The skunk we had in Oregon was supposed to be thai x afgan x colombian. Skunk #1 is supposedly ag x colombian x afghan. Nothing purple about it; just sticky green skunk. Potency was good, but not as good as the outdoor grown hawaiian or thai at that time.
“Have in oregun”!!
her stinky ass has just been misplaced!!

If someone seriously wanted to breed a plant to be skunky, its not hard. But seriously, who wants their house, car, and, clothes smelling like skunk?
An entire thread full of nostalgic stoners, I might be one myself. Lmao. I've been smoking since 1990 and don't remember the piss smell in skunk, more like sulfur and pine. Funny how a strain can be missed so much that smells like shit but there you have it. I used to get some supposed girl scout cookies that had a hint of baby shit scent. Not exactly a pleasant smell if it caught you wrong but I'll never forget it... It also didn't smell much like other GSC I've had either but was great weed.

The big problem seems to be what was “Colombian” or “ag” or etc then isn’t the same anymore. Modern strains have taken over in the places where these were grown and where they didn’t outright replace they pollinated. I think if it were real easy someone would do
It because there’s money to be made on it. I mean I don’t want my house smelling like cat piss either but hey I’d jump in line for some rks, several ppl on here would. Just for nostalgia purposes, although someone mentioned Malathion releasing thiols when it’s burned so who knows lol

Shit just smells skunky period.

Our skunk didn't smell anything like piss or shit. Smelled like skunk-nothing else. Not diesle or lemon or gas or piss or unicorn farts - just skunk only. I've been told the original skunk#1 doesn't smell very skunky but idk. I was never stupid enough to try to buy the seeds from the mail.

I’ve run multiple offerings of Skunk #1. RKS. Island Sweet Skunk. None had it.

My observation of THC content they do these days is bullshit.
Back then it was either the kill or dirt weed here in Oregun.
And skunk reaking bud back then got you high as fuck at only 2% thc, lol.

it’s a rating system for idiots that buy there weed from state Sponsored and tax me idiots that decide who’s testing your mass produced crap that come out of million dollar grows.

I agree % don't mean alot. I do remember selling Hawaiian the same time my buddy was selling pre skunk #1 skunk and everyone agreed the Hawaiian was better. If I had a green house and could grow 100 f2 plants, I can easily isolate the smell and put it in s1 seeds. The genetics for the smell is still here in my seed bank.

In the Saginaw Michigan area in 1987, there was SKUNK bud.
Soome of you know EXACTLY what i mean.
Is this strain available today.Every skunk i have triwd here in michigan, is not the same.Dont even come close...someone shed some light????
Man we had this pot in my area of Virginia call Schuyler-Skunk and it had a write-up in HT circa 94-95. That shit was soooo damn good. Haven’t seen it since. Seems like they bred that terpene out of most popular strains these days

I'm from Traverse City not far away. Went to high school in the late 80s. I remember the stuff well as with the Pine bud. Unfortunately careless breeding practices have bred them out. Now everything is fruity or berry. What a shame! I've been on the same search since the late 90s brother.
Damn I’m feeling old and nostalgic at the same time. We used to get this pine smelling lime green leafy pot that was phenomenal as well as the skunk. Just talking to my local grow-bros about this the other day

Around here we still have an abundance of pine and citrus.

it does not exist. I am from Sacramento and was moving packs of it in the mid 80’s. We went up Mendocino twice a month and it was everywhere and since then I have sprouted $50k if not more of every seed that was so called skunk. I’ve searched in Europe and the Middle East. I had buddies in the military in Afghanistan bring countless seeds back for me and I have to say it’s gone. I had hopes that Duke Diamond had something close but it’s not it. The buds were almost a neon but dark green and they were round balls . I guess the looks could vary from grower to grower due to stretch, lighting and feeding but if you had the skunk you would know it. You could literally smell it growing from miles away and if you had a bag in your pocket and you walked into a grocery store or a bar the entire place would know you had it. It was a nice overwhelmingly smell that was almost to much. Maybe someday some one will accidentally recreate it but as of now it’s gone.

I had to make a sealed ozone closet for my wife’s weekly clothes, shoes, coat, and purse. It was either that, get rid of strain or my wife lol.

It’s also why I would keep a weak strain like blue dream around to travel with if needed.

A couple years ago in Florida I had an ounce or so of mr stinky in the trunk. Went in truck stop and went to bathroom, got food, 10 minutes later we go outside to car. I need gas still, but truck next to me has door open and guy is bent over not moving anytime soon. I squeeze my ass in there basically brushing up against the guy and notice a pistol, a uniform next, I jump in shut my door. Back up to gas pump and I realize it’s a full out search of the truck next to me. 3 old guys and now the cop was going through their stuff in the back of truck, everything. I doubt he found anything on them, I parked at the front door and the cop was parked over yonder and smelled it walking by. The only guys around were them, and my stinky ass car burning joints the whole way to Florida. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough once I realized what was going on. Sorry old dudes.

I still have very skunky genetics. It's not quite as smelly as the pre skunk#1, but close enough it can easily be recreated. I wasn't a huge skunk fan in 82 and I'm still not, but for $50K maybe the wife will let me do it. I bred the smell out, I think I can put it back.
