Looking forward to more techniques and videos! I picked up one of those princess auto tables as it went on sale today, thank you! I haven't had a chance to use my screens yet but I did make some dry ice hash about a week ago. I think it turned out well but who knows hahaha, I did learn not to do dry ice hash when its raining hahaha. I hope the kief is dried enough and didn't absorb too much moisture. It was easier than I thought but I think I definitely lost yield due to improper humidity levels and only using a 125 micron bag. The kief is sticky and balls up on its own but I haven't touched it since making it, the finger hash I got from breaking the buds was melty though so that's a good sign!
seriously just make sure it’s DRY! or it won’t work,
other than that it’s contaminate ratio,
other than that it’s either heat or pressure or both.,

keep the box from the table as you can put your screens in there for storage/protection..

Rosin I made with the stuff pictured yesterday. It was old material so harder to clean but the rosin is tasty and smells excellent. (Oranges and earth)
The Strain is called Biscuits and gravy
100-180 lpi
Drysift Rosin

Also so dry sift from some Double Banana Fuel.
100-180 lpi
Always amazed at how much contam I can clean out.

First I wanna say I love to see people dry sifting. It really has in a short time become a passion of mine.

If I may add a few suggestions. First I believe dryness to be a big factor that a lot of people do not understand and I myself am just starting to understand little by little. As of late I’ve begun bucking down my plant matter in increments over a few days. This does two thing. Ensures that I do not break heads breaking down plant matter before fully dry. If the plant matter is wet the trichome heads are soft and prone to bursting while we work the material. This means less resin in the end period.
Bubble man posted up a new video yesterday on drysifting (3,4 month old material) using hand method. In it you can see where he forced the material and yes trichomes fell but when he begins to clean it it balls up. He was saying heat. It’s not true. If properly dried the trichome heads harden and will not burst easily. I work in 70f rooms.
This is also the reason for the gumming on the dvd case.

Breaking down your material in increments also let’s you have less contamination and easier cleaning as you can break down a bit and remove the stuff over worked and keep that from breaking down into smaller pieces while you work larger pieces. An example would be I grab whole buds not trimmed and rub them together softly to where I only break off the outer fan leaf (what I consider the first protective layer). I’ll softly rub the material together say two three times then separate that leaf from the buds. The buds are set to dry out a bit more while I work the sugar leaf that has been separated. Since it’s so dry it needs little rubbing to break down good and not need over working.
I continue this over the course of days. Any resistance or gumming tells me to stop and let dry more.

One more tip that maybe you or someone can use is drumming on your screens after you work your material. It helps getting the trichomes through those screens since they do get clogged up more than we know. What I do is grab a spoon and gently tap on my screen to dislodge anything that may be clogged. The whole thing relies on open holes to work.

Besides those I just say great work. Glad to see you having fun. I posted a thread myself not long ago but you know...not much action. Check it out for sure. I posted videos that maybe you’d be. Interested in.

respects.
Ck it out looks like nice product for sure , I didn’t see any presssing? Do you press? Or just smoke the sift

I have a similar press, different make.

Theres no need to use the cellophane on the mold if your worried the brick won't release. Instructions with mine said to heat the mold for 5 min in boiling water and to coat the mold with grape seed oil.

The first couple times i used the grape seed oil to coat the mold but now i use nothing and it works just fine

Thank you. Gotta have patients to dry sift for sure. A lot of people believe that’s why females are better at dry sifting...patient. Me I’m just not in a rush to go anywhere lol. Older now.
I used hand tek. Honestly a lot of contams wanted to stick to so I did my best and worked material over screen over and over separated as best I could and then cleaned screens and repeated.
My saying goes if you can’t clean it all the way clean as much as you can.

The Double Banana Fuel I ran normal three round of hand tek. I never have problems with fresher material. It’s been said that has to do with diffrent ratio of thca/thc as time goes by compared to fresh (heads).

Thank you too. I do press but for me pressing is not necessary. I enjoy the sift as is it made into hash or made into hash rosin. In fact I always make a little of all of them.
If I’m pressing into traditional hash I like to quickly press sift into coil like shape. Sometimes I will heat to 175f for 15 min to partially decarboxylate other times I just press a few times at say 120f until I see it melt together.

If I’m making hash rosin out of the sift (usually 100-180 micron) I usually mold it again using low heat and just my fingers till I make a small rectangle then drop that into a 25 micron nylon bag and put it into a 220 micron bag. I then press this at 145-175f for 2.5 min.
I do small increments of pressure after half a min. and basically just eye the resin as it drips. When it starts flowing I give it a little push (pressure) to keep flow going.
I cannot say psi because I use a hand pump.

Pictures of controlled breakage.

First round I’m just busting off the sugar leaf (I wonder the real name for these) softly.

First pic; set up. Beginning material, broke down material (notice large buds still intact), then separated large buds.

Second through fourth pics different levels of breakage.

Video has just leaf when I actually go to rub material together after removing all big buds from first rubbing to remove sugar leaf.

Final pic is the pull from just sugar leaf. 5.88g dirty sift.

As you see it’s still a lot more material to break down but since I don’t want to break down too small this is what I call my first round.

firstly i will say from seeing how particular? not sure if that’s the right word, but i can see how you work etc and how you treat each step with professionalism that i’m impressed!
personally you could make some step by step vids showing the basics that would blow away anything i’ve seen personally or on video including bubbleman and that crew..

i have a pile of weed to do as i wish, obviously dry sifting is part of the plan..
BBEE8196 3E96 40B6 9520 8021A8FC66AE

i’m guessing as it was given to me that it’s from last yrs outdoor grow, so dry/cure probably started mid october and now it’s almost april, 5 months curing so i’ve laid out in open air until i get to it, could be 1-2 weeks..
waiting for new screens to arrive as my 73 had a tear and it got worse during last couple sifts.. which did not help anything..

For those without much herb, After you make ice waterBubble hash… dry out the herb on cardboard & dry sift if, I was amazed of the yield I got (after getting 4Gr per OZ of Bubble hash-which is my favorite). 🎶😎🎶

don’t you just wash it till you get no more or till the water is getting green, i try to wash till the end, if i’m getting like a gram or two i keep going..
maybe i’ll try that what you said? so how many washes do you do before drying to sift?
thanks brother for showing up here!😁
