First time grower browning curling leaves

Do you plan on cloning or running clones? If so you’ll need a humidifier for winters / and flower drying humidity should be around 60% that lil equate one will only raise my closet about 10 percent , I got the aircare from lowes and haven’t looked back it raises my whole room up to 55% . My clones are growing now but when the humidity was 30% they would curl up and barely grow & feel really thin . After 3 months and my clones barely outgrew their solos low humidity and clones don’t mix. And flower drying is even better my dry time went from 7 days to 11 . buds are much nicer and sticky

Not getting into that yet got a good amount of nice seeds just going to try a couple plants a year, probably should grow in summer the basement is warmer and more moisture

Just a heads up one day after trimming and humidity at 60% heat 75 degrees they look awful most leaves curling now. Just seems to keep going downhill

I would give it some time to fix itself . If it doesnt in a couple days raise the light again another 6-12 inches. Praying leaves in flower is good for me not so much in veg.

I saw one gnat on soil haven’t seen another though. Could the damage could be from that? I would imagine stressed out as fuck trimmed quite a bit. I gave them some water hope it helps.

@Moe.Red would have to help you with that one I'm not too good with controlling exhaust I've always kept my running. Are you sure it was a gnat ?

Was the soil dry before adding the water just now? Nutes in the water or just straight?

In my house in the basement the CO2 is generally 600 - 800 PPM. Outdoors is 400. You should have ample wiggle room.

I agree with 2Bad that it needs a little time. Right now overcorrecting is worse than doing nothing. That plant needs a minute to adapt to all your changes.

I stopped using nutes in fear that’s what stressed them. Plants were pretty dry not 100% though. New growth is healthy it’s the older growth and main leaves that are turning. (I don’t know what the terms are but the sucker growth coming up from already established terminals are the healthy growth, I would imagine my plants are going to shoot straight up in clusters now.) can’t wait to get the temp humidity controller that will solve my problems I assume.

You're going to want to only water when completely light. Start lifting the pots so you can get a hang of when to water. And take a pic of the bug next time. And as a precaution if your not to busy go to local grow store and grab some sticky traps that will help you identify as well.

That will raise rh 20 points in 10 minutes and keep going until you shut it off.

I literally put together a DIY humidifier using their 3 disc fogger and it works awesome for early veg when conditions are at their most dry. It raises the room's RH in no time. In my case it raised the RH from the low 30s to 60 without any issues. My small humidifier would be lucky to raise the RH 5 points. haha

Ok thanks for advice I think I have a few traps laying around the shop actually. They actually felt very light but when I poked finger in it felt little moist not dry. I let them get pretty dry a few weeks ago wondering if that might be some of the stress also

Interesting i've never heard of that store. And @Jsimp342 I think your watering practices seem fine I just didn't want you overwatering . Im coco so I water when already wet but from what i've heard most soil growers neglect their plants for better results

That’s what I read also so I try to wait 3-4 days seems about right

Generally in soil anything you do today takes about 5-7 days to see any real changes, so don't expect overnight success by doing to many over corrections early after your problem. Also, in early flower I water/ feed my plants approximately every 5-6 days in 3 gallon pots, making sure I have about 20% runoff on each pot, so judge yourself accordingly on your watering practices As I get closer to finishing I am usually watering every 4th day.

So what you need to do is get a fan controller that only turns the exhaust on when temp or RH numbers dictate. Inkbird sells them pretty cheap, but there are lots to choose from on Amazon.

Having the fan on full time in your conditions is not gonna be what you want.

Plants will recover fine.

Edit - I know you were told to lower light power - I personally would not. You need the heat, and I don't see light stress, but to each his own I guess.

Edit Edit - once you get these plants respiring properly and don't constantly pull out the humidity, you probably will not even need the humidifier. These plants will put a lot of humidity in the air once things are dialed in.

Hey moe got the inkbird in and want to set it up so the fan kicks on when both humidity or heat gets to high (65% and 80 degrees) so hopefully temp and rh gets up and fan kicks on and off accordingly. Is this how you would set it up? As of now humidity sucks out so fast I don’t even know if Fan will run much at all, probably more for the heat

Yea my humidity was low on my clones for a while my indica's havent bounced back much its been a week. My sativa's corrected them self like instantly. So it could depend on genetics too.

Update got everything under control now in tent. Temp around 75 and humidity between 40-60. One plant looks to be pulling through but the other has new brown curled tips, not going to trim anymore for a few days any suggestions?
