22. At this point, would you drop the feed EC by approx the same percentage (around 30% ish) and ramp up both light (ppfd) and EC gradually over the next couple of weeks? I'm trying properly incorporate DLI this round and have a few weeks before flip.

You would think, but no, it's best to keep it the same and just address buildup with runoff volume and feeding frequency.
Those are low DLI numbers though..

I'm running an old 600w HPS this run on a 3x3 footprint. Is there a DLI range to shoot for by the end of veg (not CO2 enriched)? I suppose I'm being a bit conservative but i'm also battling low humidy and didn't want to push them too hard. Hopefully I can get that squared away sooner than later. I put rooted clones in my flower tent around 10 days ago and they're doing great with a DLI of 26 (400 ppfd thereabout). I'm slowly dropping the light to see where they tell me to stop. They were being a little fussy last week but now that they're well rooted they seem to be having no problem with more light.

Full blown veg, 45-55. 60 and over you want Co2.
In flower 35-45 works.

Got it. I misunderstood and thought you pushed them even harder in flower. For instance, I thought veg would end around 35, dropping DLI @ the change to 12/12 and then increasing DLI to 50 or thereabout in full flower. I had it wrong. Thank you!!

Also when I say full blown veg, I mean like week 3 or 4. First couple weeks you're right on the money.

Fuck me gently Bently. I've gotta work in this? Ugh...

My brain is impaired at the moment, i didn't mean to make you repeat yourself! πŸ˜† Thanks again DB!

Might try rockwool at some point but am getting my head around coco dtw right now. Crazy how much faster the growth is compared to ProMix. Really diggin DTW so far.

Due diligence. Found the fault, loose wire connection in the light itself. Back in action. Thank God wasn't looking forward to that swap. And the plants under the light look dope as hell.

Gonna take this opportunity to pull some leaves.

Crisis averted. For now.
