Have you ever looked into using SNS209? It is all natural and provides the plants the systemic means to uptake small amounts of Rosemary, which either kills or makes the pests want to go elsewhere. You can also use it as a foliar spray, but I have only ever used it systemically.

I LS swapped the C-10, pushing 400+ HP so I wanna get a custom license plate that says 420 HP, lol. Probably already taken or not allowed but damn that would be awesome

Right on sun Farmer! Blueberry is looking sweet! Hope You can nurse the photos up to two or 3 feet, then you might be home free as far as watering. Not too late to start a few more photos. Nothing personal but I have no use for autos outdoors. We’ll get a thread going and look forward to checking yours out. We hot weather dogs have to stick together. Oh,And one more thing. Go pelicans! I’m so all in on organic growing now. This blueberry is crazy. I have a few rust spots on lower leaves but I was too aggressive with the recharge and EM-1 and I’m pretty sure it threw off the pH for a week. This is the first time I’ve had one pray like this and have such nice leaves. I’m basically trying to reproduce comfortablynumb’s organic grow and simplified watering. My garage is in the mid to upper 90’s too. No more “needs cal/mg”

Weekend update:

The heat is a real force now but things are coming along. I switched from RO to tap water now. The green sunshine people recommended this after getting some rust spots on the blueberry. Def not adding cal/mg.

In ground Autos are ok, starting to get some frostiness on the buds. The two older ones really stretched and got bigger than I thought they would so that’s good news. Tacoing is there but not as bad as it could be. They are still praying up.

Potted autos never really vegged and they are little. I think I’m pretty much done with potted outdoor plants. They smell nice and are frosty so I’ll see them through.

The 2 photos are ok. I stunted one during transplant and it’s starting to get rolling. The other one is getting pretty big but it’s not greening up like I hoped. I think both will struggle a little until monsoon season hits and we get some humidity. Once the autos are done I’m going to add shade. I think they really need it but I’m gonna torture them and see how the buds handle it.

I’m making some Brawndo cuz it’s what plants crave! Haha, activated EM-1. Hopefully it’ll fatten up those buds and make them delicious. Also going to using it on my tomatoes.

And I started a couple more autos to practice transplanting from a solo cup. I’m going to use some extreme gardening Azos for that and see if it helps.

I don’t know what Is going on with these 2 photo’s but they are clearly in flower. They were topped while in solo cups then transplanted then I smashed them flat. I think they are confused

Heat is holding them at bay but I mean they are still alive so whatever. They are drooping a little as the sun is going down.

And here are the shitty autos for the haters, lol. These def won’t get you high . They range from 45-60 days Hopefully they will get bulky and ripe soon. They are nice and stinky. I’m going to grind up some of my aloe this weekend and some of my activated EM-1 for a little extra feed.

Update. It’s hot AF, 98 for the next 2 days. Auto’s are not that happy, curling and taco’ing for sure. I’m going to put the shade up tomorrow. Lost a couple that had balls. A couple autos in pots I stunted with watering issues and weird soil combinations- they ended up about 8 inches tall then went to flower so I gave them the axe. I have 2 solos cups photos that have done well and I just transplanted into the ground.
So, all in all I have 3 autos in ground that are just ok. They are not hating life but not as heat tolerant as I was hoping. I did overwater them too, I had a bit of a learning curve going from 3 gal pots to in ground. Here are pics of 3 autos, the big one (when I say big I mean of the group, it’s not actually big, lol) is in flower, the middle one looks like it’s going to flower, and little one is 2 weeks old. I think it’s time to build a controlled environment in the garage if I want to continue growing autos.

Hey new to your thread but two items that came to mind that could help this type of grow. To keep the topsoil moist use a layer of hydro clay pebbles, and you can also use some Agfabric plant covers to keep out heat and bugs. I had the idea to build a box for outside use but it would most likely be for next year use.

I just got some Blumat watering supplies. I’m going to give that a try but I do worry about the reservoir superheating and making the water too hot for the roots. I was going to dump some hay in a pile around the base. I wasn’t expecting the weather to be so bad this year. It went from cold to hot and nothing in between. I thought these littles would get a little spring bump before it got hot. I have shade cloth but it’s 40% and it’s too restrictive. I need something a bit lighter. I just don’t have any time do so much of anything. Fuck healthcare and fuck working in healthcare. It’s been a bad day to say the least.

Have you experimented with shade cloth? It sounds like you know 40% won't work from experience; what percentage does work?

That’s kind of the problem when you work in the healthcare field. You take care of sick people all day or all week, and then come home and take care of sick plants all evening or all weekend. Where is the relaxation? L O L

Here's my experimental soil cooling setup: Mylar loose around airpot (not relevant to you, you're straight in-ground) and swamp cooler aspen pads.

I've been having issues with hot soil too. I had even worse issues a few weeks ago when I transplanted/moved outside, the airpots were hot AF and my mulch seemed to immediately blow away. I was seeing soil temps above 95 and they got a little stunted. I've got the aspen pads all over now, my tomatoes are loving it. Just use those U-shaped landscaping stakes to hold it down. The max soil temp I've measured since doing those things has been around 75. Doesn't do anything about the wind and smoke, but at least they have reasonable root temps now.

Well, fuck lavender and orange blossom, I have the best smelling backyard and it ain’t even close. I’m chopping 2 of the autos in a couple days, they went 90 days or so. I gotta head out of town and I don’t want too much amber. I have about 5% amber and cloudy. Fan leaves are faded and something has been living on the leaves because there is black insect poop spots on them. They showed up a few weeks ago and I let it be. Hopefully they make them a little angry and stimulate the immune system for some heavy hitting rips.
I installed the Blumat watering cones two weeks ago and it’s been awesome. I’m headed out of town for a week and I’m not worried at all.

Considering the early hot summer they did better than I thought. My potted blueberry curled up and died, just too hot in the pot.

I will update the photo/auto mutants later. I don’t know wtf they are. one of them is big and has slow yet good looking colas developing.

****side note: I’m flying to a medical only state (same place as where comfortablynumb is or used to reside) and usually I take a cart with no problems. This time I bought large vegan pill capsules and stuffed them with AK-47 and chucked them into a probiotic pill bottle. Lol. They are just supplements I swear!

Not good, lol. Just got back to 110+ temps. Gotta hang some shade today. Some buds didn’t survive, just crispy dust now. I chopped the last early auto and have 2 left in the ground. I’ll keep watering but I think the season is over for me. I slightly over dried the two I chopped before I left as well but I think the grove bags will save them. The thick stems were still wet enough so I didn’t trim the buds off and put stems and all in the bags to try to stabilize. I’ll try a little tonight, but I’m not worried. I’ve over dried in the past and it’s worked out.

I may post again but I’m pretty much done, I got the info I needed and next year will be different. I know it’s hot here and I’ve lived in the desert my whole life but it does feel different the past few years. Its supposed to be a record setting weekend for temps, but this is the new normal. I hope the monsoon cools us off soon. But, I either need to setup a small climate controlled grow room in the garage or just get 12 autos in the ground in early Feb and deal with the smaller plants that a short light cycle in late winter/early spring gives us. I can’t afford the former right now. It’s all good tho, still smokin my own and thankful for it.
